About the home

Beach Villa Caicara is a short stroll from the beach. Capbreton town and port are 5 minutes walk away. Directly in front of the villa is the cycle path, which is part of an extensive network. There are many restaurants, several specialising in fish dishes (fresh fish can be bought from the port side for home cooking), as well as a museum of the sea, carousel, casino and several bars. The house sits in the centre of a 1500m plot. During the summer the high vaulted ceilings of the lounge/dining area provide a cool area to retreat to from the heat of the day.

The kitchen is fully fitted with dish-washer, large fridge, range cooker, microwave and washing machine. There are two double bedrooms downstairs and a large shower room with toilet. The master bedroom has doors leading to the deck area with views over the pool and dunes. Upstairs there is a large double bedroom with en suite bathroom and toilet. The gardens has two eating areas (one poolside and one off the verandah), there is a plancha (local-style barbecue, ideal for grilling fish) for those who enjoy cooking alfresco.

TERMS: Rates are per week and based on 7 people staying. Bookings are usually from Saturday 4pm to Saturday 10am. A deposit of 25% is payable within 3 days of booking to confirm and the balance eight weeks before arrival. Refundable breakages deposit of £300 is required, to be refunded within two weeks of your departure (subject to satisfactory property inspection).

CANCELLATION: In the event of a cancellation, every effort will be made to re-let, but if this is not possible the management reserves the right to retain the deposit and to recover the balance due. Insurance cover can be obtained for any loss of this sort. If the accommodation reserved is suddenly not available due to storm, fire or other unforeseen circumstances, the owner cannot accept liability or responsibility but the deposit and any other rental money already paid will be refunded.

CLEANING: You are responsible for keeping and leaving the property in clean and tidy condition. It is expected the house is left as good as found. Cleaning can be arranged at an additional charge of 100 Euros. Please inform us upon booking.

The Aquitaine / Dordogne / Landes region

Aquitaine is one of the prettiest regions of France. Situated in the south west corner of the country, it boasts beautiful countryside and villages that have scarcely been touched by tourism. The medieval castles dotted around the area are some of the best preserved in France. The region's major cities include cosmopolitan Bordeaux and stylish Biarritz, with smaller towns offering markets full of wonderful local produce. For the more active the coast offers plenty of opportunity for surfing and swimming and the Pyrenees are a wonderful location for walks in summer and skiing in winter.

The Hossegor area

Hossegor is located right by the Atlantic ocean with the stunning beaches offering prime surfing opportunities attracting everyone from world class surfers (the Quicksilver and Rip Curl events are held here) to beginners who can learn on the safe beaches of Capbreton. Hossegor and Seignosse golf clubs are also nearby. There are regular markets in both Capbreton and Hossegor offering everything from fresh local produce, crafts and clothes to carpets and art work. The Fete De Bayonne is a must see event in August! Le Petit train at La Rhune gives fantastic views across the Bay of Biscay. St Jean De Luz is a short trip along the coast and offers a beautiful bay, port and shopping. Spain is approx. 40 minute drive with San Sebastian offering the delights of the old fishing port and tapas bars galore!

Biarritz airport is approx. a 30 minute drive. There is a bus connection from the airport to Bayonne Centre and then on to Capbreton/Hossegor or car hire is available at the airport. There is also a taxi service from the airport.

Pau airport is approx. 2 hours' drive and Bordeaux is also a 2-hour drive awayy.

“Great house, perfect location, most caring hosts” Villa had everything we were looking for - spacious vernadas, right sized bedrooms, big living room, well equipped kitchen, and, what was very important for us, many toys and other children features. location is just perfect - we were walking to the beach every day, and were biking for everyday grocery. we loved the town - it is very youngish, yet calm. Jemma and Grant are the most welcoming and caring hosts we've ever had, very approachable and helping with everything! We will be coming back for sure.
