Lovely Rosebud Cottage is stylish but traditional. Beautifully converted and in the midst of a conservation area, it offers wonderfully light and bright accommodation for three.

The cosy sitting room is a lovely place to chill out whilst next door is the attractive separate well equipped kitchen. The delightful main bedroom has beautiful hand painted cabinets and a Victorian fireplace, whilst the second bedroom has the best views of the wonderful garden flowers.

Guests adore the cottage garden and sit outside relaxing on the garden seats. At the back you can listen to the mill stream running behind the house.

The location is truly ideal for walkers as you can be in the South Downs footpath within minutes of leaving the cottage. You'll find great books and leaflets with ideas for routes, along with local maps.

It's a fantastic place for anyone wanting the explore Sussex - historic rural Steyning is a lovely base with pubs, tea shops and restaurants on the doorstep! The Sussex coast and Brighton are nearby, with easy access to London. A perfect spot for a romantic getaway too ..... and brilliant for garden lovers.

The free 24 hour WiFi is appreciated by most guests but also makes it suitable for corporate lets. Longer lets are possible outside the peak season.

Small children need to be supervised outside as there is a steep bank leading down to the mill stream the far side of the garden fence. The bathroom, with a bath & powerful overhead shower, is downstairs (so may not be suitable for anyone with mobility problems).

There are regular local bus services and trains to Brighton and London within 5 miles. Parking is possible in the street.

The South East England region

Sussex is a beautiful county in the South East of England with a long coastline and a lovely ridge of hills - the South Downs National Park. Although there is access to London by train ( in an hour and a quarter from Shoreham by Sea) you can also enjoy the Sussex countryside with its peaceful traditional villages.

Temperatures in the South East above average for England - the usual maximum temperatures in the summer is around 21 degrees (70 Fahrenheit) ©

Steyning is a picturesque small town at the foot of the South Downs National Park.It is off the tourist trail, yet waiting to be discovered, with a fascinating museum - open throughout the year - Norman church and many buildings of historic and architectural interest. There are some great tea shops, pubs and restaurants - all within walking distance from the cottage.

Steyning is an ideal location for walkers - just a mile and half from the South Downs Way. Chanctonbury Ring, a well known local landmark with stunning downland views, is just 3 miles away. There are many possible walks at different levels of difficulty.

For a complete contrast head to Brighton - a vibrant city - just a half an hour's drive. Visit the spectacular Brighton Pavilion, take a walk on the the pier and make sure you wander through the quaint South Lanes.

If you just want a day at the seaside it is a 15 minute drive to Shoreham Beach on the Sussex coast. Alternatively there is an hourly bus service from Steyning.©
