The Umbria region

The Region has a wealth of beautiful hilltop towns which are picture postcard perfect. Examples of these are Todi, Orvieto, Montone, Gubbio, Assissi to name just a few.

For the lovers of Gastronomy, black and white truffles, porcini mushrooms, wonderful Gelato, wild boar and much much more.

Passignano Sul Trasimeno has wonderful summer festivals and many are historical.

Umbria Jazz and Umbria Chocolate festival, both world renowned take place in Perugia each year.

For wine lovers there are some wonderful vineyards to explore and sample some of the local Umbrian wine.

The climate in this area is wonderful with warm summers and beautiful colours in Spring and Autumn making it a place to visit most of the year.

The famouse cities of Rome, Florence, Siena and San Gimignano are all within easy driving distance.

Passignano sul Trasimeno

Lake Trasimeno is Italys fourth largest lake and has a vivid and colouful history. The battle of Lake Trasimeno and one of its combatants, Hannibal is well known and one can take a walk in Hannibals footsteps. Due to its fighting history there are many fortifications and the wonderful Castle and ramparts of Castiglione Del Lago is well worth a visit.

There are super boat trips from Passignano Sul Trasimeno to Isola Maggiore.

There are many water sports available.

Lakeside restaurants, gelateria and bars abound.

There are many festivals during the summer months including Trasimeno Blues, Festival of the boats and more.

"Wonderful, quiet getaway in the hills of Umbria"
