Why Canary Islands?

Warm weather all year round, beaches bathed in hours of sunshine and restaurants offering the succulent fruits of the beautiful seas... All of these things and more can be found in the Canary Islands. So whether it’s tried and tested Tenerife, Gran Canaria and Lanzarote or undiscovered gems like La Gomera, you won’t be disappointed.

Beachside Bliss

Lying just over 60 miles off the coast of Morocco, it’s no surprise that the Canary Islands enjoy an enviable North African climate. Many of the archipelago’s beaches are the picture of paradise, with palm trees leaning over the shallow, azure waters. Try Corralejo on Fuerteventura or the unspoilt Las Conchas on the tiny island of La Graciosa.

Natural Beauty

From the heights of Tenerife’s Mount Teidi to the unspoilt forests of La Gomera’s Garajonay National Park, the Canary Islands are wonderfully varied. Thanks to their volcanic origins, much of the scenery is dramatic and otherworldly. There are beautiful marine landscapes to explore, too, with whale watching and snorkelling opportunities aplenty. Along with the fish, you may even stumble upon a shipwreck or two...

Never-Ending Nightlife

Los Cristianos and Playa de las Americas, both on Tenerife, are known for their beach resorts, clubs and bars with rhythmic beats out into the warm night air. But other hotspots include Maspalomas and Playa des Inglés on Gran Canaria, as well as Corralejo on Fuerteventura.

Great place to stay

Just returned from a fantastic 2 weeks staying in this great home. Owners were very helpful from 1st enquiries. Home fully equipped for all needs. 20 minute walk from centre but good local bars and places to eat nearby if you don't fancy going into town. Taxi back from centre approx 4 euros. … see more

Nice quiet stay.

We had a lovely stay at pat and agnes apartment in sands beach. Everything we could have wanted was in the apartment and everything was planned perfectly by the owners from check in to leaving. I'd have no hesitation in recommending the apartment and sands beach as a resort to stay in, especially for families. see more

The Finca Cassilas
Quiet clean and well located

This is a modern building, impeccably clean and extremely well appointed with everything you could need for a pleasant holiday. Since we were unlucky with the weather we appreciated the library of books and dvd's and the extra throw's to tuck round us while watching. We sadly didn't have the weather to enjoy the outdoors but I can imagine sitting round the table even making a BBQ (all equipment supplied) or even lying reading a book on the sun loungers, or sitting having breakfast at the small table in front of the cottage. Everything thought of for the holiday makers comfort. We had one problem with the gate in the storm and Colin came out and sorted that, and another when we struggled to sort out how to work the dvd player, and Colin came down to help us. He was very patient. The valley that the finca lies in is broad and the road is not nearly as twisty as most other roads so that it was easy to jump in the car and nip down to the port, which is pretty and wasn't overwhelmed by the (mainly German) tourists. For a tourist resort it was extremely pleasant and I did brave the waters on two occasions when the sun shone. It shone much more down at the port than even up in the valley and certainly was the place to go most days when the clouds were hovering half way down the mountain sides. We explored further afield on the motorway which was safe and uncrowded and now comes all the way from Agaete (at 10 o'clock on thr map, right round to Mogan at 7 0'clock. The road round the Agaete has a fair few twists and bends but although we did it in bits probably would not be above an hours drive, since there is a new piece of road from La Aldea San Nicholas half way to Agaete. So everywhere on the coast is within an easy drive. Going up into the hills is a different matter and some are not for the faint hearted since they are adept at putting roads up vertical slopes! Also not if you are prone to car sickness. We are OAP's and my husband dosn't walk so we spent alot of each day driving. However the bus system seems amazing and gets to every small village. So it would be quite possible to take the bus to the top of the hill and walk back down and easy 10kms at a guess. Lots and lots of cyclists on all the mountain roads. They obviously enjoy it and seem fearless (i was overtaken by a cyclist on a down hill run!) I think it would be wonderful walking country. Our special place to go was the Playa Tasarte, turning off the road to La Aldea about half way along. There is a wonderful restaurant right on the beach side and we found it on a breezy day but with the sun shining and had a very well cooked but simple (as all food offered is) lunch, watching the waves crash onto the volcanic stones on the beach which rumbled a song! Please enjoy your stay with Colin and Ruth at their Finca. see more

Relaxing holiday in a great apartment

We stayed in this apartment for a week and everything went very well. It has magnificent views from the terrace. The apartment was very clean and the building is very quiet. It is very close to the main avenue. There is a supermarket 5 minutes from the house and there are also restaurants, shops ... There is a pizzeria called Dinapoli which we went to 3 times because we loved it. The beaches are very beautiful. It is very possible that we will return in the future see more
