Included is the use of a basket with necessaries for a picnic (no food), including a plaid and beach towels, and you can also borrow folding chairs for in the car.
After Breakfast the choice is up to you:
Visiting local markets, the sights of Apulia, the beaches, just wandering the narrow streets of the ancient part of some town or other, enjoy the Italian coffee and dolce or a cocktail on the terrace of a bar and watch passers by in anticipation of a good Apulian lunch or dinner.
Sometimes guests come home in the afternoon for a nap or just lazing on the verandas.
We also have some DIY hiking routes because some prefer to enjoy their holidays slowly and walk from here tot f.i. Martina Franca, have lunch and come back by the local train.
There's something to do for all tastes and Villa Lavanda is a good central starting point for it all.

About this location
The Puglia region
There are many reasons to make this area interesting!
To name a few: When you want to go to the beach you have the choice between the Ionian- and the Adriatic Sea. The nearest beach at 23 minutes and the season is very long from May till the end of October.
Apulia has beautiful landscapes, caves and seacaves, is hilly, a rich nature, many castles, a rich history.
There's something for everybody here, being it Baroc architecture, pitturesque old townparts, harbours, the Trulli, being it with lots together in Alberobello and the Irtria Valley or here and there in the country-side and near farmhouses.
The Apulian kitchen is worldfamous, you will not be abble tot resist the antipasti, and we have good local wines.
We can tell you here and now that the bar with the best icecream is in Locorotondo. In the summermonths every bar has its homemade icecreams.
Local markets, antique markets, fishmarkets, local festivals and religious festivals and parades,
In Noci there is a big choice in restaurants and eating in a restaurant is not expensive here.
We can also advise you on several other places where you might want to have a go at the local kitchen.
Noci with a very interesting weekly market and many local events.
A good choice of restaurants from pizzeria to Slow Food Restaurant.
Bari is a great town with the Cathedral of Saint Nicolas at the edge of the ancient town, Lungo Mare and many elegant shops.
Taranto is a Marine Harbour and famous for its fresh fish and mussels.
Castellana Grotte: interesting caves where in summer they also have events and markets.
Polignano: Sea caves and picturesque old town.
Lecce: Baroque, baroque, baroque!
Monopoli: rich cathedral, old defence wall, fishing harbour, great beaches.
Alberobello, on the World Heritage list for its many trulli.
The same goes for the Itria Valley, also known for its lyric festival.
Even Matera in Basilicata is only 45 min. away and worth spending a whole day!
People used to live in caves there and there are also cave-churches with frescoâ??s.
In general: extensive olive groves on the Adriatic coast and citrus groves on the Ionian coast.
Beaches on 2 coasts nearby, the nearest on 23 km. The Apulian food and especially its antipasti are famous throughout the world!
