“There is simply no better destination in the Vendeé” We have now stayed at Lakeside for three consecutive years and the moment we arrive we instantly remember why we keep coming back. It is one of the most beautiful locations for a holiday, a picture of calm overlooking the lake and the new island gazebo. The Gites - of which we have stayed in both - are of the highest standards and are a perfect example of comfort. Glenn and Svetlana are the perfect hosts - the kind of people who you will consider as close friends even though you may have only just met them! “Peaceful, tranquil, the only noise you will here are the birds singing all day long” The property is situated just on the edge of the village of Apremont with its terrific Boulangerie - fresh bread daily for your breakfast and the choice of patisseries will be difficult to choose, everything you might need from the village Spar, the Restaurant by the Lake where you can have anything from a lovely steak to a pizza. Peaceful and quiet, all you will hear are the birds singing all day long and the odd neighbour mowing their lawn. It is truly a very quiet area and great for a chill out. The property itself is very spacious and is fully equipped with all you could wish for. Wonderful soft and very comfortable sofas in the conservatory, leather sofas in the sitting room with satellite TV. You don't even have to bring your own sharp knives, there is a full set in the kitchen. The heated pool - an added bonus especially when the weather is mixed which it was while we were there. However, it didn't stop us from using the pool daily. Saint Gilles Croix du Vie is a must visit, the restaurants, the marina, the shops are just great. There is also a very large Leclerc Supermarche which is easy to find. Turn right at the roundabout with the European Flags flying and its on your right. You can even take a train to Nantes which is also worth a visit. The beaches on the South side of Saint Gilles are wonderful, miles and miles of sandy beaches which go on for miles. Great for the children. Apremont is a truly relaxing place to be, in the countryside and with the locals. Neighbours are really nice and friendly. We would have no hesitation in recommending this area for a very relaxing break and the property itself is just like being at home. Everything for your comfort has been taken care of by the owners. They have put a lot of effort into making sure you will enjoy your stay.

“Fantastic place to stay!” La Danvoliere is a great place to stay with all the home comforts you require. The barn has been beautifully renovated and is set in pituresque countryside. We had an old man and children with us and the barn was suitable for all ages, from having a barbecue in the evenings or cooling down in the pool. There are lots of local places to visit and St. Malo is not too far away. A wonderful holiday!

Equipped with everything you can ever need, from the dishwasher to the fishing tackle! Beautifully converted property, bathrooms of a 5* hotel standard, very comfortable and with every need for the holiday maker thought of, run by lovely people who really genuinely care that you have a great holiday. Booking process was a breeze and very efficient. Lazy days around the excellent pool or loads to see and do within a short car journey. We will be going back.

“A beautiful peaceful place to stay” A lovely house, bigger than expected set in large gardens surrounded by peaceful country side (very relaxing). A clean & well equipped kitchen, large lounge & dining area, four stayed & it was plenty big enough for us all. It was too cold to use the pool during our stay, however the pool area looked inviting. A short walk into the village for fresh bread/ shop/ bar was a great way to start the day. The photo’s don’t do it justice, we had a lovely time. Thank you for all your help with advice re where to go/ eat etc.
