Walnut Cottage is a charming restored stone house situated in a quite and beautiful village with stunning views of the surrounding countryside only 10 minutes from Saint Antonin Noble Val. It has three large bedrooms and two full bathrooms with a large living and dining area and newly fitted kitechen. It has been beautifully renovated by its current owners. The property includes 12 acres of fields, meadows , a forest and a stream and the whole area is buzzing with wildlife.The area is quite steep in places and partly overgrown with some nettles and though good for exploring it is not suitable for small children to play without supervision.
Rolling countryside of sunflowers and lavender fields , plus the majestic charm of the vineyards is something you will appreciate every day

The Midi-Pyrenees / Tarn-et-Garonne region
The climate of the Midi-Pyrenees is typified by mild winters and long warm summers. This area is very green with dramatic gorges, rivers , forests and rolling farmland .There are many historical towns and villages with market squares and narrow streets dating from the XII'th century.
The area boasts many natural attractions such as underground caves and grottos , rivers , forests and gorges
Although you might feel you are miles away from civilisation, you are not, because from St Michel de Vax you can easily visit ten villages classified as amongst the most beautiful in France including St Antonin Noble Val, Penne, Bruniquel, and Cordes. There is also the city of Albi with its imposing red brick cathedral.
St Antonin Noble Val / St Michel de Vax area
The town of St Antonin Noble Val has a very popular Sunday market where fresh fruit and vegetables , cheese wine and other local produce is invitingly displayed along with many local handicrafts. The town has several restaurants and bars where the evening can be enjoyed in the company of the friendly and welcoming locals.
Cordes Sur Ciel is a spectacular bastide town perched on top of a hill whose steep cobbled streets can be leisurely explored. The town boasts a medieval festival and many visitors take the chance to join the parade in costumes from medieval times. Children love the face painting and the musical performers while the parents can enjoy the food and wine. There are several museums , art galleries and restaurants where lunch can be enjoyed from terraces with spectacular views
The area is of particular interest to those who may want to enoying canoeing on the Aveyron river , cycling, walking, rock climbing , caving, horse riding and bird watching. There is a small resort with a swimming pool less than 20 minutes away by car. For the children there is a water park with heated pool and activities at nearby Cordes
A local train journey from Cordes through the gorges to the historic village of Najac is not to be missed.
The countryside around St Michel is teeming with wildlfe including deer, wild boar, owls, bats and many species of birdlife.
The area around the nearby town of Gaillac is famous for its local wines and there are many producers where you will be invited to taste the wine and tour the vineyard. Competitions are held every year.
There is a golf course just outside Gaillac where the view of Albi from the hole number 10 is quite superb and several others in the area (www.golf-midi-pyrenees.com)

How to get there
BY AIR St Antonin Noble Val is very well served by both Rodez (Ryannair) and Toulouse (Easyjet, BA, EU Jet etc) airports. We recommend that you hire a car from the airport. www.holidayautos.co.uk
BY CAR If driving from the channel ports, avoid getting lost in Paris (as so many do!) by following signs to Paris until you see signs to Bordeaux and then on to Toulouse – Simple! This will take you east around Paris, avoiding the dreaded ‘Periphique’.
BY TRAIN www.eurostar.com will take you to PARIS and from there connect with the south bound sleeper train to Toulouse .

Further details indoors: The house has recently been renovated by its owners, keeping its original features including a fabulous huge fireplace, exposed stone walls and beams. It has an open dining room-kitchen making the living area an easy and cosy place in the house. Upstairs there are 3 bedrooms available.
Further details outdoors: The lanes are very quiet with hardly any cars around and the natural beauty takes your breath away. There is plenty of wildlife too , such as Owls, Woodpeckers and Deer that come and go around the area . The open counrtryside of over 12 acres opposite the house is part of the property with a stream and woods making ideal places to explore.
