This two bedroomed ground floor apartment at Thea Court is ideally located - whether you want to relax by the pool, sunbathe on fantastic beaches or do something more energetic, e.g. water sports, everything is within easy reach. Although a car is not essential, it would enable you to explore more of this beautiful island and get you to some of the more remote, picturesque beaches. The apartment has access to 2 outdoor pools and is just a 10-15 minute stroll from the lovely Fireman's Cove beach. Supermarkets, bars, restaurants and the local bus service are all within easy reach. Both bedrooms contain 2 single beds: the lounge has seating for 5 and the dining table has seating for 4. TV (with a selection of Satellite channels), a DVD and CD player are also available in the apartment

The Famagusta District
There is something for everyone within a 15 min drive. Ayia Napa has an abundance of bars, restaurants and beaches amongst which is the famous Nissi Beach; water sports are widely available throughout Ayia Napa and Protaras.
You can dance the night away among the many bars on Ayia Napa's Centre.
A large water park is located on the outskirts of Ayia Napa and is a great day out for families. A smaller water park is situated on the outskirts of Protaras.
Protaras is a lovely resort, quieter then Ayia Napa but just as sophiscated and cosmopolitan. Numerous bars and restaurants are located here and also the excellent Fig Tree Bay beach and again water sports are available.
The list of fabulous beaches on the East Coast of Cyprus is lengthy but here are a few worth a visit: Agia Thekia, Makronisos, Landa, Pernera, Katsarka and Pantahou.
Kapparis area
Kapparis is located within easy reach of Paralimni and Derynia and is an up and coming resort. The main street has an abundance of bars, restaurants, supermarkets and bakers. Greek, Cypriot and international cuisine is available, as is Sky Sports for you sports fans!
Kapparis has several small sandy beaches, the nearest to the apartment being Fireman's Cove.
On the west coast of Cyprus you will find Paphos and here you can wonder at Aphrodite's Rock or visit the ancient amphitheatre.
You can also sail from Cyprus to Israel to see the Wailing wall, Mount of Olives or travel to Egypt to see the pyramids and the Sphinx. Many local tour firms offer these trips at good rates (can be cheaper than booking in UK) and these sites are only an overnight cruise away.
The ghost town of Famagusta is close by, you can see the urgency with which the residents left in 1974 as their possessions are still visible. You can also take a boat trip and see the once holiday destination completely deserted.
The capital Nicosia, the last divided city in the world is also worth a visit.
How to get there
Fly to Larnaca Airport (LCA) which is an easy 45 mins drive away. Cheap flights can be found using www.travelsupermarket.co.uk, www.flythomascook.co.uk and www.flymonarch.co.uk (new routes from Manchester and Luton from May 2008 and new routes from Birmingham Spring 09)
Paphos Airport (PFO) offers an alternative which is approx 2 hrs drive from the apartment. Try www.easyjet.com for flights to Paphos
Driving in Cyprus is easy - they drive on the left (as in the UK) and road signs are in English as well as Greek. There has been considerable investment on the motorways in recent years.
Car hire is available by booking from the UK with companies such as www.economycarrentals.com; www.carjet.co.uk: www.sixt.co.uk or www.hertz.co.uk' collections can be made either at the airport or in resort.
A taxi from Larnaca airport should cost around 50 Euro
Public transport in the area is cheap and the nearest bus stop is 5-10 mins from the apartment. The buses run regularly throughout the summer to the nearby resorts of Protaras, Ayia Napa and Paralimni. But don't forget you are on Cyprus timetables!
