“Profoundly Serenic” As a family of 6, with 3 generations from Mexico & UK, we stayed in Varja for 3 days from the 4th-7th February 2014. Having seen photos on the internet we knew we had chosen an extremely beautiful place, however on arrival we were simply spellbound by everything, and were continually amazed with the everything Varja contained: The actual home & amenities, all the staff (such professional, helpful, angels who were never intrusive and always available to provide for us); the impecably clean rooms; a resourceful study, with a magical view of the gardens from the desk (should we have chosen to work or use it to its potential); the outdoor bathrooms a real, fresh taste of the Tropics; the gardens so inviting and so lush, with fantastic walks easily followed by all ages and interests; the meditation patio simply perfect (all of us - from the 60+ to the 6 year old all were inspired to meditate)! The food was 5 star standard with generous portions and extremely fair prices. We chose to eat moreso at the house for we were so impressed with the range of menu, the magical settings of the tables (the napkins being origamied into different shapes each meal were such a lovely touch, which the children were very impressed with)! The pool and jacuzzis (one in the master bedroom) were fabulous - the onlooking Buddahs around the living area were a classy, spritual touch. Transport was readily avaiable and activities in Ubud were well advised; communication bewteen us, staff & businesses was perfect, all requests (including dietry requests) were met. It was ideal to be away from the hubbub of Ubud - minutes away yet tucked superbly away from any noise. Coming home after a busy day out was heaven- melting into paradise each moment at the house. There is no "best" or "worst", as our whole experience was simply magical - thankyou to all who made our stay one of the most memorable and serene holiday we have ever experienced!

“Relaxing and sublime!” Wonderful personal service, but a sense of freedom. You never felt encroached upon. Fantastic pool with recyclable water which keeps the water so cool and fresh! A cute walk down a rice paddy pathway to the front gate, and so close to the sites of Ubud. Awesome.

“Magnificent” The house was truly amazing. There were six of us staying in the house and we never felt like we living on top of one another. We felt that the house provided privacy for all the couples staying there. It was a peaceful retreat after a day of shopping and touring. I think it was one of the loveliest houses I have ever stayed in. The beds were extremely comfortable and every window had a view.

“Ubud Haven” My family and I had high expectations for our recent Ubud holiday and adrienne and her delightful staff at Villa Madu helped fulfill our expectations and more. Villa Madu is very well appointed and offers all the comforts of home in a tranquil and relaxed setting. The Villa is a wonderful haven to return to at the end of a busy day exploring the sites in and around Ubud. The lush gardens and pool are a great place to chill out and refresh or recharge.Having the two bungalows located at the bottom of the garden allowed our family of 8 plenty of personal space and privacy. Being located within walking distance to most of the Ubud attractions makes it easy to pop back to the Villa for short breaks if needed. Nurdi and her staff at Villa Madu contributed greatly to the enjoyment of our stay. Nurdi's wonder breakfasts will be long remembered and her and the other staffs cheery attitude and willingness to help made our stay even more enjoyable. Based on our experience we have decided to return to Villa Madu again in 2014.
