About the home

Located in a residential area this home is a great place for families/ friends/ couples to stay for a peaceful, relaxing holiday in the Gran Canarian sun. The apartment has lots of space, indoor and outdoor, with fantastic views over the golfing greens and Atlantic Ocean. Guests can make use of the shared pool, or drive 5 minutes to the picturesque Amadores beach. The Anfi Tauro golf course is on the doorstep, to the west is the quaint fishing town of Puerto Mogan, and to the east is the busier town and beach of Puerto Rico. For a more a local Spanish feel Arguineguin and the mountains of Soria are also close by.

The Gran Canaria region

Gran Canaria is one of the Canary Islands located to the west of Africa and so offers sun all year round. As well as being popular with holiday makers looking for a relaxing beach holiday, it also boasts some spectacular golf courses and scenic if challenging cycling routes along the coast and mountains.

The Tauro area

The closest beach is Amadores, which is a 2-3 min drive/ bus ride away/ 15 min walk along the coast road to the east.
The Anfi Tauro golf club is few minutes away: http://www.anfi.com/en/anfi_tauro.htm.
The nearest town is Puerto Rico which is a 5 min drive/ bus ride away along the coast road to the east.
Puerto Rico has a ‘Commercial Centre’ which has many shops, restaurants and bars that cater mainly for tourists, along with another (busier!) beach.
To the west is the quaint fishing town of Puerto Mogan, which is quieter than Puerto Rico but has a large choice of great local restaurants and a small beach and harbour. Puerto Mogan is a 15-20 min drive/ bus ride.
Arguineguin (15- 20 min drive/ bus ride) to the west is very much a Spanish town with a local feel, with some lovely seafront restaurants.
The Soria mountains can be reached in under an hour by car, and offer breath taking views.

The apartment is a 40 minute drive from Las Palmas airport which Easyjet, Ryanair, Thomson, Monarch, Jet2, Norwegian Air and Thomas Cook all fly to from the UK.
We recommend Autoriesen Car Hire http://www.arcarhire.com/car-hire/car-hire.php : they are usually the cheapest as they provide a transparent, all inclusive quote (i.e. do not charge extra for insurance & fuel on pick-up).
Car hire is recommended but not essential as there is a good bus service and taxis available on the island.

“Fantastic pool” Great location if you you are looking for a quiet holiday in a fantastic setting. The kids loved the pool and the friendly lizards that came to visit us!

“If you want a relaxing holiday this is the place.” We loved this simply but comfortably furnished apartment. We particularly liked the partly covered rear patio which was equipped with attractive wooden table and chairs where, even in March, we were able to sit until bedtime. The beds were very comfortable and the bedrooms had plenty of storage space. The well kept shared pool area was great for relaxing. It was usually quiet but there could sometimes be a shortage of sun loungers. We would have not liked to have been without a car as the nearest shop is not really within walking distance. Also there were only two restaurants that you could walk to. Anyway you need a car to be able to fully appreciate this beautiful island. The owner was a pleasure to deal with.

“A great value break in the sun” Just the job for a week or two in the sun and a real character property, not your average concrete block rabbit hutch! Be sure to book a hire car. The complex has a great pool, is quiet, and has superb views of the sea. Local beaches and restuarants are also nearby.

“Fab Holiday in accommodation with perfect view” Spent one week in Gran Canaria to celebrate my husband's birthday. We had never been before but will certainly be back. Weather was great especially when it meant missing the snow at home. Lots to see and do and plenty of choice of restaurants. The best part for me and my husband was the stunning views from our accommodation while our children loved the pool which they had to themselves a lot of the time.

“Great Relaxing Holiday” Excellent location in the south of the island only five minute drive from the amadores beach. The apartment is in a lovely well kept complex with a family size pool deep and shallow for all the family. The apartment is basic but very clean and two excellent size double bedrooms with plenty of cupboard space for clothes and bags. Outside eating to the rear is excellent and private for a quiet evening meal and drink. Would definitely stay in this apartment complex again owner was a pleasure to deal with from start to finish of the holiday.
