“Wow!” This house is the most peaceful place we could imagine - we sat for hours just watching the water, the fish, swimming, floating, and canoeing. The house is fully equipped with a kitchen (spices, etc. also), snorkel gear, floats, etc., so we had everything we needed to enjoy the scenery. The house is surrounded by mangroves, forest, and water - that's it - no noise, people, buildings. Howler monkeys, jumping fish and birds were the only sounds. We may have felt isolated, except that the housekeeper (who lives out of sight on dry land) was available at any hour of the day to take us to town for a meal out, a night on the town, snorkeling, or to any of Bocas' beautiful beaches. I think this is the best way to experience Bocas del Toro because you've got the beautiful, isolated surroundings and easy access to everything.

“Our Home away From Home” Two of us spent a week in The Orange House. Claudia (the owner) met us at the airport and provided the taxi ride to the house. From the moment we walked through the door we loved the place. There was a view of the water from almost every window. The kitchen / living room is bright and sunny. The house was very clean and has a great large bathroom. The bed was very comfortable and we woke to a view of the water each day. The deck was our favorite spot. We looked forward to coming home (after our days of adventures) to a cocktail and the wonderful sunsets from our comfy adirondack chairs. The house is located about a 10 minute walk from town. I would recommend walking the side road closest to the water to avoid the taxi traffic. There is a large grocery store less then 2 blocks away that has just about everything you may need. Claudia lives next door and is always available to answer any questions you may have. Another great source of informatiom was our taxi driver Marlin. He can pick you up and drop you off right at your door. He also has good advice about where to eat and places to see. This was a great place to hang your hat and relax to the sound of the lapping water all around. Hope to come back...

“Best Place to Stay in Bocas” My wife and I stayed at Villa Paraiso for 8 nights. This is by far the best place to stay in Bocas. The location is perfect - on the beach, quiet and only a 5 minute taxi ride to town which cost $1.50/person. You will not find a nicer lodging option in Bocas and the Cottrell family are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. The house also comes with several complimentary perks like bicycles, snorkel gear, kayaks, and more. We highly recommend you rent a 4 wheeler from Flying Pirates (they have an exclusive to 1500 acres of jungle). We paid $200 for a 5 day rental and had a chance to see parts of the island you cannot see otherwise. Plenty of excellent dining options - be sure to check out the recommendations on TripAdvisor as that was our guide and you can't go wrong. Highly recommend!
