Domaine de Trebuchon is a must for the nature lover looking for a relaxed holiday in a beautiful setting. We are surrounded by our own fields, gardens and woodland and the wildlife is superb. We often have visiting deer, red kites, barn owls, humming birds and a plethora of butterflies.

Despite the rural location we also have some beautiful old towns and villages nearby and the village of L'Angles Sur L'Anglin is a must. In the locality there are also some beautiful restaurants to visit, an abundance of local markets, river fishing, canoeing and cycles for hire. We have a myriad of walks directly from the house.

Outside is our fully fenced large heated swimming pool surrounded by jumbo sunbathing terraces. We have a large table, and bbq for outside entertaining.

The house offers 3 bedrooms and a mezannine area with a curtained double bed. The bedrooms contain a superking bed, a king size bed and a downstairs room with en suite facilities and a double bed that also converts to 2 singles.

There is a very large open family living room and dining room with sky tv, plenty of books, cds and games. Upstairs is a quiet reading area and family bathroom. The kitchen is well equipped with gas cooker and hob, dishwasher and microwave.

The house is set in an old and rustic set of barns forming a U shape and we are very proud of the gardens that have matured over the years. You can walk in any direction directly from the property and the whole truly offers and oasis in todays world yet is within easy distance of local facilities including supermarkets, village markets, banks etc.

The Poitou-Charentes / Vendee / Vienne region

This is a beautiful rural area, largely untouched by time and progress with many beautiful towns and villages to visit. To name just a few : Montmorillon is a beautiful old medieval town set on the river and a pleasure to visit with a weekly market and plenty of cafes and bars. St Savin just 3kms from the house is famous for its beautiful cathedral set in a leafy cafe lined square as well as its wall painting (Unesco site). No visit to the area is complete without spending time in the award winning floral village of L'Angles Sur L'Anglin just 8kms away - here there are several beautiful places to eat overlooking the river and castle.

The Vicq-sur-Gartempe / Nalliers area

There is so much to see - you can be as lazy or active as you wish and we keep a full list of all places to visit and information for guest in the house.
This charming village provides lots of local amenities to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. There is a lovely local restaurant and bar, with some delicious French cuisine to try./ You can also order Pizza in at the local take away. The surrounding are is beautiful and perfect for countryside walks and cycling. You can relish in the local wildlife and enjoy the surrounding scenery.

We are approximately 1 hr from both Limoges and Poitiers Airport. Alternatively there are several ferry crossings which then give a driving distance of between 4 and 5 hours to the property from Roscoff and Caen.
