Mediterranean taste mingled with oriental scent for this extra large colonial villa by the sea of Polhena, Matara, southern Sri Lanka. Surrounded by one acre coconut grove the villa the villa has a splendid new swimming pool with kids corner, water fall, watery sun bed jacuzzi; swept by the sea wind all day long, guests can swim in front of the villa or in the nearby most famous Polhena public beach. A swimming pool has just been finished.

This, comfortable, spacious modern villa is set in a secluded lush tropical garden in a quiet area in the village of Polhena. The villa has been designed with "keeping cool" in mind in this hot climate. The high ceilings ensure a constant cooling air flow throughout the villa.

The villa is tastefully decorated. All bedrooms are en-suite with hot water showers, have comfortable beds with mosquito nets.

Can accommodate up to 8 people and up to 17 people if the three separate cottages are also rented by our guests. . Main building is composed of three independent bedrooms with private bathroom, a large kitchen fully equipped, dining and rest area. The cottages in the villa compound have just been completed and can sleep 4, 3 and 3 guests each. Guardian gardener 24 hours. Maid can be hired for very reasonable fares. Ideal for a group of friends or families with children wishing to spend an exotic vacation with the comfort of a private home and very reasonable weekly rent fees. Polhena is a small village by the sea, large town of Matara with all shops and facilities is at walking distance.

Hello Franny thank you for taking the time to review your stay at Deep Blue! Deep Blue HomeStay Accommodation is advertised on many different sites: nowhere it is mentioned it is a hotel! We are on the contrary proud having a place which is rated no 2 out of 250 other accommodations in our area on Booking Com, notwithstanding it is not a hotel. But we do provide a service that goes beyond a hotel customer expectations with free bikes rental, room service,Italian style breakfast, massage upon request, airport pick up, taxi and tours arrangements.....and much much more as you clearly state in your nice review. I don't either think you came to our place thinking to find A/C in your room/flat as we don't and will never have A/C in the rooms since we think it is the most unhealthy device you can offer your customers having instead conceived our rooms with the natural ventilation system that has been in use for centuries, need no reparations, fear no current black outs and if much more ecological. This is our philosophy and we do state it clearly everywhere Deep Blue is advertised. We thank you and hope you will come again!

Hello Jenny, thank you for staying with us at Deep Blue Cottage! We are at a loss in undestanding the rate you gave us (3 out of 5) cause you sound so enthusiastic about everything and the only complaint you make is our baldaquin antique double bed with sponge matress plus a top layer of one inch latex matress......yes the bed is an antique piece of furniture and it was a little noisy but would you rather have selected an anonymous and ugly bed for your night there? For you the answer......

Why can't I call Ruzaik (the owner) before booking?

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Ruzaik (the owner) a message.

If Ruzaik (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
