Poinciana
About the home
New for 2013, a villa enjoying wonderful views of the sea and mountains and in a quiet location yet close to many activities in Latchi such as water sports, cycling, hiking and fishing. The villa is well arranged, offering spacious modern accommodation, bedroom balconies and furnished with a modern, exquisite style. You will find a tempting 10m x 5m PRIVATE HEATED swimming pool surrounded in the garden, parasols and sun beds. During the cooler Winter months the villa has proper underfloor heating avaliable for use provided free of charge (Dec-Mid March) .
The beach is just a 3 minute walk away and the picturesque fishing harbour of Latchi with its famous restaurants a 5 min walk. At night you can sit and relax in the local beach bar, enjoy the music, and even take a midnight swim and return to the bar ! Charming Polis is a 5 min drive with its wide range of taverns and restaurants, many situated around the paved town square. And of course the legendary Baths of Aphrodite are only 4.0 km away.
The villa has privacy, its own private heated swimming pool and garden area, magnificent mountain and sea views and is absolutely perfect for a quiet and relaxing holiday. Take a look at some of the pictures here to get an example of what I mean. Situated just outside Latchi village near the isolated, rugged and scenic Akamas Peninsula, a visit to the legendary Baths of Aphrodite is a must as is boat journey up the Akamas peninsula to stop in many of the coves such as the blue lagoon to swim or snorkel. Ramblers will love the many walks available in the area as the hills and valley are completely unspoiled and simply pristine. This area of Cyprus is not suitable for those who are seeking a wild night life but perfect for a quiet, relaxing holiday. However for the younger generation visiting there are a few good nightclubs in the Latchi/Polis area and bustling Paphos is but a 35min drive away.

The Paphos region
The climate in the Paphos region is for long dry hot Summers where temperatures can reach up to 40c with 13.0 hours of sunshine and temperatures falling nicely down in the evening to lows of 22c-24c. The Winter months of Dec, Jan and Feb bring rain but temperatures still remain about 16-20C with an average of 5.0 hours on sunshine and sometimes with colder, fresher nights.
Whatever you desire, activity, tranquillity, good food, fine wine, golf, spas, walking and nature, the upper class Paphos region offers it all. The charming west coast town of Paphos focusses around an attractive little harbour whose picturesque open air fish restaurants line a quayside of fishing boats and laid back life. The historical and magical area of Latchi/Polis is unmissable to anyone looking for sun, sea and serenity.
For keen walkers and cyclists, the very nearby Akamas National Park offers a paradise of endless walks and cycle ways, 4*4 driving, wild animals and birds, fauna, fantastic sea views and secluded coves for snorkelling and swimming. Akamas is included in the official UNESCO world's heritage list of cultural and natural treasures. Please note cycles, mopeds and cars can all be hired locally in Latchi. A visit to the Troodos mountains and some of the famous monasteries is a must where you can view all of the West side of Cyprus.
For golfers, there are three quality , panoramic , courses within an hour’s drive, all open to visitors, namely the Aphrodite Hills, Secret Valley and Tsada Golf Clubs.
The Latchi / Arsinoe Beach area
Close by are the baths of Aphrodite with an exhilarating view over the bay. According to legends the baths are where Aphrodite took her beauty baths in a pool of a natural grotto shaded by a fig tree.My villa is situated about 3km out of the Akamas national park, the Akamas peninsula is an area of outstanding natural beauty. Sandy bays, deep gorges with varied landscapes.
Watersports and diving can be done in this area with 2 Padi diving schools located in Latchi and Paphos.
Jeef safari tours are incredibly popular within the Akamas peninsula.
With wine tasting and mounting biking there is sure to be something for everyone.

We stayed for 11 days , the first five we had constant problems with the electricity apparently common in Cyprus .The pool had a leak and needed topping up each day. The black metal sunbeds and astroturf look lovely but absorb the heat from the sun and do burn. Definitely not suitable for young families. Outside eating area offers no shade and keeps the sun most of the day. Inside the marble staircase is steep and the steps narrow to one side again not really suitable for young families or the elderly. Michael very helpful to book although our deposit has only been partially refunded as internet charges deducted. We thought they were included!! Response: This review is inconsistent with the review left by the same guest in the guest book in the villa and also by other guests both in the guest book and here on trip advisor. Electrical problems were temporary and fixed after 5 days like the guest says but they did not reflect the complete villa and could happen to any villa at any time. Weather they enjoyed was well above average and for 5 people they had a great villa for 10 days at a great price so they should be grateful. This guest is just being difficult and was trying to get a rebate off me for minor electrical problem which whilst a shame, once resolved were not a problem to the next guests and beyond. Internet charges fully stated on website and was only a deduction of £25. Deposit repaid less Internet charges within the 2 week timeframe as fully stated. Im not sure what age range these guests were are but my 85 year old grandmother is able to use the marble stairs perfectly well as there are bannisters both sides of the stairs to steady people if required. Villa perfectly suitable for young children and as you can see from previous reviews there have been plenty of families with young children. Im not able to control when and where guests get sun/shade. Always be wary of getting too much sun and apply adequate suncream. Do not spend too much time outside in the sun especially around 11am - 3 pm is the advice from dermatologists. |
