Newly renovated, rustic and luxurious 17th century farmhouse chalet sleeps 14

Chalet Pomet offers a charming place to stay and unwind on your holiday. Recently renovated to a high standard offering 6 en-suite bedrooms sleeping up to 14 guests. We have 3 large en-suite bedrooms all with a double bed and a single bed, 1 large en-suite family room with double bed and bunks. A restricted height children's room with 2 singles and en-suite. The stylish open plan living space comprises of lounge, dining and bar area and downstairs shower room next to the balcony with a hot tub. There are 3 balconies, one with a large dining table and terrace, ideal for bbq's and entertaining friends.

During the ski season (27 December to 10 April) we provide a catered service. This includes breakfast, afternoon tea and on 6 nights a four course meal all including wine or beer. We can provide children's meals and cater for dietary requirements. Packed lunches for the mountain can also be provided for a small charge.

All year round, the Grand Massif is a place of true natural beauty. The river Giffre runs through the valley, with dramatic mountains rising on both sides. Traditionally a farming area, the buildings are steeped in history, with the nearby town of Samoens world famous for its stone masonary.

The national park of Sixt is a walkers or cross country skiers paradise, with different graded routes for all abilities. In winter the snow record is excellent as we are situated next to Mont Blanc, and in summer, the temperature is a balmy 25 - 30 degrees, in the valley, with cooler air as you climb higher into the mountains.

During the summer, the chalet is a perfect base to explore this wonderful region, the swimming lake(lac bleu) is a 15 minute walk along the riverside footpath. Here you will find a beach, treetop adventure parc, pony rides, tennis, inflatable arena, volleyball, and a gorgeous little lakeside cafe to enjoy a cool beer or ice cream.

We are only an hour from the cities of Geneva, Annecy and Chamonix, all beautiful in which to spend the day exploring the historic streets and marvel at the architecture. Geneva and Annecy have really beautiful lakes, where you can hire boats or bikes to explore the area. In Chamonix you can catch the cable car, to get up close and personal with Mont Blanc.

Ski: The Grand Massif ski area is just 1 hour from Geneva Airport. We have 5 linked resorts and over 265km of marked pistes not to mention the fabulous off piste skiing available that with a guide is very safe. The ski schools have English speaking instructions, and are great for kids. The reasonably priced ski pass makes this area an unbeatable choice, with lack of queues, fantastic snow record, and conveniently placed mountain restaurants for that all important lunch stop.

Other winter activities include, dog sledding, ice skating, skidoo hire, sledging, snowshoe adventure walks and a large cross country ski area.

The chalet can be booked on a catered basis during the winter and catered or self catered at other times. You can book the whole property or just a room. Our catered rates include, breakfast, afternoon tea, and a 4 course meal on 6 nights of your stay with wine or beer. We also provide pack lunches if required for the day on the slopes. Our excellent chef can cater for all dietary requirements.

We can also arrange in house massage, facials, or even a session of Yoga. Alternatively relax in our open plan lounge watching a good film from our DVD library on the home cinema system, while the log burner crackles away in the corner. If you take our catered service, mulled wine awaits your return from the slopes, or in summer a cocktail on the balcony is just the ticket before a splendid dinner by candlelight. The chalet can be booked as a whole or alternatively by the room. Everyone is welcome and we can offer the following services if required; childcare, transfers, accompanied skiing, special occasion treats, conference hosting, wedding receptions and workshop courses as listed on our website.

We have a hot tub on the covered deck, and outside dining area. The summer is an ideal time to enjoy white water rafting, mountain hikes, cycling or simply come and relax in the sunshine in one of the alpine pastures or lakeside beaches. We are close to all amenities and can offer catering for that all indulgent holiday treat. The chalet can also be booked as self catered, and we have a wonderful walled terrace for your to enjoy a bbq with your friends and family.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

If Sarah (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
