The Paphos region
The charming west coast town of Paphos (or Pafos) is one of the most beautiful and ancient towns of Cyprus. Positively teeming with history which dates back thousands of years, today Paphos is a small harbour town, but in Hellenistic and Roman times it was the capital of Cyprus.
Paphos is entwined with greek mythology and the legendary birth of the mythical Goddess Aphrodite on her shores brought fame and worshippers there to follow the cult of the Goddess.
Landmarks associated with Aphrodite are the chunky, rugged rocks of her beautiful birthshore known as the Aphrodite Rocks or "Petra tou Romiou", the evocative sanctuary of Aphrodite at Kouklia Village, one-time shrine and scene of pagan festivals for thousands, the Baths of Aphrodite at Polis, supposed source of fertility and the Fountain of Love, or Fontana Amorosa, a few miles further into the Akamas Peninsula.
Even the town's name is linked to the Goddess, as Paphos was the name of the mythological daughter of Venus and Pygmalion.
Paphos became the capital of Cyprus under the successors of Alexander the Great - the Ptolemies and in those days its harbour was a busy, thriving port. It continued as the island's first city for more than seven centuries, retaining its importance under Roman rule. Its most famous Governor Sergius Paulus, was converted to Christianity by St Paul in 45 AD.
Paphos welcomes its visitors with its majestic landscape, lovely coastline, historic treasures and delightful villages where tradition is still a way of life. It focuses around an attractive little harbour known as Kato Paphos whose picturesque open-air fish tavernas and souvenir shops line a quayside of bright fishing boats and pleasure craft.
This lovely resort boasts an average of 340 days of sunshine a year and almost zero rainfall from April to November making it an ideal all year round destination. English is widely spoken and the locals are friendly and welcoming. Driving is on the left and electricity is 240V using 3-pin plugs.
The recent addition of its own international airport nearby has opened up the Paphos area, and the resort is graced with some luxury hotels along the coastline.
There are many trips and activities available. A daily jeep safari is available to the Akamas National Park to see 'Turtle Beach' where the protected Greenback turtles lay their eggs. The Akamas Gorges, Adonis Falls and the sea caves are all also great trips.
Why not leave the beach for the day and enjoy the tranquillity of the mountain air in the beautiful Troodos Mountains! Full details of all the Islands activities will be provided in our apartment information pack.
For the golf enthusiasts there are three golf courses within easy reach of Paphos:
Aphrodite Hills (PGA standard) 18km (www.aphroditehills.com)
Minthis Hills 15km (www.cyprusgolf.com)
Secret Valley 18km (www.cyprusgolf.com)
The apartment is situated on a quiet road just off the main Tomb of the Kings Road in Kato Paphos. Well located, it is only a few minutes walking distance of all amenities, including:
* Restaurants and Bars
* Bakery and Doughnut Shop
* 24-Hour Supermarket
* Internet Cafe
* Pharmacy and Doctors
The main harbour in Paphos is a 20 minute walk on the new walkway around the headland by the lighthouse, or a 15 minute walk along the road.
There are local air conditioned buses that pass nearby that will take you to the markets, tourist area, harbour, Coral Bay and Aphrodite’s Water Park. Taxi’s are in abundance if required as are hire cars.

its two years since I stayed in the Seacrest but my memories of this holiday are vivid. What a great place to stay very private and quiet, with good amenities and fantastic villas. We had a time share… More

"Home from home"
I have been to roberts apartment at royal seacrest for 3 yrs in a row and have always found it in excellent condition,we are also going for a fourth visit in may of this year. we have a lovely sea veiw from the balcony which is fantastic , the pool in the complex is great for relaxing around and sunbathing and for a little swim ( and daily the ice cream man comes round and his ice creams are out of this world). the beach is only a short walk away and as sun loungers you can hire for a small charge, they is a small bar situated on the beach way you can buy food and cold drinks and changing and toilets available.
The shops and bars are on the main tomb of the kings road and can take you to the harbour. old town. coral bay and paphos water park,and many more places.
They also have a brand new lidel supermarket built just 5 mins away for all your shopping needs.

Everything was as advertised and expected except the fitness centre, which was not in working order. Unfortunately as my daughter was in training for a marathon this was a critical point in choosing this appartment/complex and therefore a disappointment. Fortunately all was not lost because there were two fitness centres close by, although this incurred additional cost. The appartment and pool area were both fine. Owner was very helpful.

I couldn't fault the apartment either position or location. Local to all amenities. Lots of restaurants, short walk to bus stop. Ideally situated. Apartment was like being at home as it had everything you could possible want and more. Would recommend this to anyone. It may be busy during school holiday's but well worth the money. Ideally for senior citizen and children alike. The lift was a blessing.

"Excellent appartment and area to stay in."
We have stayed at the appartment 2yrs running, we find it fully equiped and clean. There is just a short walk to tomb of the kings road way you can find various pubs and places to eat, they even have fast food places like kfc and pizza hut and macdonalds. they is a short walk to the beach way you can hire sun loungers and a cafe bar. would reccomend the appartment to friends and intend to go back for future holidays.

Excellent taxi transfers to the Seacrest. Very spacious and clean property, well situated away from noise but within easy reach of restaurants, supermarkets etc. Tastefully appointed pool area, although a struggle to get a sunbed unless we got up very early as other holiday makers tended to ' reserve ' them. Lovely clean pools to swim in.
Robert, who owns the apartment, is very efficient and helpful too. Great location, but not too far away from holiday entertainment. Would have preferred the nearby beaches to be sandier, but Coral Bay is not too far by bus.

"Home away from home with better weather and fantastic views!!!"
We arrived in Cyprus in the early evening and were picked up at the airport by a taxi arranged by the apartments management service and driven right to the gates of the complex.
The apartment was excellent. Spacious and airy with the most fantastic views from every window. Everything was extremely clean and tidy, and thoughtfully furnished to a very high standard. Loved the 'burning bush' and couldn't believe how much useful bits and pieces were left by other users. Eveything from cotton buds to coffee, washing powder and books!
The complex its self is lovely! There are two good sized pools and jacuzzi's, and loads of sunbeds to choose from. The view from the appartments roof top terrance is a must see and there were loungers in one of the wardrobes which we used. Although we didnt use the onsite gym while we were there it looked well equipped and maintained.
The apartments location is great. Very close to the Tomb of the Kings road which had an excellent bus service and a great range of resturants to chose from. We particularly liked Fat Mama's, the food was good and the floor show entertaining!!!
The island is lovely. We haven't been before but found lots to keep us all interested. We hired a car for most of the week we were there and were able to park it close to the appartment. There are loads of hire companies just a few hundred yards away on the Tomb of the Kings road so you dont have to hike to far when picking up or returning the car. Because they drive on the same side of the road as the UK I found it straight forward though driving the hills can be an adventure! Kids loved it but I was more concerned when the roads turned in to dirt tracks. My tip would be if you are hiring a car and do want to go of the beaten track make sure its a jeep!!
All in all we had a great time there and can't wait to go back. There were quite a lot of Northern Ireland and UK residents staying when we were there which made it feel even more like home but with great weather and views to die for!!!!

"Fab accomodation, ideal for beach,bus, food,shopping etc"
We arrived at Seacreast with our four children (15,13,12,7), the accomodation and location didnt let us down in any aspect. We spent just over a week here and we didnt stop from the time we arrived. The apartment is furnished very well and the complex itself is well maintained with the pool area which has a lovely atmosphere. Great location for us as we love to walk and check out the beaches. There are restaurants and cafes to suit all and a regular bus services to the harbour and coral bay. We will definately be staying here again.

"Home from home within minutes of restaurants, shops and beach"
The apartment is spotless, very comfortable and excellently equipped. The apartment benefits from a fabulous sea view. Swimming pool is cleaned regularly and there are plently of sunbeds and umbrella's available for use. Children's pool is a decent size. The location of the apartment is perfect; restaurants, supermarkets, beach and local bus service are all easily accesible on foot within 5-10 mins. This is my second stay at this apartment and would definatley look to stay here when I return to Cyprus in the future.

"Great apartment for a family"
Very spacious apartment which was spotless on arrival. We liked the fact it was not overlooking the pool as this gave us privacy and was quieter than those which surround the pool. In order to get to the main road (restaurants, bus stop etc) you do have to walk across a field but there is a pathway which is perfectly safe.
Pool area was great with plenty of sunbeds even in the last week of July. There were lots of restaurants nearby with 3 course set menus from around 14 Euros.
I would recommend car hire for at least some of the stay as it was nice to get out and about. Also you can go to the supermarket in town (much better than Lidl) to stock up rather than struggling on the bus. The cost of a taxi depends on who you get...........
Tip: if using the bus, buy a day trip ticket as you can travel as many times for the same price as a return ticket (2 Euros).
