The balcony is truly stunning and when i am staying there this is where i spend most of my time, reading books, chatting with friends, entertaining, watching the world go by or the sunsets with a glass of local Fogo wine (its an aquired taste!).
The main master bedroom has a double bed fitted wardrobe, bedside tables and a large set of drawers. A separate en suite toilet/ shower room is attached to this room. Patio doors open onto your own private bedroom balcony on the other side of the building.

The Barlavento Islands / Sal Island region
Year round sunshine in the Cape Verde Islands. Less than 6 hours direct flight from the UK. Ex Portuguese colony, now independent and dependent on tourism. The reason Sal has grown as a tourist destination over the years is its wonderful sandy beaches, dry climate, warm temperatures, and friendly people. For a laid-back holiday, where you can relax, this is the place. Only 10 minutes transfer time from airport to the villa.

Floating off the west coast of Africa, ten barefoot and very different island paradises wait to whip your breath away. Each one is dramatically different, from bounty-like blonde sands backed by jungle-like scenery to volcanic monochrome landscapes peppered with pastel-painted towns. Yes, the beaches are mind-bogglingly gorgeous. And the colourful blend of cultures from Africa, Portugal and Brazil will have you charmed from the moment you arrive.
Cape Verde’s bounty-like beaches instantly grab your attention. Miles of utterly breathtaking porcelain-white sands stretch as far as the eye can see, seductively sliding into glass-like seas. Santa Maria’s unspoilt seashore curves around the coastline for over 7km, so whether you want to stay close to the action near the water sports centres and beach bars or crave the solitude of the sand dunes, you can always find your own piece of paradise. Stroll along the sands and spot the island of Boavista on the horizon. Reel in a Blue Marlin or Yellowfin Tuna. Learn to windsurf across the waves. Or simply sit under the shade of a raffia-style parasol and watch an energetic game of volleyball. However you choose to unwind here - it's most definitely a desert island dream.
The people are a mixture of African and European with approximately 70% of the population being of mixed race. The official language of the islands is Portuguese, which widely spoken and used in newspapers and anything that is written. Instead they use Creole, their national language, based on African languages but with additions from several European languages. Even this can differ from island to island. More recently English has been taught as a foreign language in schools. The religion of the islands is largely Christian, with most people being Catholic.
Idyllic year round temperatures in the high twenties and virtually no rain makes the Islands the ideal getaway whatever the time of year. Their privileged position in the Atlantic means they enjoy fairly constant cooling breezes which keep the atmosphere almost free from humidity. Rainfall is minimal throughout the year and is most likely to occur during the months of July and October.

Sal really appeals to ocean lovers who enjoy the simple things in life. Some things are very European and similar to the Cannary Islands, other areas are significantly more basic, very unspoilt and beautiful.

We are just back from a wk on Sal and had a great holiday in Santa Maria, the apartment was spacious, modern well equipped and spotlessly clean. The large balcony offered great sea views and we were just a stones throw from Josh Angulo's surf school, the perfect place to sit and watch the sun go down. Santa Maria centre is a 10 minute stroll away and it was lovely to try out all the nice beach restaurants along the way. I would wholeheartedly recommend this apartment and Sal to anyone.

A nice, spacy and tidy appartment with a big balcony overviewing the beach and ocean in a 27 degrees sunny climate. What more can you wish?
Especially when it's situated at a quiet beach, among locals and owners, a mile away from the madding tourist crowd :-)
All facilities and amenities are on a short walking distance, with daily fresh fish on the pier (that tuna was a killer) and good restaurants on the beach (Barracuda!).
And for the rest 'dolce far niente' with reading, listening to music, drinking tea or other spirits, long conversations, dinner by candlelight, ... on the balcony.
Thx to David, the owner, who happens to be a nice and correct gentleman, who helps you all the way.

The apartment is really nice and spacious with a large balcony overlooking the sea. It is a bit on the ouskirts of the town, therefore it's not a 5/5 but a 4/5 stars. The town is a small walk away (10 mins or so). There's a few showps nearby and a really nice surf bar which serves great food and is also good for renting surf equiment.
Tip: rent a car to see the island, and if your'e a kiteboarder spend that 12 euro's a day to get a cab to transport you to kitebeach and pick you up.
Many thanks for the review. As proven by this review the flat is Large spacious and nice...!
yes it is a 10 minute walk into town, its not far and its a nice walk. Many of the other resort locations are miles outside town and you need to catch a taxi in and out.
The balcony is fabulous with panoramic views over virtually 180 degrees along the beach. The nearby surf shack is The Josh Angulo Surf/Kite/Windsurf School which is about 300m away. They serve great food, cold beer and ice creams!
Am really glad you enjoyed your holiday
