If you would like to experience a fast disappearing way of life, then this is the place to stay. The traditional village of Kritou Tera, tucked away from the usual tourist trail, yet with easy access to mountains and beaches, can provide an insight into the traditional Cypriot culture. This is a traditional stone-built village house, renovated in a style sympathetic to the local architecture. The property is located on the edge of this compact village with stunning views over sea and mountains. The spacious paved area has a sun umbrella, table & chairs with a hammock to hang in partial shade. Situated at 500 metres above sea level, the climate is perfect in the hot summer months. The Cyprus Environment Centre is housed in the old village school indicating the value of this location for anyone interested in the natural environment and the habitat of the flora and fauna. Many organised walking and bird watching holidays are based in the Akamas, as it has such a variety of coastal paths or high level walks, all with spectacular views. A perfect location for either a restful or energetic break.

There are 3 golf courses within easy reach. Tsada (Minthis Hills) is 30 minutes drive, Secret Valley and Aphrodite Hills Golf courses approximately 45 minutes drive.

The Paphos region

Situated in the western end of the Mediterranean Sea, Cyprus is a large island boasting a wide variety scenery form snow covered mountains in winter to sun drenched beaches during the rest of the year. The traditional Cypriot hospitality and their way of life, in both the Greek and Turkish Cypriot communities, will make for a very friendly, welcoming and relaxed holiday. The less intense heat of the Spring and Autumn provide a long season for the more active walkers and bikers to enjoy the beautiful countryside.

Kritou Terra

Kritou Tera is ideally situated between Paphos (30 minutes) and Polis and Latchi (both 15 minutes). Paphos airport is a mere 40 minute drive from the village, while the many attractions in the town provide enough activities for several days! The famous mosaics and Tombs of the Kings are certainly a "must" but the scenic harbour and ancient fort will provide a stunning backdrop to a more leisurely break in one of the many harbour cafes and bars.

Polis is a small town with supermarkets and shops, petrol stations, banks and post office and other services. There are also many lovely restaurants and from which to choose, especially in the pretty town square which is traffic free. Polis beach, with it's stunning views across the Akamas Peninsula, is acessed via the orange grooves and camp site. From here, a lovely board walk has been built along the beach to Prodhromi and Latchi, if you feel like some gentle exercise. These coastal villages are also accessible by car. Latchi has a small, pretty harbour from which you can hire a variety of boats to explore the coastal scenery and bays that are inaccessible by car. Alternatively, you can enjoy a tradional Cypriot meze in one of the stunning sea front restaurants, as you watch the world go by.
