“Superb Property, and perfect for all ages” We visited this property in April in a large, mixed ages, family group.this Villa is fantastic, and perfect for all, regardless of age and interests. We are retired and often visit in the Spring, the weather is lovely and perfect for swimming in the beautiful heated pool, cycling, walking and visiting the many interesting villages,.Also for wine tasting expeditions!We have stayed in this Villa, and also La Grange several times over the years as we love this area and the Villas are so superbly equipped that it is not necessary to look elsewhere! There are plenty of indoors and outdoors spaces for large family groups to find a quiet corner to chill, read, etc.The pool and pool terraces are outstanding. Lots of restaurants to try, worthy of mention, Madame Moutiers,Tour des Vents, Ma Maison,Chateau de Vigiers, and, definitely for families, The Pizzeria in Eymet Square. Markets somewhere every day!Eymet on Thursdays excellent. All in all, an excellent place for a holiday.

“Just simply perfect” We have stayed at Le Peyrat for the past two years. The beautiful house and grounds are everything we look for in a family holiday. The setting is so peaceful and private, with a comfortable, home to home feel. Last year our son was six months old, and having all the equipment for him was such a relief, from blenders and cots to sterilizer and toys, just perfect! You definatley need a car to get about, but you can get the cheapest hire from carhire 3000, or Arghus car hire. There are many fascinating towns within an hours drive, and the lake (10 mins drive) is gorgeous summer and winter! The roads are so quiet, even in the summer months, so perfect for cycling around the beautiful countryside. Tracy and Brian are fantastic hosts, and again did everything they could to make our stay so wonderful. Le Perat really is a gem, the only down side is when its time to leave! Thank you so much Tracy, Brian and Samuel, we look forward to the next visit!

“Great place for a family holiday!” We have just returned from a week long stay at the house and had a wonderful time. There were 18 of us spanning all ages including three children under 2. The house is comfortable, very tastefully decorated, and well set up to accomodate large groups with areas to disappear in but large enough common areas to fit everyone as well. As the house is new to the rental market there are still some kinks that the owners need to work out but they are minor and the owners were very open to recommendations and I would expect they will be continuously improving the house. The grounds of the house are extensive and we spent the majority of our time hanging out in the yard or having our meals on the balcony overlooking the amazing view at the front of the house. The house is in a very rural setting in Dordogne so you do need to be willing to drive longer distances to get to any larger town or spend your time in very small hamlets. Or like us you can make the most of the house and spend the majority of your time there! We have booked the house for a week next year which is testament to how much we enjoyed it. “A perfect base from which to explore Sarlat and the Dordogne” From 22 March to 5 April 2013 we had a very enjoyable stay at Maison Breuil in Sarlat-de-Canéda. Our party consisted of two middle-aged couples, and a daughter who joined us for the first week. The house accommodated us comfortably. Sleeping and bathroom appointments were clean and fresh. The linen and towels were of good quality. Even the attic bedroom was adequately comfortable for two with a full bathroom across the landing (mind your head on the door lintels!). The sitting room with television is pleasant, but this we hardly used, preferring the cosy kitchen with its round dining table, chairs and music centre. The kitchen has everything one could reasonably need; much is new, nothing is lacking and all is clean and in good working order. The garden is attractive and clearly well-tended. Unfortunately, on account of the weather (not unusual for this time of year, the temperature was mostly 6 – 16°C and the sky overcast), we could make only little use of the patio and terrace (which would be a boon on sunny days). The swimming pool was covered (none of us would have ventured to swim), but would be welcome in hot weather (apparently abundant in summer). All in all the property was everything we had hoped it would be. We much appreciated the welcome basket on our arrival as well as the folder with helpful information, including recipes typical of the area and brochures. We also found the free Wi-Fi and landline very convenient. The immediate surroundings are semi-suburban, but tranquil and with a rural atmosphere. The walk into the medieval town, by at least four different pretty routes, is about 800m (about 10 minutes' comfortable walk). We never missed a market day and regularly bought fresh bread from the nearby boulangerie. Sarlat itself is delightful; the architecture is arresting and best seen in the early morning and evening, The surrounding countryside and all the neighbouring towns are charming. Having a car is a great advantage. About the host and hostess, and management: the property changed hands while we were making arrangements for our stay. The new proprietors, Paula and Stephen, have taken over seamlessly and have in fact effected many improvements, among them substantial refurbishing. In our e-mail contact with them they were unfailingly prompt and very cordial. In Sarlat they and manager Steve were in all ways efficient and helpful. (We secretly wish they would open other guest houses elsewhere for us to stay at!) We had a wonderful holiday.
