“Spoiled by this piece of paradise” Villa Hermosa left us feeling spoiled. My family, 2 adults and 2 boys stayed for 5 days there. We really lucked out choosing this place. From the first day I contacted Wendy, she was so wonderful. She had great information and was great at keeping in contact with me via emails. She helped us arrange car rental, tours, and tips on where to go that suited our family's interest. This was our first trip to Costa Rica so having a person, almost like our personal travel agent, was the best. When we arrived at Villa Hermosa, this piece of paradise surpass our expectations. The pictures really represented the place and more. It was awesome to have a private pool for our boys, the gardens were beautiful to stroll through, the dining/kitchen/living space was a great place to lounge around and just relax listening to all the sounds of nature. Wendy thought of everything! I love that she provides all the basic essentials to cook a simple meal on the BBQ or burner. There was even coffee, milk, and sugar in the fridge with ice ready in the freezer when we arrived. When we were not out on an excursion, we enjoyed hanging out at the villa playing pool, fuzeball, dart, swimming, laying in the hammocks or just reading. When we left and arrived at our next destination - all my boys could say was "can we go back to Wendy's place?" Con: It's a little off the beaten path so expect a bit of a bumpy ride to get there. Also, although very lush and private, it is next to the road so a little noisy with cars and dirt bikes going by.

“Villa Paraiso lives up to its name!!” This was by far the best vacation I've ever been on and it was all thanks to the unbelievable Villa and amazing service. The Villa itself exceeded my wildest expectations! Exquisite infinity pool with a gorgeous ocean view, a kitchen that belonged in a magazine, and a state of the art movie theatre! Just outside of town it was the perfect distance from civilization for a nice secluded getaway. The surfing is a must - there's a shop that rents boards for $10/day only 5 minutes away. We even went deep sea fishing and caught a nice dinner! The nearby Playa Hermosa and Bellina are must sees and a great fresh sushi at a restaurant around the corner. Other than that anything and everything is readily available from the helpful staff who does their best to show off Costa Rica. Definitely a 5 star vacation! Can't wait to go back!

“Great place for a relaxing beach vacation!” This is a beautiful resort and Palms #7 is just as described on the website. We had a wonderful time. Elyne (the owner), her manager (Jorge), and all of the staff at the Palms did everything they could to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. It is a quiet, off-the-beaten-path sort of place but there are nice restaurants nearby and there are plenty of tours that are available if you get bored with just relaxing. It was our first trip and we'll definitely be back.

“Perfect!” We used to spend our vacation in Costa Rica each year during last 10 years. This is why I will not be talking about the nature which is fantastic all over the country and the surrounding of the villa is absolutely beautiful part of it. I just have to say Villa El Sueno is really a dream (Spanish meaning of the word sueno) and that was our best experience in the history of vacation rentals within the 10 years. Calin and Silvia are very intelligent and kind people and they provide not only best quality services for their guests but also create a.n atmosphere of warm friendship. We will definitely advise this place as the best one for our friends and relatives

“The most memorable vacations of our lives” My wife, daughter and granddaughter have made 3 vacation trips to Costa Rica and have been fortunate all 3 times to stay at Villa Encantada. Our first trip was almost 9 years ago when my wife and I decided to renew our wedding vows.at 40 years because at the time it was doubtful I would live until our 50th anniversary.. Booking Encantada was the best decision I could have made. From the first contact with Glenn McBride to the present time I have found Glenn and his family to be truly great people. Glenn truly cares about his guest and is ready to help them in every way. During our stays we have gotten to know Glenn and his family quite well and consider them to be best of friends. Villa Encantada is beautiful inside and out and over the years Glenn has made several excellent improvements to the Villa and the grounds. It is difficult to imagine a more likable property and accommodating host than Villa Encantada and Glenn McBride. To me there is not a more relaxing place than Costa Rica and the best place to enjoy Pura Vida is at Villa Encantada. The town of Nuevo Arenal is a quiet town on Lake Arenal with grocery stores, restaurants, souvenir shopping and banking available to visitors. For those who wish to venture out and explore all that the area offers... Glenn is ready, willing and able to assist you in making the necessary arrangements for a pleasant experience. My wife and I have been unable, due to illnesses, to make a fourth trip to Costa Rica and Villa Encantada. However next year we will be celebrating out 50th wedding anniversary, and we intend on sharing this very special event with Glenn and Patri at Villa Encantada.. To anyone who is seeking an excellent place to stay and experience Pura Vida while in Costa Rica I highly recommend Villa Encantada at Nuevo Arenal ...

“Great experience!” My wife and I spent a little over a week at Villas Casa Loma and thoroughly enjoyed the grounds, the pools and the flamingo beach area. Igor and Tom were excellent hosts who pointed us in the direction of excellent food, sights and activities. We loved our trip to Costa Rica and would definitely stay at the Villas Casa Loma again. I will certainly be recommending it to friends and family.

“Beautiful Property” The entire staff was terrific. Viviana was super helpful as she was able to make travel arrangements for us to make our stay enjoyable. Stephen was also terrific, he was great during booking and even called to check in with us while we were there. My only regret is not taking Stephen's recommendation to have our cars (Suvs!) delivered directly to the villa. Also, do not get anything but an SUV as a rental, a regular car will not make it up to the villa.

“Perfect Pura Vida” From the beginning booking and preparing for this was easy. Once we had made the booking Joe and Kika were really helpful and provided a complete welcome pack. This covered everything we needed in a simple and clear way (and made us very excited!) In the end we printed out the pack and took it everywhere to help find the beaches and other local places like the local fish shop where we bought some lovely fish. It also covered the practicalities as well for the lodge, like the safe, and the directions for getting to the lodge that were really helpful, with pictures and distances. Once there, although the pictures are good, it is even better. The views are amazing from the lodge and we never bored of simply sitting on the balcony, drink in hand, watching the weather pass us by, sun go down, and all the nature around us. The lodge itself is open and airy. It is full netted so as long as you keep the doors closed you are quite bug free (relatively as remember you are in the jungle). However, you never feel trapped as it is so simple and open. It is an incredible building with an understated feel of luxury with the two walk in showers, spacious rooms and tall ceilings. We especially loved the sofa where we would have a lovely afternoon snooze under the throws provided. You do need a 4x4 and were pleased Joe flagged this. The final road up to the lodge is a bumpy track but it is fine if you have a 4x4 and after a couple of drives you do not think about it, night or day. You simply just need to be able to drive sensibly. Locally, the beaches are quite hidden away but secluded and beautiful. The water was really warm. The welcome pack helps and locals were also helpful. Playa Arco was incredible with monkeys and waterfall. That said, you do need to pay $18 to go through the entrance at the hotel, but that includes a walk through their jungle trail, the amazing beach and a piece of cake and juice when you return. We were happy with the money spent! We found a couple of great restaurant but to be honest, often cooked ourselves in the evenings. The kitchen has everything you need which is great including a simple and easy to use bamboo coffee maker the locals all use. Overall, we couldn't recommend this highly enough. We wanted to get away from the rush of city life and spoil ourselves and this was perfect to do this. If you appreciate what it is and where you are going it is perfect. If you are expecting a 5 star hotel all inclusive, you will probably still be converted!
