The Cornflowers is set in the peaceful hamlet of L'Oulerie, near to Lucon, and is surrounded by fields and countryside, yet is only a 20 minute drive to the lovely beaches of the Southern Vendée. An ideal holiday home for two families sharing or a large family gathering.
The house has been tastefully renovated and now offers spacious accommodation for up to 8 guests in four good sized bedrooms. There is a private garden with sunny terrace, BBQ area and 10m x 4m heated pool.
The large lounge has two leather sofas, a TV with UK and French channels, DVD player and internet access. A new games room, with play station, Wii, board games, books and films has been created to keep your children entertained.
The kitchen has a large dining table and chairs and is fully fitted with a gas/electric range oven, wine fridge, dishwasher, kettle, toaster and coffee maker. The washing machine, tumble dryer and large fridge freezer are located in the nearby utility room.
There is a family bathroom and separate WC on the ground floor.
Upstairs there are 4 bedrooms - two with two single beds each and two with double beds. One of the double bedrooms has an en suite shower room and there is a separate WC in the hallway.
Outside there is a shady veranda, with a large dining table and chairs, along with a built-in BBQ.
The heated pool is fenced off from the rest of the garden for the security of younger children and there are tall hedges surrounding the garden for privacy.
The house caters for younger children - with a cot, high chair, stairgates, plastic crockery & cutlery and lots of games and drwaing materials.
The Cornflowers is only a 20 minute drive to the lovely sandy beaches of the Vendee - suitable for surfing, body boarding, rock pooling or just relaxing and making sand castles.
The area is great for cycling and walking and is a haven for birdwatchers with the Wetlands nearby.
There are lots of tourist attractions within 30 minutes drive - such as the Indian Forest Adventure Park (with zip wires through the forest, pony rides, karting and water slides.), the Château des Aventuriers with its treasure trail through the house and gardens and the seaside towns of La Tranches sur Mer and La Faute sur Mer.
La Rochelle is less than an hour away - with its aquarium, old Port, 100s of restaurants and boat trips along the coast. The il de Re is also Worth a visit - with picturesque harbours, busy markets and wild beaches.
The Vendee is famous for the Puy du Fou Theme Park - only 1 hour away - a great day out for all the family - with fantastic shows with Gladiators, Vikings, Knights and Musketeers and a spectacular Evening 'Sound and Light' show.

The large living room has leather sofas, TV (UK and French channels), DVD player and films, and a log burner for the cooler months. There are lots of books for holiday reading and a new games room has board games, games consoles, films and toys for your use.
Internet access is provided via an access point for guests who want to pick up emails or surf the internet.
The living room and kitchen are separated by a long breakfast bar and the dining area can seat 8 around the dining table. The kitchen has recently been installed,and is equipped with all mod-cons. (dishwasher, wine fridge, microwave, fridge, 5 burner gas hob and double oven.) There is a separate utility area with washing machine and second fridge/freezer.
The family bathroom is on the ground floor and has a full-sized bath, overhead shower, hand basin and separate WC.
Upstairs, there are 4 good sized bedrooms - two with double beds, one with a set of bunk beds and a fourth with two single beds. All have bedside tables and storage areas. The shower room is located on the first floor and there is separate WC here as well.
There are radiators in all rooms for the winter months.
All bed linens and towels (hand, bath and tea towels) are provided, but please bring your own pool/beach towels and cot bedding.
A cot, highchair, stair gates and plastic utensils are available for younger children.

The garden is completely private, with no overlooking neighbours and is surrounded by high hedges. In front of the house is a covered veranda area, with a table and chairs for al fresco dining. A charcoal BBQ is available for your use.
The garden is laid to lawns and flower beds and the pool is located at the far side of the garden. The pool is 10m x 4m and is heated from May until the end of September.
The house is located at the end of a quiet cul de sac and is bordered with open fields and pastures.
Cars can be parked on the road outside the house, or in the garden on a wide gravel path.
The garden is secure if you are bringing your dog or small children.
