About the home

The Villa is clean modern and furnished to a very high standard to make your holiday as enjoyable as possible. The Villa is in a lovely position and is well looked after.
It is situated in a quiet position surrounded by conservation area on the Security Gated Cumbrian Lakes development. It is only 10-15 minutes drive to the main entrance of Walt Disney World, & yet it is also within easy reach of the beautiful Gold Coast (Cocoa/Daytona Beach) and the Gulf Coast (St Pete's/Clearwater) if you need a break from the fun of the Theme Parks. The closest beach is about a 45 minute drive if you want to top up your tan or do some boogie boarding.
The Guest Book has many compliments regarding the comfort and luxury of the Villa, and also the excellent equipment and facilities. The mangement company is on hand 24/7 and is only situated a mile up the road, so can easily assist with any matter if required.
There are 5 full bedrooms and a 'Den' area with a a sofa bed and the Villa will accommodate 12 guests comfortably. There is also a cot + linen, high chair, & buggy for any tiny guests.

Wireless Broadband is available for your complimentary use should you wish to bring your own Laptop, Ipad, or Blackberry

The decor is plain yet refined, and the furnishings have all been co-ordinated to match making the appearance of the home inviting and and luxurious. There is plenty of room for two families to share the Villa. The Pool can be heated, and there is plenty of pool deck furniture for all guests to enjoy.

Further details outdoors:
The Villa is built on a larger than normal plot, but is certainly not isolated, as there are neighbours both sides. The garden is kept neat and tidy and is stocked with sub tropical foliage. Overlooking the lake in the rear garden are Palm trees and a stone bench seating area to watch the lake wildlife. To the front of the property there is a double garage to securely park 2 vehicles , and room on the block paved driveway for 2 more.

Florida is well known for the best Theme Parks in the world, and yet there is so much more to do and see, the trouble is you need a long break to do it all.
We have visited Florida since 1990 and every year there is something different to do beyond the fun of the theme parks. There is culture in the Theatres, Sports at the various arenas, Wildlife to see in the headlands of the Everglades, and relaxing activities like horseriding, or adventurous activities, like helicopter flights or swimming with Manatees. Of course there are many great Restaurants from the well known Fast Food chains to many lovely 'Fine Dining' places.

All Major Airlines, British or American.
Flights can be taken from most UK Airports, London Heathrow, Gatwick, Manchester, Glasgow.
BA and Virgin fly direct to Orlando International.
The Charter Airlines e.g. Thomas Cook fly to Orlando Sanford
The American Airlines fly into a hub and connect to Orlando. (Tampa is always a good alternative to Orlando during busier periods)
www.expedia.co.uk and www.ebookers.com will often have cheap flights, if you do not want to book direclty with the airline.
All major Car Hire Companies have desks at these Airports and can be booked upon arrival or pre booked (and paid for) beforehand. Recommended Car Hire companies are Dollar, Alamo, Hertz, Avis.
If you do not hire a car and need to get a taxi to our Villa it is normally circa $50.

“The ideal property and location to relax and forget about work” A third visit to this wonderful house which is as fresh and up to date today as our first visit in 2006. The owners I'm sure are very proud of their home and we are grateful to them for allowing us to borrow it. “Fantastice Villa best we have stayed at yet” We travel to Florida every year and after staying in numerous different villas in other estates we discovered Cumbrian Lakes a couple of years ago, when we booked for a 3 week holiday we wanted to stay in Cumbrian Lakes again, the estate is a well kept small gated estate and in our opinion the best location for the parks and the busy part of the 192, our previous villa we stayed in was booked and we found Brusons Retreat. The Villa is south facing and has a fantastic view over the lake which has its own Gator (we named him Gary) who made an appearance from time to time, the pool and lanai area are a great size and is very private from the adjoining villas due to hedging. Brusons Retreat is a really good size, clean and is well kept, everything we required was available in the villa including a selection of dvd's, music cd's and board games, we also requested a high chair and travel cot which the villa was already equipped with. Despite what a previous review stated we found the free wi fi in the villa really good and had no issues, even out at the pool area. The whole booking process was very easy and communication was excellent, we would highly recommend Brusons Retreat for your Disney Holiday.

“Bliss...this villa is outstanding! Homely and yet still 'a holiday'...” We have been lucky enough to visit Kissimmee 6 times now...we have also been extremely lucky in securing 'Brusons Retreat' 4 times ( the other 2 occasions it was unfortunately booked)...each year of visiting..this villa just gets better and better and in a way...staying at 2 other villas within Cumbrian Lakes on previous occasions...only highlighted this villas superiority. Where possible we would safely say that we would stay nowhere else now. It is clean, so fully equipped that it almost puts my own home to shame, spacious and with the touches of home around you it makes you feel welcomed without anyone being there. Our trips from the first email enquiry to leaving the villa on our last day have always been the smoothest of processes and we have had the pleasure of dealing with both the owners and their management team.... We cannot recommend this villa enough...it is perfect for a family holiday such as ours but even more so for bigger parties as we did with extended family over the Xmas period a few years back...it was absolutely fantastic. We will be back....to kissimmee...and more importantly to Brusons Retreat.

“Good Location, terrible service” Location of this property is excellent and the house itself is very nice. However, there were several things which made the stay less than I had hoped and and since returning, a nightmare. Firstly, the house is lovely, but full of family photos and trinkets everywhere and whilst this may be ok for some, it made me feel like I was intruding in someone's home, rather than a paid for house. Secondly, I paid to have the pool heated and it was not what I would call heated. We did contact the management company and they promptly came and checked it whilst we were out the next day. A note was left on the door to say that it was set at 5 degrees higher than normal. It was still barley warm and we were unable to use the pool or spa for more than a few minutes as it was too cold. it states that there is wi-fi but unless you stand on one leg, facing south from the roof, you will struggle to get this and as my partner was there for work, this caused problems. The biggest issue however was that they send out the keys in the post prior to you arriving (a practice which I have never encountered in all my stays in holiday homes). This was unnecessary as keys were in the lock box at the property anyway. Upon returning home I then had to drive to the post office and pay for an 'extra large' stamp to return the keys via the post. This I duly did, only to find a week later and several emails, that it had been lost in the post and I was told that I would have to pay £15 from the deposit. So, I paid for a pool I couldn't use and paid for petrol, an envelop and stamp to post back keys which were not needed and then told that I could not have all my deposit back either. I visit Florida frequently and I will not be returning and I would not recommend this property. Response: Thank you for your comments regarding the good location of Brusons Retreat Villa. We are disappointed that you describe your experience as "Terrible Service" and raise the following items: We do have some Family photos in the Villa, as this too is our Holiday Home which we choose to share with other guests. I understand it may be off putting to some but to others it creates a feeling of homeliness and a less clinical feel than perhaps other rental properties might. We have also tried to tastefully accessorise the decor, which we do not believe to be classed as "Trinkets". I appreciate that if one of the main reasons for your trip was Business related then perhaps a hotel instead a home such as ours would be better suited to you. The Wi-Fi service in the local vicinity is adequate but certainly not as robust as some of the UK broadband or fibre optic services. The signal can be difficult to pick up outside on the pool deck (which isn't a bad thing) but elsewhere in the property normally gives no problems and would certainly not require a specific compass point direction or an arabesque type position. The pool is always heated to a constant 85 degrees, which the majority of rental villa pools will be set at, we are sorry this felt too cold for you and your husband, especially as when our management company increased the temperature it did not meet your expectations. The Villa keys are sent out to guests prior to their arrival as it often helps when arriving at night (as Transatlantic passengers can do), although this wasn't your preferred method, other guests prefer it to the lockbox and pin method, particularly those travelling to Florida for the first time with a lot of new experiences to overcome before they arrive at the Villa. Regrettably, you are not as positive about our Villa as others guests have been and therefore will choose to stay elsewhere in the future.
