We’re recently back from a brilliant 2 weeks in Crete where we stayed at Villa Ireni, Chorofakia near Chania. The fact that Tom took time to meet us, ensure our car hire was available and guided us back to the villa, was indicative of Tom and Claire’s personal touch. The following morning, we took up Tom’s offer to show us round the area and point out supermarkets, tavernas and points of interest etc… we found this really invaluable and tried out all his recommendations – we weren’t disappointed.
Villa Ireni is part of a 3 villa private complex with a large pool, 2 bbq areas and beautiful gardens close to Chorofakia village and within 20 minutes drive from the airport and also from Chania town. The village has three good value tavernas, 2 well stocked supermarkets (one selling fresh bread), petrol station and a more ‘upmarket’ restaurant nearby. Stavros and Kalathos beaches are within a 10 minute drive.
The villa is well appointed with a double bedroom and a twin bedded room and lounge with satellite tv and a very well equipped kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine. Everything is spotlessly clean and Tom and Claire have thought of everything to really make this feel like a home from home.
Tom and Claire were around the complex at some point most days, were very willing to give recommendations and advice if asked but were not intrusive in the least. Their involvement was pitched at the correct level and we felt they genuinely wanted to make sure we had everything we needed to have a perfect holiday.
We couldn’t fault anything about our stay and hope to be lucky enough to return sometime soon! …
Villa Maria at Olive Grove Villas
Great Holiday on beautifull location
We stayed at Villa Maria from the 21rst of September for 16 days. The house is equipped with everything you need (dishwasher/washing machine etc.) The WiFi is operating very well. Everything is perfect, nice and clean. Nice tavernas and beaches are around. We could really recommend this location. We have been there for 5 times over the last 7 years and we will definitely come back next year.

Luxury apartments , a jewel in the Mediterranean
My wife and I stayed in one of these beautiful , elegantly furnished luxury apartments . The development is modern , built to superior design and British standards, with thought given to comfort and security not to mention practicality.
The first thing that strikes you as you approach is the stunning view of the surrounding scenery and the azure blue of the Mediterranean Sea . The front door looks, and is, reassuringly sturdy but is easy to unlock and light on its hinges. Once inside , the Italianate kitchen really catches the eye with its style and grace and its petite size is more than ample to prepare any meal with marble floor and wall tiles throughout . The open plan layout leads to a dining area with a table and chairs and on the other side is a lounge area with two luxury leather sofas and a matching armchair , all with corresponding complementary cushions , plus a large tv should you need it .The ground floor has patio doors that lead out towards the wonderful pool where you can relax on a sunlounger or cool off in the divine water .
There were two bedrooms with comfortable beds , one double and two singles in the other , Both bedrooms have storage and all the lockable security windows have flyscreens that keep out insects whilst still allowing ventilation , something missing from previous Cretan apartments I have stayed in. In fact , this apartment is leagues ahead of any other holiday apartments I have experienced. It would be possible to live all year round in this luxury as the cool air system can , in winter , be turned into a warm air system. That is not something to be found in many other places on the island. The grounds and environs surrounding the complex are extremely pleasant. There is car parking and local shops , services and tavernas that make Crete and Greece special . I had great difficulty prising my wife away from the apartment when we had to leave , such was its charm and absolute delight to stay in . It would be true to say I loved my stay here . After staying here I learned the meaning of the word panache . …
Luxury apartment with pool and views close to the sea.
We stayed in these apartments for a few weeks at the end of September and have already booked to return next year.
They are really nice and are a very high standard compared to others I have stayed in previously. It has a washing machine which is a bonus and the apartment was very clean and very modern and had everything we needed. Good WiFi. We also used the BBQ by the pool a couple of times.
A supermarket and some restaurants are a couple of minutes walk. There are lots of sandy beaches around. Its about 10 minutes walk to the nearest but if you have a car they are all reachable in a couple of minutes. We found it great for swimming and really safe for the kids as the water is shallow. The apartments are on a peninsular called Akrotiri and a great area to have a holiday. It’s a quiet area with lots of Olive trees and water melon fields and not too may tourists. The good thing for us was the airport which was nearby and it only took us 15 minutes to get to the apartment. The old city of Chania is amazing and a must see. It’s only a 15 minute drive but there are also buses that go from the village. We had a couple of day trips to Balos and Elafonisi beaches/lagoon and they are just stunning.
I’d definitely recommend these apartments if you want to experience real Greece and also stay in comfort. …
