Old Forge I has two spacious double bedrooms, with queen size beds that can be separated to form single 3ft beds, both with en suite shower rooms and underfloor heating. The living room has very comfy sofas, a 42" smart TV, docking station, a log burner and dining area for 6 . The kitchen has all the appliances you need and granite worktops. There is full central heating throughout and all service water is supplied via a rainwater harvesting system. The garden has a patio area with garden furniture for your sole use, it is landscaped with beautiful flora to attract wildlife and fruit trees also an organic vegetable patch from which you can pick your vegetables for a complimentry meal.

For laundry there is a boot room containing washing machines,tumble dryers, heated drying racks, a sink, a hosing down area and a long bench for changing out of your gear after a days adventure.

The accommodation has been awarded 4 stars by Failte Ireland and is luxurious. It offers all that is required for active holidays, having so many loop walks and biking trails,horse riding,golf, swimming baths with stake park and play area. Lough Derg for the best fishing in Ireland ,sailing, water sking and all other water sports. Silvermines is a quiet sleepy village rapped in a mountain back drop, and is also perfect for getting away from it all, to relax in front of the log burner, read, paint or stroll along the river. There is a village pub and shop for groceries on your door step. Nenagh market town is 10 minutes drive for all the pubs,coffee shops,restaurants, supermarkets and boutiques.

A cleaning, shopping service and chef are available for you to book if required. Personal help with any bookings and directions is always available.

Only 30 minutes drive there is the best mountain bike forest in Ireland in the ballyhoura mountains, check it out utube video.

The Nenagh equestrian center is 10 minutes drive and holds up to 30 horses. beginners ,trecks ,beach rides,jumping.

Lough derg is beautiful and has the best fishing, gillies are available to show you the best fishing spots,also sailing,water skiing and great water side bars and restaurants in Killaloe, Ballina,and Garrykennedy.

Nenagh Golf course is 15 minutes drive also a pitch a putt is near by.

Killkee sandy beach has a fabulous dive center. The diving is amazing!

From Nenagh there are train and coach links to all parts of Ireland.

Silvermines is also a place to relax and spend all of your time, enjoy the beautiful countryside,the rolling hills and a pint of guinness across the road in Hickeys pub.


The award winning Silvermines is a rural village, peaceful and quiet. Along side the mountain river there is a nature trail and picnic area with so many different birds and wildlife, even bats!. There are wild horses,deer and goats which you might encounter whist walking or cycling in the silvermines mountain trails. There are old preserved stone Cornish engine pumping houses left over from the days of mining which you can explore.

The village has a pub , grocery shop and taxi service.

Only 10 minutes drive is the market town of Nenagh where you can find many pubs, coffee shops, restaurants, boutiques and supermarkets. There is a farmers and country market on Friday and Saturday where you can get home made preserves and artisan breads.

There is a Preserved Norman castle dating from the 11th century also a heritage and genealogy center to help find your ancestors.

"Home away from home!"

Paul is a gentleman, he couldn't do enough for us to make our stay comfortable, as for the cottage, it's beautiful, I could easily move in and stay, so clean, so well stocked, there wasn… More
