Poinciana
About the home
New for 2011, a villa enjoying wonderful views of the sea and mountains and in a quiet location yet close to many activities such as water sports, cycling, hiking, fishing......the list is endless !! The villa is well arranged, offering spacious modern accommodation, bedroom balconies and will be furnished with exquisite style. You will find a tempting 10m x 5m PRIVATE HEATED swimming pool surrounded by a garden, umbrellas and sun beds. During the cooler Winter months the villa has proper underfloor heating avaliable for use at a nominal charge.
The beach is just a 3 minute walk away and the picturesque fishing harbour of Latchi with its world famous restaurants a 5 min walk. At night you can sit and relax in the local beach bar, enjoy the music, and even take a midnight swim and return to the bar ! Charming Polis is a 5 min drive with its wide range of taverns and restaurants, many situated around the paved town square. And of course the legendary Baths of Aphrodite are only 3.0 km away.
The villa has privacy, its own private heated swimming pool and garden area, magnificent mountain and sea views and is absolutely perfect for a quiet and relaxing holiday. Take a look at some of the pictures here to get an example of what I mean. Situated just outside Latchi village near the isolated, rugged and scenic Akamas Peninsula, a visit to the legendary Baths of Aphrodite is a must as is boat journey up the Akamas peninsula to stop in many of the coves such as the blue lagoon to swim or snorkel. Ramblers will love the many walks available in the area as the hills and valley are completely unspoiled and simply pristine. This area of Cyprus is not suitable for those who are seeking a wild night life but perfect for a quiet, relaxing holiday. However for the younger generation visiting there are a few good nightclubs in the Latchi/Polis area and bustling Paphos is but a 35min drive away.

The Paphos region

The climate in the Paphos region is for long dry hot Summers where temperatures can reach up to 40c with 13.0 hours of sunshine and temperatures falling nicely down in the evening to lows of 22c-24c. The Winter months of Dec, Jan and Feb bring rain but temperatures still remain about 16-20C with an average of 5.0 hours on sunshine and sometimes with colder, fresher nights.
Whatever you desire, activity, tranquillity, good food, fine wine, golf, spas, walking and nature, the upper class Paphos region offers it all. The charming west coast town of Paphos focusses around an attractive little harbour whose picturesque open air fish restaurants line a quayside of fishing boats and laid back life. The historical and magical area of Latchi/Polis is unmissable to anyone looking for sun, sea and serenity.
For keen walkers and cyclists, the very nearby Akamas National Park offers a paradise of endless walks and cycle ways, 4*4 driving, wild animals and birds, fauna, fantastic sea views and secluded coves for snorkelling and swimming. Akamas is included in the official UNESCO world's heritage list of cultural and natural treasures. Please note cycles, mopeds and cars can all be hired locally in Latchi. A visit to the Troodos mountains and some of the famous monasteries is a must where you can view all of the West side of Cyprus.
For golfers, there are three quality , panoramic , courses within an hour’s drive, all open to visitors, namely the Aphrodite Hills, Secret Valley and Tsada Golf Clubs.
The Latchi / Arsinoe Beach area
Close by are the baths of Aphrodite with an exhilarating view over the bay. According to legends the baths are where Aphrodite took her beauty baths in a pool of a natural grotto shaded by a fig tree.My villa is situated about 3km out of the Akamas national park, the Akamas peninsula is an area of outstanding natural beauty. Sandy bays, deep gorges with varied landscapes.
Watersports and diving can be done in this area with 2 Padi diving schools located in Latchi and Paphos.
Jeef safari tours are incredibly popular within the Akamas peninsula.
With wine tasting and mounting biking there is sure to be something for everyone.

A lovely three-bedroomed villa in a peaceful location, close to the beach and restaurants in Latchi, and near other attractions such as good walking in the Akamas peninsular. Response: Morag, many thanks you are always welcome. hope to welcome you back after the olympics |

Returned to Villa Poinciana for the third year in a row. Decided that the weather in October would still be good and we were not let down. If you really want a laid back place to chill out this is it, the villa is only three years old and is clean and tidy throughout. the close proximity of the beach just and the end of the road and a five minute stroll to Latchi Marina with its great choice of restaurants is a bonus. Take my word for it, book this villa and you won't be dissapointed. Response: Thanks Dave. Your very welcome as always |

Perfectly situated villa which is equipped to the highest standard. Everything has been thought of here. It is just a 10 minute walk along the beach road to the wondefull marina with more than enough choice of restaurants, bars and watersports. Not for those who like non stop noisy nightlife but enough to keep most people happy, both young and old alike. Hire a speedboat for a few hours and snorkle in the blue lagoon, or whiz along the coast on a jetski - great fun! Visit the beach along the road towards Aphrodites baths (next to the Anassa Hotel) it is finer shingle than the local beach and very quiet. Take a drive along the coast road to Pomos for a very quiet fishing village and nice cliff top taverna. Second visit to this villa as we honestly couldn't find anything to compare to it! Response: Thankyou Nicole, look forward to welcoming you back in the future |
Guestbook for Poinciana
1) Dear Michael
We had a wonderful week, and your villa was perfect.
Thank you for all your help and assistance, we are in no doubt that we will, subject to availability, be returning to Villa Poinciana in the not to distant future (Richard Ashton, Feb 2011)
2) Hi Michael,
We are now back in Dubai and wanted to thank you for a great week in Cyprus. We loved the villa and the surrounding area, we hope to visit again next year and will certainly recommend it to friends. We were impressed with how straightforward the whole process was and we thought Paul from In Safe Hands was very helpful.

3) Hi Michael
Just wanted to say thank you so much for another wonderful holiday at your house in Latchi. It really is a beautiful location - so restful and your garden was looking very colourful. Although the weather wasn’t as good as last Easter, the pool heating meant the children weren’t bothered and happily spent hours swimming in the pool. The problem I texted you about seemed to resolve once the build up of ice melted on the pool heater and it didn’t sound like it was having to work quite so hard. Hoping we will be back again very soon.
Kind Regards
Fiona and Peter Bullivant (24th April 2011)
4) Hi Michael -
we just got back from Cyprus as we spent a couple of days in the Troodos mountains after we left the villa.
Overall, the villa met our expectations and I would even say that the villa's location and the pool were slightly better than we expected - we loved the fact that it was quiet, but still very close to Latchi and the kids really loved the pool. Everything went very smoothly without any hick-ups and we had a great time. Thank you very much for renting us the villa.

5) Hi Michael
Thank you for once again helping to make our trip to Cyprus a memorable one despite the less settled weather. We love the villa and the area around Polis and Latsi. You obviously have great pride in villa 'Poinciana' and your willingness to help guests in any way is highly commendable. You always ask guests to advise you regardinganything associated with the villa that may help their enjoyment of their stay and also maintain the standards which you obviously set out to achieve originally. The new pool heating system is a major plus and provided u with many hours of pleasure.
Best wishes
Geoff Owen (24th May 2011)
6) My sister and I had a wonderful holiday together in your lovely Villa. We really had a great holiday in your lovely villa and may well return one day - should we be so lucky!!
Suzie Axtell (5th June 2011)
7 Hi Michael
Thanks for this - yes the holiday was great and we loved your villa, it was perfect. We worked hard at the end cleaning all those shiny surfaces from little fingers but left it really clean!

8) Hi Michael,
Regretfully we are to leave tomorrow by noon.
Could you please remind me what should I do with the keys? Supposedly I will put it back into safelock at entrance.
Let me thank you for all arrangements.
We have enjoyed our stay a lot.
The villa is the best all-round family house we ever rented at Cyprus(from our ten years experience in this island) ! Thank you so much indeed.

9) Hi Michael
Just wanted to let you know that we had a fantastic holiday at your lovely villa.
Probably the nicest villa we have stayed in out of 3 previously in Cyprus, we particularly liked the quiet private location and the really good sized pool.
Had a couple of niggles with the Internet which Brad quickly sorted out for us, a shame to have actually needed it but Mark had left his MBA essay until the last minute!
Mark and Louize Evans, 9th September 2011
10) Dear Michael
I would rate villa Poinciana a 10 out of 10. The villa is in a beautiful quiet location, everything you could possibly need is at the villa and more. I felt safe and secure in the villa, and was a totally relaxing holiday after having a very few stressful weeks at work for both of us. We both had such a lovely time at the villa. Its looked after well, there are contacts who are easy to get hold of should you need assistance and Michael you have been so easy and great to deal with it just made the whole holiday experience great. Thanks again very much.
