The Paphos District
Due to Cyprus’ location at the crossroads of Asia, Africa and Europe, the island has attracted tourists for thousands of years. With so many fascinating and fun places to see and visit, adults and children alike will never forget their trip to their Cyprus holiday rental here. Food reflects the divide between north and south. HISTORY & LEGEND: Paphos - Ancient Capital of the west of Cyprus, rich in history – a charming fishing harbour, lined with open-air cafes and tavernas, and a historic site with well preserved ancient mosaics et cetera.
The legendary birthplace of Aphrodite, mythological goddess of beauty and love. The rock formation 'Petra Tou Romiou' (the Venus rock) marks where she is said to have risen from the sea. The Bath's of Aphrodite at Polis and 'Fontana Amorosa' (fountain of love) are also her links with the island.
This island's remarkable history has the area of Paphos listed in UNESCO’s world heritage sites.
CLIMATE: 300 days of sunshine, Mediterranean, with hot summers and short mild Spring-like winters. Snow falls on the nearby Troodos mountains in January/February. You could take a ski trip and a game of golf or a swim in the same day!
TREASURES: The ancient Tombs of the Kings date to 4th century BC. Amazing mosaics near the harbour have been beautifully preserved after 16 centuries. No visit is complete without a visit to these sights.

COAST/BEACHES: The nearest (Lighthouse) beach is within 5-10 minutes walk, or take a short bus/car journey to Coral Bay Beach and Vardas Beach with their golden sands. Further out are numerous secluded sandy bays or unspoilt beaches of the Akamas Peninsular.
GOLF: 3 top quality 18 hole courses within easy driving distance open all year round. Tsada; stunning scenery, in the foothills of the Troodos Mountains. Secet Valley; Dramatic sculptural rock formations. Aphrodite; Stunning views of the sea and excellent clubhouse.
SKIING: Between January and March at Mount Olympus, one hour’s drive. 4 ski lifts and several cafes/restaurants.

DISTANCES: The delightful harbour and medieval fort of Paphos are 5-10 mins walk away. Picturesque trails in Troodos Mountains or the rugged beauty of the Akamas Peninsular about 1 hour’s drive or bus ride. Limassol, the largest resort is an hour’s drive. Nicosia and Larnaca are at the centre – about 2 hrs drive. Trips to Egypt, Rhodes and Symi, can be arranged by the Tourist Information Office.
How to get there
FLIGHTS direct to Paphos can be found readily through websites like www.TravelRepublic.co.uk, lastminute.com and flightsdirect.com. Easyjet operates in 2009. Look for Charter flight deals if you can fit in with their dates. Flight prices vary considerably depending on the time you travel, so it's a good idea to shop around. Generally speaking, the earlier you book, the cheaper your flights will be. From Stansted or Luton, First Choice and Thomson usually offer the best deals. If Gatwick is your local airport, try Easyjet. But book early to be sure of a flight. Some cheaper flights go via Manchester.
There are taxi transfers from Paphos Airport (approx 20 km). Taxis can be arranged at around €30. (Casual taxis are more).
This apartment is one of the best locations in Queen's Gardens; probably the best apartment complex in Kato Paphos, centrally located on The Tomb of the Kings Road, close to the restaurants, tourist areas, harbour, beach and other amenities.

KEY-CODES to the complex, block and apartment will be sent on full payment before your arrival along with the address, detailed directions from Paphos airport and map. FLIGHTS to Cyprus and taxi transfers from the airport to the villa are not included in the price. Please book flights separately. Taxi transfers can be arranged at competitive prices. LINEN: Bed linen and towels are provided for each week. However, we do ask you to bring your own beach towels. Linen is supplied for second week of 2 week stays. EMERGENCIES: You will be supplied with the telephone number of our property manager in Paphos who will be able to help you. CURRENCY: Bring some Euros for airport transfers and basic provisions. There are plenty of banks, internet cafes and mini-supermarkets within a short walk. LANGUAGE: Greek is the native language but everyone in the tourist area speaks good English. MEDICAL SERVICES: Details of the nearest pharmacy and hospital are contained in the information pack in the villa. Emergency treatment is free for tourists in Cyprus.

Ideally a substitute date can be offered but in the event that this is not possible, the following terms apply:- 29 – 56 days before start date – 50% of rental balance refunded 15 to 28 days before start date – 25% of rental balance refunded 0 to 14 days before start date – 10 % of rental balance refunded if able to re-let . "We were looking for a 'home from home' and that's exactly what we got. The apartment and complex was everything the advert stated. The apartment had everything we needed and was very comfortable. The balcony gets the sun during the day which was an added bonus. The complex is extremely well situated, there is a bus stop right outside that will take you to various places ie the old town, Coral Bay etc,. There are shops, supermarkets, restaurants, internet cafe's etc, all on your doorstep. The beach is a few mins walk away and leads to some fantastic coastal walks, if your a walker you will really enjoy them. The harbour is about 15 - 20 mins away. The complex itself has stunning gardens and a pool that are well maintained and a great place to relax and watch the world go by. There are loads of places to eat, there were some we really enjoyed, one is a traditional kebab house at the back of the complex where we often got a takeaway, the kebabs were great! The others are Pukkets (which is on Tombs of the Kings road) and the Raj which is about 15 mins walk away. Overall we had a fantastic time and will be going back. "“The apartment was lovely and spacious and had everything we needed. The balcony was well used and it was relaxing listening to the waterfalls outside. And the pool was good for cooling down after a hot day out, and there were spare lilo’s at the side which we used. The location was perfect for us as it was approx. 20 minutes walk to the harbour, restaurants and mosaics, 20 mins to the Tomb of the Kings, and 20 mins to the old town, so we could walk to everywhere we wanted to go in a short time. And as the roads were lit at night we could walk into town and back safely. The selection of restaurants and bars nearby was excellent, and quite a few had a 3 course meal for €9 or €10 each. When we got there we found bread milk butter wine and umpteen odds and ends left by previous tenants. “Just a line to let you know how much we enjoyed our holiday in Paphos. The apartment was first class, just like your photographs, it was lovely and peaceful at night time even though it is right in the middle of all the night time entertainment.We would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone thinking of a holiday in Paphos.The new walkway only just finished from the old fort in the harbour along the sea front to just past the Laura Hotel is a must for anyone whe has not been to Paphos for a while, it is a circular walk of just over two miles from the apartment and back just in time for breakfast.I think that you will be hearing from us again, meanwhile regards and best wishes” MB
