“The beauty of Ebb Tide matches the beauty of this paradise island” I loved everything about this villa and it is difficult to put into words just how fabulous it is, but I will try. I stayed there last week with 4 other guests on a Barbados singing holiday run by Mike King and we are all suffering withdrawal symptoms. The listing description sounds wonderful, but when you get there it is so beautiful that it is beyond words. The layout is very spacious and all the bedrooms are individual and separate from each other. I had one of the bedrooms with a seaview and double doors leading out onto the balcony - I felt like a film star. The bed was huge and comfortable and I was lulled to sleep with the sound of the sea. I loved being able to see the sea whilst I was showering through a porthole in the bathroom wall. The lounge and dining area are so spacious that 20 or so guests were very comfortably able to enjoy our concert party on our last night. The villa is run perfectly by Jackie the housekeeper and Merlissa the chef. Jackie keeps it cleaned immaculately and Merlissa cooked fantastic meals, usually 3 a day. They are such fun and always make you feel welcome in the kitchen even when they are busy. I felt so much healthier after a week of Merlissa's cooking. Henry the guard is great and makes you feel very safe. The best bit for me is its position which is so close to the sea you feel drawn just to sit and watch and listen. You can't tear your eyes away from the rising and setting of the sun and moon which are mirrored in the sea and the frogs and crickets provide an evening concerto. I haven't swum for a few years but from the first morning I woke up early and had to go into the sea, and this became a regular start to my day along with a walk along the beach (rehearsing my songs). The sea is gorgeous and warm, with lots of fish and interesting coral to look at. We had breakfast on the terrace and lunch usually in the pagoda - I did feel I was living the dream. The open aspect to the beach is quite different to other villas along that stretch of beach and means you get an uninterrupted view of the sea at all times. I liked the fact that you are in your own world inside the villa and in the back garden and on the beach, but just outside the front is everyday life going on with buses which take you all over the island and a supermarket just up the road. It means you can get around quite independently without having to get taxis all the time. I so appreciated staying in what felt like someone's home, rather than holiday accommodation. The owners have paid so much attention to detail both inside and outside the villa that I am amazed they can bear to let it. I would recommend this property to friends and relatives and fully intend to return on another singing holiday and/or with my family. We went on a catamaran trip with Long Running which was brilliant, swimming with the turtles and seeing a wreck. We did an island tour by taxi, which was a great way to see the island and we all loved Hunte Gardens. We visited a couple of bars at the Gap - Crave Bar and the Jam Bar where we saw some great live music. All in all a fabulous, memorable holiday in paradise.
