“Amazing area, great accomodation, outstanding hosts” I came to Bled on business, having never considered Slovenia as somewhere to go on holiday. Loved the area but had planned to go on holiday in Venice and then onto the Med. Venice was great but where we (myself and my girlfriend) planned on the Med wasn't, so went into an internet cafe and started to drive back to Bled straight away. We rang the owners of this apartment with 2 hours notice and they were fantastic from that moment onwards until we left.
The apartment was great; it has been nicely done with obvious care and a good finish. My girlfriend particularly loved the terrace from the moment we arrived. The apartment was clean and airy. We also had a look at the other apartment (also sleeps upto 6) and it matched in quality and finish. There was plenty of parking by the apartment and a supermarket 5-10 mins walk down the hill. If I had to be negative (and for the purpose of being balanced) I would say the kitchen was on the smaller side but well kitted out and so you were never left wanting and the two main bedrooms didn't have that much room for a bulky suitcase.
The family that owned the apartment made our holiday. They were so kind and welcoming. They gave great advice about where to go and how to get there. I was genuinely touched by the efforts they made and felt truly at home. For a day trip to the Gorge we hired bikes from them (good quality mountain bikes - helmets, lock and water bottles provided) at a rate well below that being charged in the town.
Do I recommend this holiday rental? YES, by a country mile. It was affordable, practical and very quaint. And due to fantastic hosts - an experience money can't buy. As a result I would recommend this above the main 4* hotel in town (where I stayed while on business) to my family, friends and anyone who is considering going to Slovenia.
Excellent choice of property and location for first time visitor to Slovenia
We chose this apartment for several reasons - location in the Julian Mountains near Bled, a converted apartment for 2 in an old farmhouse with character rather than a modern house, small village near to amenities in Bled, British owner (Scottish living in the apartment below) so we would not have a language problem. We were not disappointed on all these counts and it proved to be an excellent choice of location and property. The views from the lounge are stunning. The apartment has been recently modernised to a very high standard and everything worked, even the television which was a first for us, although we did not have much time to watch anything except BBC World News. We stayed for a week in June 2013 and despite the temperature of 33 deg C, we managed to see a lot of Slovenia but it was really too hot for walking in the mountains. Ralf and Jo were very flexible with the booking and we were able to book mid week to mid week which allowed to travel on the steam train from Jesenice to Nova Gorica on the Saturday (organised very efficiently by Europcar). We visited the Bee Museum in nearby Radovljica and a local bee keeper's apiary near Bled. We even managed a trip to Piran on the Adriatic the coast which was only a two hour drive away where we felt we were in Italy. We appreciated the village with its well stocked shop and post office (not now generally available in UK villages) and the two excellent restaurants a few minutes walk from the house. We could have easily spent another week exploring the local area. We are still trying to find something that we did not really like about the property and location! …
Apartma Torkar #1 Attractive location
A wonderful holiday in a comfortable apartment in a superb location.
We were looked after extremely well from the moment we arrived. The accommodation is very comfortable and pretty, with good facilities and everything spotlessly clean. Boza and Borut were unfailingly helpful and hospitable with nothing being too much trouble. Bohinjska Bela is a beautiful village and is situated in an ideal location for exploring the surrounding countryside and mountains. …
Peaceful, great views...Love the deck!
Loved this place. We actually stayed here over Easter 2010 but can't put that date in for some reason! Great views from the deck...can actually see Triglav (we think!). Well equipped kitchen, comfortable living area & good sized bedrooms. You need a car to get around but easy to drive in Slovenia. We were actually skiing here & although the infrastructure is more limited that perhaps Italy or France, we skiied in two resorts & had great snow where as a week later in France the snow was in very poor condition. …

A nice appartment with a warm welcome from the owners
We really enjoyed our stay in the appartment. Boza and Borut welcomed us the first night with a drink and chat in their part of the house, which is on the ground floor. They were always helpful with advice on where to visit etc. Their English is excellent. There are beautiful views from the small veranda, and the appartment is in a quiet village with the sound of the small stream to be heard from below. The appartment is very homely and well equipped. It was also very clean. There is a good little supermarket in the village Mercator (they are everywhere in Slovenia!). There are a couple of places to eat in the village, but they don't appear to have much life. When we decided to try one out it was closed and looked deserted (Thursday evening?!). I'm glad we stayed here instead of Bled as it is less commercialised. Note that there is one bedroom with 1 double bed and 2 bunk beds, and the other double bed is in the living room. It worked out OK for us as we have one child who slept in the bedroom. Bosa and Borut are excellent skiers (Bosa current world champion slalem) so I imagine they could give great advise for skiing holidays. We will definately return to Slovenia. Hvala! …
