Tremolat is home to great restaurants - Le Vieux Logis, boasts a michelin star offering excellent food (Keith Floyd was known to frequent Les Vieux logis Restaurant)

The Aquitaine/Dordogne region

The Aquitain/ Dordogne region is almost a country on its own with its variety of landscapes and and wealth of history from pre-historic times to the 100 year war in the middle ages where one can still see the evidence of the fierce war between the English Monach and the kingdom of France. There is so much to see and do for everyone.

The Dordogne river has so many exciting activities from taking a trip on a Gabarre (an old cargo boat), hiring a peddle boat or simple hiring a canoe and paddling down the Dordogne River enjoying the breathtaking views as you do it. One can also stop along the way - should you feel thirsty or hungry.

The Dordogne region offers horse backriding, rambling tours and for the brave rock climbing.

The local cuisine is very flavourful with its dishes inspired by chestnuts, walnuts, fois gras, Duck delicious berries to name a few ingredients. The wines of the region are fabulous - such as the Bordeaux, Bergerac and Pecharment wines not forgetting the Sauterne wines of Monbazillac which are delicious with Fois gras.
