About the home

Beautifully located apartment on the Promenade des Anglais, Nice's most prominent address with spectacular sea views and steps from the beach. An open plan studio apartment with fully equipped kitchen, bathroom and terrace for dining alfresco and admiring the views.

Ideal for exploring the city on foot, with the beaches directly across the street, offering rental chaise lounge, umbrellas, snorkelling and other equipments, and some offering supervised children's play and paddling pool areas. A short ten minute stroll along the Promenade takes you to the famous Cours des Saleys outdoor market, with its fabulous offerings of fresh fruit, vegetables, local delicacies from the area, and great outdoor dining.

You have supermarkets, cafes and restaurants on either side of the apartment, and should you wish to go further afield, the bus stops on the road behind the Promenade taking you to the train station, where Cannes, Monte Carlo, Antibes, etc., are a short drive away for those who wish to holiday without a car. Great people watching from you balcony, or take part in renting a bicycle, roller blading, or just relaxing in the sun with a great book and a glass of the wonderful rose wine from Provence.

This apartment is located in a luxury building, with easy access to all that Nice has to offer. You are centrally located for all of the amenities, and can walk to most places by foot. The apartment is located on the fourth floor with an elevator/lift, is fully air conditioned and is light, bright and airy. There is a large balcony easily accommodating 3-4 people for dining out, and there are great restaurants all around you as well as on the beach, for some great alfresco dining. The bathroom is a shower stall, with wc and bidet and the beds are configured as a full size queen bed, plus a divan sofa bed - both of which are very comfortable. The kitchen has all the usual implements, washing machine, oven, stove top, coffee maker, teapot, cooking utensils, etc.

Parking is available on the street, with a small charge of one euro an hour, nights and lunchtimes are free of charge. If you park beach side, parking is free all the time. You cross the street, and you are on the beach. There are plenty of supermarkets, shops, bakeries, restaurants, cafes, bars in the neighbourhood on the same block as your apartment, for easy shopping and convenience of carrying.

The only additional charge is for the use and cleaning of the sheets, towels and linens. 25 pounds for two 40 pounds for four persons.

The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Alpes-Maritimes region

Nice has truly one of the best micro climates year round. Lots of sunshine and blue skies, even in January and February. During the day you can wander around dressed like it is summer in early Spring and late Autumn/Fall, it cools down in the evening where you would need a jacket in off season, but the summer months are glorious, hot and sunny with lovely cooling breezes from the sea. The bay of Nice (the baie des Anges) is spectacular, day or night, but at night all lit up it is called the "queens necklace" as it resembles a diamond necklace with all the lights along the coast road.

The history of Nice has much to offer with its original ownership being Italian, the architecture has the beautiful colouring of the Cote d'Azur, with incredible lighting reflecting from the pastel shades of the buildings in Old Town. Nice has many fine museums, art galleries and great antique fairs at the Cours des Saleys outdoor market, as well as many outdoor activities such as jogging, hiking, biking, walking, swimming, sailing, fishing, and even skiing in the winter months a short one hour drive away.

Fashion in Nice is incredible, so for the ladies, make sure to make time for some local shopping, the prices are great and there are some truly one of a kind finds in the many boutiques in the Alphonse Karr area, as well as the larger boulevard of Avenue Jean Medecin. Great buys in wines and local delicacies to bring home, or enjoy in your apartment or dining alfresco picnic style on the beach.

The Nice / Promenade des Anglais area

Carnevale in February is a fabulous way to kick start Spring. Days are gloriously sunny and warm with the colourful floats of flowers and costumed gentry lining the Promenade des Anglais, and finishing in the evening with a spectacular firework display on the Promenade des Anglais. No need to leave home you can watch this from your balcony on the Promenade or join the crowds in the action.

Great museums in Nice and nearby Antibes, and for those of you who like a little lady luck, Monte Carlo is a short train ride or drive away. Visit Antibes for the beautiful port and old town, and even go inland to Provence for the great outdoor market at Aix in Provence, easily accessible by local coach, or by car. Nice has a great opera, and is a hive of cultural activity. Check it all out by stopping in at the local Tourism Office on the Promenade des Anglais to get up to minute details of what is happening during your stay.

Excellent service with Easy Jet, RyanAir, British Airways, Delta Airlines, and other european airlines. Also easily accessible by rail, Nice station, or by car. Parking is available street side or beach side on the Promenade des Anglais. Car rentals are affordable and easily accessible. However, with this location you can reach all you need to by foot as you are in the centre of Nice and the famous Promenade des Anglais, the boulevard with seven kilometers of beach front.

“perfect location in wonderful city” Had great communication with owner who provided very useful information. The apartment was perfect for us right on the Promenade Anglais. Buses were very handy as was a supermarket. We would love to return one day. “Very good stay in the French Riviera” We stay every summer in another apartment from the same owner/site but in 2010 it was fully booked so we rented this. The apartment is in a nice location, and it's easy to walk to the center of Nice. Overall the vacation has been very pleasant and probably we will go back. “Excellent Value for your ,omey” A nice studio within walking distance to Nice town centre (25 min- 30 min) and its old town. It is on the 4th floor of a well maintained building right on Nice's famous Promenade Des Englais. The sea view is second to non. I love the fact that my son and I would go out for a swim in the beach which is only a stone throw infront of the apartment and get waved back by my wife from the balcony for breakfast The bus stops are close to the apartment so are off street parking It is no surprise that I have rented this apartment three times over the last years Response: So pleased to hear you enjoyed your time at Vague Blu and took advantage of all that the city of Nice has to offer - the beaches being only one of its' many assets, but an excellent one at that with such close proximity to the apartment itself. “A great location with fantastic views” Nice is a great destination well served with flights from the UK. Transfer from Nice airport is convenient with bus 98 for €4. Vague Blu is right on the Promenade de Anglais, bus stop Lenval from the airport is nearby. There is a convenient supermarket just arround the corner. The beach is across the road from the apartment. The appartment was clean and had all that we needed. My top tips are: Sign up for the "Velo Bleu" bike rental. It is just a great way to get to the old town and centre of Nice using the cycle lanes of the Promenade de Anglais. Get out and explore using the buses, €1 per trip. Try Mount Boron and Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat for a nearby change of scene. The only down side is the traffic noise from the Promenade de Anglais. It can be a bit intrusive as it is a busy road. There are however plenty of light controlled crossing points of the road making it easy and safe to cross.
