The Normandy / Orne region

Visitors have a choice between seaside and countryside. The stunning beauty of the region's interior, with its thatched cottages, traditional farming and ever-changing landscapes, is matched by a long coastline which stretches from the romantic cliffs and sandy beaches of Seine Maritime in the East, to the wild Cotentin seaboard and the World Heritage Site of Mont Saint Michel and its bay, with its huge tidal range and strong currents. La Rebourgere is ideal for families who enjoy both a relaxing and a more active holiday. Close by you will find riding, golf, swimming, walking - countryside and forest, cycling, canoeing, there is also a nearby riverside picnic and kayak area . For those who would like a day's shopping or sight-seeing, Paris is just over a two hour train journey away.

Local attactions include the spa town of Bagnoles de l'Orne with it's beautiful floral displays, the lake (with pedaloes in the summer season), outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts, golf course, casino, street cafes and some fabulous restaurants.

The medieval town of Domfront also has lots to offer, narrow cobbled streets, tiny shops, the ruins of the chateau, the church of Notre Dame sur l'eau, where, it is said, Thomas a Beckett said mass in 1166.

In Bagnoles de L'orne you have a world renowned spa centre 'Les Thermes', a casino and a huge boating lake and park. also very near by at La Ferte Macy is a huge man made lake with beaches and water sports. there are hundreds of attractions within driving range for example the zoo, safari park and museums.

How to get there

There are many ways to travel to our property. This includes flights, ferry and even by car.

We would advise ferry route being the quickest, cheapest and easiest way. Brittany Ferries sail daily to Caen which is the nearest ferry port to Lassay les Chateaux. You can travel either as a foot passenger or by car. There are two Ferries the 'Normandy' and the 'St Mont Micheal' both consist of cabins for over night routes, two cinemas, three restaurants, shops and a bar.

Once you have arrived in Caen, our newly opened property is only an hour away so therefore you could drive by your own car or at the ferry port there is car hire facilities. Driving in France is as simple as it is in England.
