About the home

This is a ground floor apartment finished and furnished to a high standard. There is a large open plan kitchen/ diner and lounge, which leads on to the front balcony where you can enjoy alfresco dining and relaxing drinks. The front balcony is furnished with a table, parasol and chairs. The kitchen is well-equipped whether you want to prepare full meals or snacks, and you have the choice of eating inside or outside.

The large swimming pool has an area for toddlers and there is also a separate small plunge pool. With food and drink available all day from the pool bar and the restaurant, you can relax here without leaving the complex. However, if you want to go the beach there is a free shuttle bus service to and from Kumkoy at various times throughout the day. On the beach you will find an array of water sports available.

For golfers, the well-known resort of Belek is approximately 25 minutes drive.

In Kumkoy and Side there are lots of shops, restaurants and bars, all of which are open to very late. There are also some nightclubs for those who want to stay up even later.

There are many places to visit such as the Roman ruins in ancient Side, the Manavgat Falls, the Roman theatre at Aspendos, and you can't visit Turkey without experiencing a Turkish bath and massage.

Note 1: The shuttle bus operates less frequently between November and March.

Facilities

Further details indoors:
We have furnished this to a high standard as we use the apartment ourselves. Two separate bedrooms with under-bed storage, large kitchen/dining room/lounge. There are 2 balconies, one off the master bedroom and one off the lounge. We think there is everything you need for a relaxing holiday.

Although linen and towels are provided, please bring your own towels for the beach/pool.

With hot and cold air conditioning, and a shared heated indoor pool, Jacuzzi and sauna, this apartment is suitable for use all year round.

If you want to stay in and watch a DVD there is a large selection to choose from.

For the children, a Playstation 2 with lots of games.

We have supplied an iPod docking station for you to use with your own iPod.

Wi-fi internet access is available in the apartment, at the pool bar and the restaurant for use with your own laptop.

Tennis rackets can be borrowed from the restaurant, but we have also supplied two in the apartment.

Further details outdoors:
Both outdoor pools have sun-loungers, cushions and parasols provided free of charge.

The outdoor pools are open from April to October, while the indoor pool, sauna & Jacuzzi are available from November to March.

There is a pool bar with seating area, which serves food and drinks as well as an indoor cafeteria / restaurant, both of which stay open till around midnight.

You can play table tennis indoors, tennis on the all-weather court or work out in the gym, which has a panoramic view of the Taurus mountains.

The complex is surrounded by a wall and the entrance has 24-hour security.

Further details

The indoor pool is open from November to March, and the outdoor pools from April to October.

Conditions

A non refundable deposit of 25% is due at the time of booking to secure your stay with the balance due 6 weeks before your departure date.

A security deposit of £100 is required at the same time as the balance payment. The security deposit is against breakages/damage and will be refunded to you within 14 days of your stay, subject to a satisfactory property inspection and return of the keys.

Smoking is only on the balcony as there is a smoke detector in the apartment.

The property is suitable for children.

Elderly or infirm - although this is a ground floor apartment, there are steps leading into the apartment block and there are also steps going down to the facilities at the bottom part of the complex.

The Mediterranean Coast region

Turkey has varying climates in the different regions of the country. Ilica is in the south of Turkey on the Mediterranean coast, which has a typical Mediterranean climate with dry, hot summers and over 300 days of sunshine per year with temperatures not going below an average 14oC (57oF) from December to February during the day. This makes it an all year round resort, very popular with golfers during the winter.

There are many beautiful natural sights in the area below the Taurus mountains such as canyons, rivers and waterfalls.

Antalya boasts the splendid Duden Falls; at the upper falls you can picnic and even walk behind the curtain of water falling, while the lower falls, which cascade over the cliff, are best seen by boat.

In Alanya you can visit the ruins of the 2500 year old citadel, which sits at the top of castle rock overlooking the harbour and old town.

The Side / Ilica area

Ilica is a small village close to the popular resorts of Kumkoy and Side with the golf resort of Belek approximately 25 minutes away.

There are many places of interest to visit that are not far from Ilica, including what is known as the world's finest surviving Roman theatre at Aspendos. Still currently used, the great Pavarotti performed here. During June and July it hosts opera, ballet and musical performances.

North of Aspendos is the stunning Koprulu Canyon on the way to the ruins of the ancient city of Selge.

The Sorgun forest to the east of Side offers walks and horse riding along sandy trails.

Manavgat boasts its attractive waterfall and a weekly Monday market where you can buy designer t-shirts and jeans, hand crafted embroidery, shoes and leather goods. The free shuttle bus from the Four Seasons will take you to the market on a Monday. Alternatively there are boat trips, which include a stop-off at the market along with a visit to the Falls.

Even closer to Ilica, in Side, you can visit the ancient Roman ruins of the temple of Apollo, the museum and the amphitheatre. There is a lovely little harbour with restaurants and bars where you can relax with a drink and admire the view.

Side and Kumkoy have loads of shops open all day till around midnight where you can haggle just like the market. There are also many restaurants and bars and a few night clubs.

The beach between Kumkoy and Side to the east, and Evrenseki to the west is one long stretch of golden sand with many water sports available including scuba diving, paragliding and jet skis. You can now enjoy a relaxing stroll along the new promenades between the resorts.

There are many places selling trips; boat trips, day trips, white water rafting, dolphin watching, jeep safaris, quad biking, and more.

For the children there is also a water park near Antalya.

GOLF
The golf courses at Belek are only 25 minutes drive from the Four Seasons.
Golfers wishing to experience and enjoy the wonderful courses in Belek, which is fast becoming one of the best golfing destinations in Europe, can join the Side Golf Society and through them enjoy reduced green fees and receive discounts in the restaurants and bars.

According to the Side Golf Society, the current golfing boom in Belek means that often, at peak times, it is difficult to get a tee time, as the local hotels have block bookings for their guests. The Society has contacts with all the courses to obtain good tee times throughout the year, and can provide transportation.

Members pay an annual subscription of 50 Euros to the Society and will receive regular updates and news about forthcoming events.

The golf season is October to March and so it is cheaper to play from April to September (because it's a lot hotter!).

The nearest airport is Antalya, approximately 40 minutes drive from Four Seasons and served by the major UK airports all the year round. The flight is between 4 and 4 & a half hours.

* We can arrange a transfer to and from the airport at a cost of £38 each way for up to 4 people.

* Car hire can be arranged locally for around £20 per day, but a car is not essential.
There are car hire companies in the airport; however, if it is your first visit we suggest that you don't drive from
the airport. Petrol will cost you about the same as the UK.

* From Scotland all direct flights are with Thomas Cook and Thomson.

N.B. A visa is required for British nationals to enter Turkey unless they are cruise ship passengers who enter the country for a day trip and return to the ship the same day. British citizens may obtain a multiple entry visitor's visa valid for 90 days at the port of entry on payment of ten pounds sterling in cash (Scottish currency is not accepted).

“Great Holiday” We had a great time at the Four Seasons in October 2011. Weather was fantastic apart from one day of rain. Apartment and complex beautiful and well maintained with helpful, friendly staff.
