The Linssen 34.9AC is a luxury canal boat with two cabins cruising on the French Inland Waterways. Based on the Nivernais in Burgundy, France's most beautiful canal, you can cruise through scenic countryside, ancient towns and villages, visit Cathedrals and Chateaux and enjoy the exceptional local food and wine.
Linssen is renowned for the quality of their boat building and the 34.9AC is finished to a high standard. There are two double cabins each with a shower and toilet. The saloon is spacious and has a comfortable sofa that converts into a third double. The boat is helmed from the aft deck which is covered by a Bimini (sun shade). There is a table and chairs and from here you can watch the scenery unfold, take the sun, and enjoy al-fresco dinning. The boat is fully equipped with cutlery, crockery etc. and fresh linen and towels are provided. All you need to bring are your belongings, some provisions and a little wine! You will receive full instruction on the operation of the boat and will be taken on a demonstration cruise before your departure. You are then free to cruise as much or as little as you like. Aboard the boat are detailed maps of the canal and tourist information. Details of suggested routes can be provided as can recommendations for restaurants, vineyards and places of interest. You do need a basic mobility and agility, but this is not hard work and there are lock keepers at every lock to wind the handles.

The Burgundy region
The Burgundy region is famous worldwide for its food and wine. It is also one of the most beautiful regions of France with stunning scenery. Add to this it's History and wealth of historic buildings and you have the perfect holiday region. Cathedrals and Chateaux abound as does beautiful farmland, forests and rivers. Burgundy is a traditional French region with small farms and many vineyards and a simple way of life unchanged by the bustle of modern living. People enjoy simple but fine living as their great wines and gastronomy demonstrate. Dijon is the capital of the region and was once home to the powerful Dukes who ruled the region and much of France. The remains of their palaces and castles can be seen throughout the region as can many great ecclesiastical buildings. The rich and green countryside of the region are responsible for many gastronomic treats as it is their fine produce that has led to these dishes. The region has many Michelin stared chefs and many more but equally worthy small restaurants waiting to be discovered.
Vermenton is in the Yonne region of Burugndy. A region blessed with a great climate, Chablis wine, and the beautiful medieval city of Auxerre. This part of France once provided Paris with its food, wine, fire wood and building stone, all of this was transported on the River Yonne. The Yonne in medieval times was a major transport highway. Today it is a sleepy slow moving back water, but it's past has left us the legacy of the Canal du Nivernais. The Nivernais can rightly boast to be France's most beautiful canal. Cruising this canal allows you to visit Auxerre one of the most attractive towns in France. Its Cathedral and abbey dominate the skyline unencumbered by modern buildings. As you cruise south on the Nivernais you pass the vineyards of St Bris and Irancey and the Caves de Bailly. All around is beautiful countryside dotted with ancient villages. Cravant with the vestiges of it fortifications and Mailly le chateau with its castle high above the canal to name but 2. If you continue South you pass into the famous Morvan national park, here the villages are smaller but no less attractive and the scenery is even more verdant.
