From the owner

The house is a 3 storey 1790s house made of Portland Stone! There is a large front garden (beach view at the front) and an enclosed rear garden too. Parking is free street parking.

Chesil Beach is about 2 minutes walk, where you'll also find a lovely café called Quiddles. The water is super clear and clean, good for swimming (large stones and not sand though).

Downstairs there is a living room with an L-shaped sofa and another large sofa and a armchair. Plenty of comfortable seating in front of a stone fireplace and stove) and a SMART TV with usual channels plus Netflix etc. The area is open planned with small but adequate kitchen area with oven, dishwasher and a breakfast bar and stools for 5 people. This leads out to a utility room with fridge/freezer and washer/dryer and the sink. There is a door leading out to an enclosed grassed garden. There is a pretty cast iron table and chairs, a table with 2 benches and sun loungers. The front garden has a comfy seating area and also a large picnic bench.

The first floor has a bathroom with walk in shower (and great view to Chesil Beach!) and two bedrooms. The Portland stone is revealed on one wall in the first bedroom; both rooms are light and airy and dare I say superbly styled... :-)

The second floor has a further 2 bedrooms both of which have one wall revealing the Portland stone and again carefully designed. Each of the four bedrooms have hanging space, mirrors and drawers. A hairdryer is supplied and towels (not for the beach though please) for each guest.

There is organic shampoo, body wash, conditioner, Ecover hand wash & washing up liquid for guests to use. The bedding is all cotton and anti allergenic. We clean the house at changeovers with largely environmentally friendly products (plus bleach!). Guests are encouraged to contact me directly with any questions: we hope that we can make it a great experience for our guests.

I am available at any time to speak with you about any concerns or general questions. You can whatsapp or text me. Keys are available for you in a key box at the front door upon arrival. I am building up leaflets of things to do in the area (to be found on the notice board inside the front door). We recommend Quiddles for a great breakfast or lunch on the beach, the fabulous fish restaurant Crab House Café, both of these get booked up particularly the CHC, the local indian takeaway, Chesil Chippie, Co-op 3 minutes walk away for any essentials or Lydl for big shops. The Cove Inn is a historic pub on the beachfront that serves food. Catch, a fish restaurant in Weymouth recently earned a place in The Michelin Guide!

House rules

House is situated at the end of a row of quiet cottages therefore noise must be kept at a decent level and no loud parties (dinner outside with laughter is perfectly fine!).
Dogs are allowed but please check with me first, they must be kept off the furniture and beds. Let me know if you would like a dog bed.
The front garden is not completely enclosed (no front gate) but the rear garden is.If you use the stove or bbq please leave them safe and clean.
Strictly no smoking! And no butts!

Absolutely gorgeous cottage. All the mod cons. Each bedroom beautifully decorated and so comfy. Great location for exploring the area. Great back garden to have drinks and food.

A well equipped cottage, just a few yards from Chesil beach and about 4 miles from Weymouth. Helen was a very good hostess, and even let us stay later on our last day.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I pay the balance of my holiday?

You can pay the remaining balance of your holiday at any point. Simply go to Manage my holiday booking and click Pay now.

How can I retract my booking request?

You’ll need to contact Helen (the owner) to do this. Send them a message in Manage your holiday booking or through the contact form on this page.

How do I cancel my booking?

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Helen (the owner) a message.

If Helen (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
