About Hvar Town

Fantastic holiday in Hvar

We spent a great holiday in one of the beautiful apartments of the Duzevic family in Hvar. We stayed there in June. The apartment had a terrific view, it was very comfortable and nicely arranged. We were able to enjoy an amazing view over the Adriatic sea and the islands every day as well as barbecuing on the terrace and in the garden of the house. We had a great time. In the evening we always went on a pleasant walk to Hvar's old town centre. When returning to the Duzevic family house we were very content to be staying in a quiet part of town so we were able to get a refreshing rest away from hustle and bustle of Hvar's night clubs. … see more

Memorable Stay on a Beautiful Island!

We recently spent 10 wonderful days in Katy and Ned's beautiful apartment in Hvar. The apartment was very spacious and we loved the modern blue and white nautical colour scheme and really comfortable furniture and fittings. The photos can not do justice to the panoramic view from the balcony, and we spent many a leisurely breakfast and evening just watching the kaleidoscope of boats passing to and fro in the bay below. Hvar town was a delight, and a highlight was people watching in the evening and trying out a variety of excellent, well-priced restaurants. There was a great buzz about the place, and the old historic buildings and central piazza were beautifully illuminated and ideal for an evening stroll. We enjoyed taking the taxi boats out to the nearby Pakleni islands, especially Palmizana, where a good book and a day bed overlooking the sea was the ultimate in relaxation. The weather was hot and sunny, and coming from Ireland, this for us was a real bonus. There was a well stocked supermarket a few minutes walk away and the town and beaches were easily reached. However, what really made our holiday so special was the welcome we received from Katy and Ned. Nothing was too much trouble for them, and from the plate of cold meats and beer in the fridge on arrival to the delicious homebaked cakes and buns that were often waiting for us on our return in the afternoons, we were spoilt! They arranged a taxi to bring us to the apartment and indeed took us back into town for the return ferry back to Split. They recommended restaurants and places to visit and always ensured that we had everything we needed. Central location, large comfy beds, very clean and well maintained. Lovely owners.

The apartment, location and amenities were all excellent.The owners communicated regularly by email and were very helpful and informative.There are very few road names.To find the apartment,go behind the large pink building on the harbour. You will see a narrow back road running parallel. Go past the Dalmatino restaurant and the Champagne & Burger Bar. The red entrance gate to the apartment is a bit further up on the right. There are a couple of flights of steps up to the apartment to consider if you have mobility issues. It is very noisy at night as it is very central, although the shutters muffle the sound considerably. It did not stop us sleeping. It is only a 5 minute walk from the catamaran terminal, the main square and lovely restaurants and bars. We found some really reasonably priced restaurants in the side roads. Dalamatino's (a few steps from the apartment) has beautiful food and great service for a special night out. Also go to the The Top Bar at Hotel Adriana, the wrap-around view of the city is fantastic and the surroundings and cocktails are very classy. The walk up to the fortress is hard on a very hot day but the views are worth it. … see more
