Incredible time on an stunning island and a luxurious villa
We stayed in Villa Gumonca which is located on the Island of Brac. The island itself is easy to get to, being an hour away by ferry from the ferry port in Split. Ferries run from 7am till midnight, making it very accessible with a car (although it is essential to have one).
The villa is about 15 mins drive away from the ferry port in Supetar and Sanja (the manager) was there to let us in despite arriving fairly late, and show us around the Villa. The next morning, she gave us all the options on what to do around the island, how long everything takes and offered to sort out sailing to Hvar at very short notice. The village of Mirca has a handful of houses with little around, allowing you to relax in peace. There is a Tommy supermarket on the entry to Supetar which has everything you will need for the stay.
The Villa itself is incredibly spacious, and very well equipped with pretty much everything one could imagine. View from the room on the first floor (which has a Jacuzzi) is stunning in the morning and evening. There is an incredible infinity pool in the back, along side a BBQ, sun loungers and large table capable of seating 10 people. We ended up playing table tennis whilst having a BBQ. The pool looks onto the garden (which has fruit and veg, which we were lucky enough to sample) beyond which is a stunning (albeit pebbly) beach about 2 minutes walk away. There is an internet connection throughout the villa. All the rooms are very spacious with double beds and have an en-suite which include all amenities. The villa was cleaned every day with all linen replaced which again wasn't expected.
Can't fault the villa, the island or the excellent hospitality which Sanja showed us. I don't think anyone wanted to leave by the end of it. …
Absolutely wonderful - highly recommended
Our stay in Villa Maruka, was splendid. There were five of us - mum, two daughters in their early 20s and two other-halves - and the villa worked for us perfectly. It has been very sympathetically re-stored and is beautiful both inside and around the pool area, with a beautiful bright pink trailing bougainvillea along the front. It has kept its original charm but combined it with mod-cons (especially the vital air con as it was around 30 degrees when we visited in July). We made great use of the bbq/patio area too.
The villa of Mirca is one of the most beautiful on the island - with a church, a little supermarket and traditional farmhouses, and about a 10 minute walk to a little beach/beach bar. The villa has a great view of the sea and over to the mainland.
Sonja, the owner of the property was absolutely lovely. She was very helpful with advice on places to eat (Konoba Kopacina had the most incredible lamb cooked over an open fire) and with things to do (she joined the hire car company rep when he brought our hire car to the villa to do the translating!) She was always on hand to help but gave us the space to enjoy our holiday.
Thank you Sonja for a fantastic holiday. We look forward to returning soon. …
An unforgettable week
" In the end of July 2015 my family spent a week at Villa Mirca in Brac, Croatia. It was a special occation for my wife and me since we this year celebrated our 70 birthday. For a long time we had been looking for a suitable location when we finally found Villa Mirca on the Internet. The appartment was well equipped. And even if we were 18 people from 1 1/2 year to 70, we had more than enough space. For big groups like ours with adults, teens and babies Villa Mirca was perfect with swimming pool and the sea close to the Villa. And Sanja, the manager and host was very kind and helpful. Our family are looking back to our stay in Villa Mirca with great pleasure and gratitude. …
