About the home

Beautiful two bedroomed seafront apartment with superb view from the balcony towards Funchal city. Excellent location, close to the major road links to move to any point on the Madeira Island. Staying with us is the best choice because we are near a golf course, near the beach (Barreirinha complex and Santiago Beach) and you can swin with the dolphins and watch the whales, but if you are a nature lover you can easily reach the "Levadas" and be inspired by nature, by the "Laurissilva". If you decide to stay with us you will have full support and all the information needed to accomplish what you want to do.

The Madeira region

Madeira is a small island located in the entrance of the Mediterranean sea with a temperature average of 18º C in winter and 24º C in Summer, the sea water temperature is around 15ºC in winter and 22/23ºC in summer.
Madeira Island is a land with a privileged climate, where you can enjoy a forest called "Laurissilva", as well as tracks, footpaths and tunnels tearing away through this protected area (included in the UNESCO World Nature Heritage List in December 1999) along which all you can hear is your own footsteps and the humming of the birds or the water falling down the slopes on its way from the spring to the cultures.(Levadas)

The Funchal / Old Town, Santa Maria Maior area

Here is where Funchal city was born. Caminho do Palheiro is the address of Palheiro Residence and ends with the beguining of Santa Maria Street, the oldest street in Funchal. Here you will find the Fort of Santiago and the Santiago Church, all historic buildings that you should visit, as well as the old town with all the traditional restaurants and you can relax in the Almirante Reis Park, where you can take the cable car and visit Monte, the Monte Palace Tropical Garden, the botanical Garden and come to downtown in the traditional wicker trolley.
You can also visit the Quinta da Boa Vista Garden, a sanctuary of orchids.

“Excellent Apartment with First Class assistance” From the moment we arrived to be met by our taxi and driver to the moment we left we were offered help and assistance by Geraldo. The apartment was in excellent condition and located less than a 15 minute walk to the town centre for us although we are all of pensionable age. The area the appartment is in is quiet, with bus stops close for those who do not wish to drive. “Old town perfect” Geradro met us at the airport and also took us to the airport when we left - he could not do too much for us - a perfect gentleman. “A lovely apartment close to the old town” It was very straightforward to book this apartment, with the owner responding promptly to queries. The website described the property well. A free pick-up from the airport was an added bonus, and the owner was waiting for us when we arrived at the appartment to help us with our luggage and show us round the appartment. He had kindly left us with food for lunch and an hour or two came back to walk with us into town--a 5 or 10 minute walk down the hill to the sea front and restaurants. The property--two bedrooms and two bathrooms--was spotless and very well equipped, with plenty of room for the four of us. There was even a computer and wifi access. There was a lovely view down over the harbour from one of the bedrooms and from the living room. There were bus stops a couple of hundred metres from the apparment, but most of the time we walked to and from the centre. It was a steep walk back up the hill, but good exercise. The owner was very kind and helpful and offered to take shopping up to the appartment if we needed it, rather than having to carry it ourselves--little touches like that singled this out from anywhere else I have stayed. We were even presented with a gift and CD when we left. The taxi driver the owner used to take us to and from the airport was also very helpful and a very careful driver--we also used him when we went walking in the mountains for a day. In summary, the appartment exceeded our expectations, the owner was extremely helpful and we would love to return one day. “For us this was the perfect choice for our vacation.” The service was exceptional. The gracious manager did everything possible to make our stay comfortable. It seemed he couldn't do enough for us. The recently renovated apartment was like new, spotlessly clean and equipped with every necessary convenience. It was a short 10 minute walk from the Old Town, the Market and numerous fine restaurants. The manager introduced us to a wonderful young English speaking taxi driver who provided us with four outstanding days touring the island's diverse regions including our own particular interests (gardens and levada walks). The highlight of our vacation was the scenery and the friendliness of the people. We can't think of one negative comment about the rental apartment. Response: Thank you for your words. “En harmonie avec Madère” L'appartement de la rua Latino Coelho est situé dans le vieux quartier de Funchal, animé et cependant calme, proche des commerces et de nombreux restaurants. Il est super équipé et facile d'accès depuis l'aéroport, car les transferts sont assurés par la Résidence. Son personnel est très serviable et plein de ressources pour vous dépanner en cas de problème. A recommander chaudement. Response: Vos mots à nous c'est un grand bonheur et un super merci!
