The Umbria region

Umbria is situated in the heart of Italy, between Italian regions -Toscana, Marche, Lazio and Abruzzo. It extends over a surface of kmq.8456. It is divided into two Provinces - Perugia - Terni and 92 municipalities. The Regional Administrative Centre is Perugia.
In Umbria you learn to know the meaning of beauty. Umbria is the heart of Italy, but not only for its geographical position. The region’s wealth of natural and artistic wonders seems almost inexhaustible.
Travelling the roads of Umbria is a journey full of surprises, continuously suspended between the signs of a
well-preserved past and a vocation for the future. Umbria today, reinventing itself fashionable but without overdoing it, has much to offer visitors: sport, culture, museums and musical events of international renown. Immersed in an atmosphere of palpable harmony, every stretch of land and every city has its own unique identity, the result of millennia of civilisation that have left dense layers of memory and timeless masterpieces throughout the land: Umbrian, Etruscan, and Roman first period, the Middle Ages, and then the Renaissance.
Umbria has a true vocation for beauty.
Umbria has everything - and a lot more: art, culture and entertainment that the region has to offer and nearly every day, there are events and appointments that are not to be missed.
These are great events that are famous the world over, starting with Umbria Jazz in its three versions: the winter edition in Orvieto, the Easter edition in Terni dedicated to gospel and soul music, and the summer classic in Perugia, held in July, which hosts the top stars of the current music scene.
And then there’s the Spoleto Festival the TodiArteFestival .
Theatre and music are intense activities here; each city has its own theatre season.
Last but not least are the historic and folklore commemorations: each city has its own and the most famous are the Quintana in Foligno, the Gaite in Bevagna, the Palio dei Terzieri in Città della Pieve and the Balestra in Gubbio. And at Christmas and Easter, there is also a host of ceremonies and sacred representations.
The Villa is located in favour position to visit Umbria and the middle Italy......
Perugia, Assisi, il lago Trasimeno, Gubbio and other wonderful city are reachable by car in 20-30 minutes!!!
The Umbertide area
Approximately 30 km from Perugia. Though it has ancient origins as Fratta, the town of Umbertide was founded around the year 1000.
With its rounded towers and one square tower, the medieval fortress in the heart of the historic district is the site of a Centre for Contemporary Art. Church of Santa Maria della Reggia, with an octagonal shape, erected in the second half of the 16th century. Church of Santa Croce, where the museum of the same name features Deposizione della Croce by Signorelli and Madonna col Bambino in Gloria tra Angeli e Santi by Pomarancio (Nicolò Circignani) dated 1578. Abbey of San Salvatore at Monte Corona, a short distance from Umbertide,
with the upper church consecrated in 1105 but rebuilt and transformed in 1700, and the crypt of notable artistic value with architectural elements that date it to the 11th century.
Umbertide is a little city where you can find all the necessary for your holiday... commercial centre, restaurants, pubs, shops, and more.
