The Evran / St Andre Des Eaux area
The village of St Andre des Eaux is a retreat even by the standards of rural Brittany. It has a small church and a good bar and restaurant called L'Eprouvette which has a compact menu featuring crepes, steak and frites all of which are tasty. The nearest town is Evran which is set on the river Rance. There's also a canal with a picturesque lock seen as you drive over the bridge into the town. Near Evran is the beautiful gardens of the Chateau de Hac - with a mediaeval Knot Garden and Renaissance walk.
