Newly renovated luxury holiday gite in the Loire Valley, France set in 2 acres of grounds with views to all sides across rolling countryside. This traditional farmhouse gite has been stylishly and sympathetically restored and comprises of a large farmhouse kitchen with handmade shaker style kitchen with all modern appliances and a stunning tuffeau stone fireplace containing a log burning fire. In 2010 free wireless internet connection has been added together with a phone line with unlimited free international telephone calls.
The substantial lounge and reading room provide home from home comforts and includes wide screen TV, DVD, British Sky Satellite decoder, IPod dock, stereo Hi-Fi and sumptuous leather settees and chair.
Upstairs there are three spacious bedrooms. The master en suite has a king-size bed with windows facing in three directions with views over the stunning countryside. The en suite bathroom has an oversize bath with overhead shower. The other bedrooms are equally spacious with one twin room and one double room. The main bathroom contains large bath and separate shower unit. The property has electric heating in the bedrooms and receptions rooms as well as two large log burning fires. There is also a separate utility room and WC downstairs and a mezzanine room which contains a full size fold out bed settee.
Outside the grounds are grassed with a large outdoor table, 6 reclining chairs and oversize sun parasol. New for 2010 is a large above ground pool measuring 20' by 12' by 4' which is fully filtered and benefits from a solar heating cover. A Charcoal BBQ is provided with all the necessary tools to enjoy the tranquil setting.

This property is nestled in the country side outside a small typically French village but is only 6 KM's from the nearest town which provides for all guests requirements. Within a 30 minute drive of the gite guests can reach a vast array of tourist attractions including the best known châteaux, vineyards and market towns. This area of France is very family friendly with a vast array of tourist attractions, spectacular zoos and many restaurants, all of which make children very welcome.
Golf is very popular in this region and the property is just 15 minutes from the internationally acclaimed Bauge Golf Club (discounted tickets can be purchased for those wishing to play a number of rounds of golf whilst in the Loire Valley region.
A holiday at Le Bois will suit all visitors including couple, families and the retired. By prior approval of the owners pets are allowed in this property.

The Loire Valley / Maine-et-Loire region
Often called the "Garden of France". the Loire Valley is an enchanted land of vineyards, flowers and rolling green hills dotted with more than a thousand chateaux. It is perhaps the charm of its gentle pace life that has, for centuries, made it a sought-after location for poets and writers. It is a step back through the history of some of France's finest works of art.
The Loire Valley was the favoured location of the French Kings and is renowned for its superb Châteaux and vineyards. The region has many facets and can cater for any type of holiday maker. There are activities such as taking a Kayak down the Loire River, hot air ballooning and parachuting.
For the slightly less adventurous there is an abundance of golf courses, fishing lakes and cycling routes. For simple sightseeing a week or twos holiday will just not be enough. The Loire has many tourist attractions to discover such as Regal Châteaux, troglodyte caves, pretty villages and some superb zoos and museums. The climate is pleasant all year round sharing the four seasons with the UK but with blue skies through spring, long hot summers, clear sunny autumns and mild winters.
The Meigne-le-Vicomte area
Locally there are many local facilities with the town of Noyant providing everything you may need for a stay at Le Bois. There is a supermarket with a 24 hours fuel station, butchers, bakers, banks and and array of restaurants and cafe bars. Friday each week bring the local market which is always worth a visit.

The property can be easily reached via the following methods:
By Car: Many guests use the Channel Tunnel which is less 5 hours of easy driving from the Tunnel to the door or Le Bois. There are may ferry options with Caen being just 3 hours away and alternative ports at St Malo, Dieppe and Zeebrugge. The toll roads in France are very well maintained and rarely busy.
By Air: The region is serviced by two main airports Tours which is just 40 minutes from the house (Ryan Air via Stanstead) and also Nantes which has an international airport services by (Ryan Air via Leeds Bradford, East Midlands, London Gatwick, London City). The travel time to Nantes from Le Bois is about one and a half hours drive time. Some visitors have also used the airport at Poitiers which is about a two and a half hour drive from the property.

We had a short stay at Le Bois and it was wonderful. We wish we had booked more time. The children loved exploring the extensive barns and paddocks. The parents loved relaxing in many of the seating areas both indoors and out. |
