The French Riviera - Cote d'Azur region

Nice is an amazing place with all year round sunshine, blue seas and authentic food. It is very easy to get around the area, buses and tram cost 1 euro each way - the bus&tram stop is 5 minute walk from my apartment.

You can try and explore new towns, like Monaco, Cannes, Grasse, St Paul de Vence, Italy etc.. Don't forget: the Monaco F1 Grand Prix, Nice Jazz festival and Cannes Film Festivals.

Nice Nice on the Cote d'Azur. The apartment is like: waking up quietly in the morning, putting on your shorts, wear your flip-flops and go to buy the croissants downstairs. Coming up, opening the windows and enjoy the view on the little church tower, overlooking those tourist arriving for their sight seeing tour. Have your breakfast and afterwards walk to the fantastic (farmers) market and buy the ingredients for tonight's dinner, or eat out in the many good restaurants (try the fondue restaurant!).

Every season Nice is beautiful, and oh so close to Monaco, Cannes, perfumeries of Grasse, St Paul de Vence, Italy and the fantastic French Alps. Only 1 hour drive to the ski slopes - nearest ski piste of Isola 2000. Well, I hope you enjoy my apartment as much as I do when I am there! When you fly in, take bus 98 and in 20 min for only €6 you are there.

"Great location, reasonably priced and excellent service from owner Frank!"

Great rustic apartment in a fantastic location in Vieux Nice ( old town). 2 minute walk from restaurants ,shops and daily fruit and veg markets and 4 minutes walk from the beach and and promenade! While the apartment is a little dated it is fully equiped and very well set up for a self catering holiday There are a number of steps(64!) to climb to get to the apartment so it is not suitable for the elderly or disabled. With the windows open in the kitchen/living area at times it can be noisy at night with a number of bars etc in the area so keep this in mind if you are someone who prefers to go to bed early! There is no air conditioning in the apartment and it can get a little warm but there is a fan available ( although like most fans it is a little loud!). Overall though I would have no hesitation in recommending this apartment due to its location , value for money , and due to the owner Frank( ably assisted by Rocky!) who made a big effort to ensure that our stay was very enjoyable! Thanks guys!!

"Great place to stay!!!"

We managed to get this apartment at short notice when the previous apartment was flooded out. We were met by Rocky, the agent who showed us round the apartment. It is in one of the older buildings in Nice (Rue Place Vielle is an indicator) and has lots of character while possessing all necessary amenities. That is, for us, a very positive aspect. The only drawback is that it is on the third floor and the 64 steps need to be taken at a pace commensurate with fitness and years! By the end of our week the climb had become slightly easier... The location is perfect! There are restaurants, bars, shops and a daily market within 100 mtrs and the Prom. Des Anglais another 50 after the market! We can recommend the Comptoir du Marche to eat as it is not expensive and the food is excellent! For a special meal to impress we had our Anniversary meal at Oliviera. Very special food with variety of olive oils - taste the tiramisu with his Olive oil! Remarkable! Book early wiuth both... We will try to go back and can recommend this apartment. Inexpensive, professionally administered and the deposit refunded promptly! What more can I say...

"Fantastic Apartment"

We rented this apartment in June 2014 for 8 nights. As you can see from previous reviews, the location of this apartment is fantastic. 2 minute walk to the beach, 3 minute walk to supermarket/stores and seconds away from all the great restaurants and bars. The apartment has a fully fitted kitchen and fridge with small freezer,a shower room and a main bathroom. A very spacious lounge/dining area with two gorgeous windows looking over the alleys of the old town. The apartment is fully equipped with everything you can think of, from fans (when it gets hot) to hair dryer and even a washing machine. There is a flights of stairs to get to the apartment so access for anyone with difficulty getting up stairs may be a problem. Organizing the apartment was a breeze, the owner was great at answering emails and providing us with lots of information and guidance. I will be recommending this place to any one who will be staying in Nice and will be staying again next time.

"Excellent apartment in the heart of old Nice!"

We can't praise this apartment enough in terms of location & facilities. All our dealings with Frank were excellent & he met us on the Friday & gave us early access & loads of information about things to do & even let us stay later on our final day as our flight was quite late in the evening. The apartment has loads of character & charm & couldn't be more centrally located as it is just around the corner from the cathedral square. Public transport was cheap & easy & Nice is such a lovely place to walk around. The beach is 5mins stroll from the apartment with the old town a real gem with its narrow alleys & squares & the excellent market. The newer city is fantastic for shopping with its big stores a must for anyone with children who like designer labels. We loved our stay & cannot praise Nice, Frank & the apartment enough & we will look to return again in the future!

"Perfect Location"

Location of this apartment is the Best! it's been our second holiday in Nice and for us location is very important, so to be just around the corner from Cathedral square is more than perfect. Everythign is on your doorstep: Ravioli Bars, Cours Saleya market, bars, restaurants, you're in the heart of Old town. Owner Fran Otten was very friendly and nice and even suggested some day trips. Was pleasure to deal with him when finalising contract, payment, etc. Apartment itself - is all you need, kitchen with all amenities incluind dishwasher (which couldn't be handier on you're on holidays), living area, bedroom, wifi, and we found having too bathrooms saves time in the morning :)

"Great location, very nice appartment, stairs are a challenge"

This apartment is situated in the very heart of old Nice, you can hardly get any more central than this. The appartment is nice, with everything you could want for a stay in the city. The double bed is fine, the bathrooms are good and the kitchen is functional. During the day you will be entertained by a number of streetartists, who play in the street below. You just have to stick your head out the window. This apartment is not suitable for people with a poor condition however; the stairs are a real challenge, especially with heavy bags or suitcases. We stayed here at the height of summer, and the apartment was really very hot, especially at night. The street below was very noisy until early morning, so opening a window was not really an option. The location made everything worthwile though: only minutes to the beach and the market and restaurants on the course Saleya. We would certainly recommend this apartment.

"Character and convenience in the Old Town"

We loved our stay in this atmospheric apartment in Nice Old Town. There are a fair number of steps to reach it - which we had been warned to expect, so that was no problem. The accommodation is very comfortable and enjoys the luxury of two bathrooms. The kitchen is separated from the living area by a bar / counter and it is wonderfully light and superbly equipped. It was great to be able to open the shutters in the morning and eat breakfast by the open window listening to the town waking up below. There is a constant burble from the streets in the evening but this disappears the moment the windows are closed. The thick walls and tiled floors keep everywhere cool. A special delight is to be able to walk through the famous flower market (just a minute or two away) and then on to the beach. After a morning swim, buy bread at one of the many bakeries, fruit from a stall and then "home" for coffee and breakfast - so much better than a hotel.

"charming location in Nice Old Town"

This apartment has a great location less than 5 minutes walk from public transport and very close to the promenade. It has restaurants, shops etc on its doorstep, which means that it can get noisy but this is one of the charms of city centre location. Being on the 3rd floor with no lift means a 64 step climb from the street although this is stressed in the adverts. We visited during a heatwave and aircon would have been great but, for the rental we paid, could not be justified. The neighbours were unbelievably quiet. While the apartment can sleep six and has two bedrooms, it is probably best used by a couple or family. While basic, it is remarkably well equiped with some good gear. The wifi works fine. Apart from the price and location, a big plus is the owner who did not add to the basic price with cleaning, deposits etc. we paid exactly what was quoted at the start. He was also flexible on arrival and departure times. Nice itself is a great place to visit and public transport is cheap. buses are 1 euro throughout the cote d'azur or 4 euros for a day ticket for metropolitan Nice. Sit on the right hand side of the buses to Eze and Cap Ferrat for superb panoramas. A specific bargain is the SNCF "carte isabelle" that gives a day's travel from Frejus to Ventimiglia and inland to Grasse and Tende for 12 euros. The trip to Tende is amazing and has an english speaking guide who is very informative and manages to give her commentary in english and french seamlessly. We flew from Glasgow and flights were pretty punctual and the aircraft seemed to have better legroom than usual. Baggage reclaim was remarkably quick.
