Built with traditional local stone, each individually cut by hand, this majestic villa was completed in 2008 yet blends in perfectly with the environment and the other stone houses in this historic area. Full of character with exposed stone walls and wooden floors our guests can experience the history of this unique region combined with the luxury of modern furnishings and a high standard of facilities. The villa has large gardens to give you privacy away from the road and other properties.
Spectacularly positioned in Mesudiye, perched mid way up the Kocadag mountain range, you enjoy unrivalled views of this beautiful location. The house is surrounded by olive, almond and an array of different fruit trees in an acre of gardens with a shaded seating area by the large inviting swimming pool.

Three Bedrooms
The master bedroom contains a double bed with an en-suite bathroom and balcony. This balcony also connects with another bedroom which contains bunk beds suitable for two children or young adults. Both these rooms face south and have incredible views to wake up to. There also remains a further spacious double bedroom with views of the gardens and olive trees which grow on these fertile hills. All bedrooms are newly furnished and are air-conditioned. There is a large bathroom with bath and shower upstairs and a further toilet and shower room downstairs.
Kitchen
There is a wonderful modern kitchen finished in locally crafted wood with marble work surfaces. There is a large fridge freezer, cooker and hob and washing machine. Everything you need to make the best of the local ingredients which can be picked from the garden or bought in Mesudiye village. You may prefer to visit the local small holders where you can pick your own fruit and vegetables fresh from their gardens as well as purchase virgin olive oil, local honey or even fresh cow or goat milk.
Living Room
This spectacular room has a centrepiece real fire although guests visiting outside of winter are unlikely to have use for this. There is a modern leather sofa and large dining table which leads out to the large covered balcony where you can enjoy again the spectacular views in the shade and smell the wonderful thyme and pine scented air as well as the many blossoming fruit trees. Have a glass of wine and try to take in this natural paradise. Further there is satelite television and a sony stereo system.
Swimming Pool & Garden
There is a wonderful swimming pool with fantastic waterfall drop designed to allow the swimmer to enjoy the views of the mountains and sea. This is a truly breathtaking feature. The house has a large landscaped garden where you can find many fruit trees, olive trees, almond trees and where a number of local herbs and vegetables grow. For the nature lover you can also enjoy visits from many local birds and tortoises!

Location
The house is perfectly positioned to give you privacy and an element of remoteness while being convenient for all the prime locations of the area. It is approximately 4km from the beaches of Hayit Buku and Ovabuku and the Olive Garden Hotel less than 10 minutes drive away. The staff at the Olive Garden Hotel are always available to arrange anything you may need. It is a mere 17 km or 20 minutes drive from Datca and 25 minutes, 18 km from Knidos. A car is necessary although this is a fantastic location for walking the mountain trails or mountain biking. A local dolmus/bus service runs very close to the house approximately 5 minutes walk away. A car, motor scooter or mountain bikes can all be arranged for you as well as access to a small boat with outboard motor.

The Datca Peninsula
The untouched coast, off the main tourist routes, Datca appears to be more like an oasis; a beautiful, quiet haven to peace and tranquility. Those who enjoy exploring and hiking will be surprised by the variety of nature and richness of the beautiful undiscovered place of the Datca Peninsula . This virtual island remains a wild and heavily wooded frontier region, famous for its three Turkish B's: Balik, Bal and Badem; fish, honey and almonds. Datca is a small town of around five thousand there is a lively harbour set in stunning scenery whose relaxed happy atmosphere will captivate you immediately. The entire region is a combination of traditional Turkish friendliness and hospitality, tranquility, sophistication and good fun. Health
The air quality of the Datca area, with a 33% presence of oxygen, is said to protect against heart disease as well as benefit those with circulation, nerve and rheumatism problems. As well as a perfect climate it also boasts some of the cleanest water in the Mediterranean supporting the legendary longevity of the residents of Datça.
Ovabuku, Hayitbuku and Kizilbuk
Close to the Villa are; Ovabuku, Hayitbuku and Kizilbuk, three bays which lie next to each other like a precious pearl in the neck of the peninsula. Ovabuku is found by descending the pine tree mountains past the tiny village of Mesudiye. There are dramatic and panoramic views of the Aegean sea on one side and the Mediterranean on the other. This creates the wonderful micro climate of the region. Pine forests are intermingled with oak, myrtle, gum and carob trees. Almond trees, olive and citrus groves, grape vines and all manner of herbaceous plants are there to be discovered as you explore the mountains and valley.
Ovabuku is set in a beautiful bay with no distractions apart from the sounds of gentle waves and the charming bird songs. Hayitbuku with its wonderful beach is also a hidden treasure and those lucky enough to discover it and the stunning bay of Kizilbuk completes this wonderful location. Palamut Buku lies about 5km further west and has one of the longest beaches in the area and another 5km takes you to Knidos. In between you will find the countless exquisite bays and pristine beaches, some only accessible by boat and forest paths, which we believe are the most beautiful in the whole of Turkey.
Knidos
The region is particularly historically rich as it was one of the most important commercial and cultural centres throughout the Aegean and eastern Mediterranean from the times of Ancient Greece through to the Byzantine period. The ancient side at Knidos was the centre of all this activity. This is the only place in the world where you can watch the sun rise from one cove and then set from another while sipping a relaxing glass of wine. About an hours drive from Datca town through beautiful forest scenery or by a boat trip interrupted by swimming stops in pristine bays along the way. Knidos has many other spectacular ancient ruins and is slowly being excavated and will soon rival Ephesus and Aphrodisias.

Sailing & Diving
The region is renowned for its sailing and you can chose to take part in a sailing course, hire your own boat or just take a day trip. There is a wide variety of boats available from traditional Turksih Gullets to ultra modern Catamarans. The crystal clear turquiose waters also make for perfect diving conditions. There are a numnber of local sailing companies and diving schools to which we are happy to introduce you.
Walking & Mountain Biking
The Peninsula's beautiful landscape with its many undiscovered classical ruins, its quiet coves and bays, stunning mountain terrain, the highest mountain "Kocadag" peeking at 1162 meters, the lovely valleys and hidden gorges surprise and fascinate the walker. The unique micro climate breads stunning fertile plains dotted with picturesque rural villages and citrus and olive groves as well as unique wildlife and fauna. Use our local knowledge to follow many of the ancient hidden paths. Our Clients often like to combine their walks with, boat trips, mountain biking and visits to local historic sites or general places of interest. One thing you will discover is a unique way to experience this incredible part of the world following trails established thousands of years ago. For an idea of some of the walks available and the possibility of guided walks please ask for more information. The quiet roads and mountian trails also make this a perfect place to mountain biking which we can arrange for you to hire.
Wildlife Spotting
The cleaniness of the water mean there are an array of different fish as well as dolphins and seals. When walking if lucky you will see wild boar sometimes in groups, foxes and wild goats. Stone chickens are common in the macchia and you will see eagles amongst other birds hovering on the thermals around the mountain slopes. There are still claims that brown bears live in the north slopes of Kocadag.

The peninsula is an Important Plant Area having around 160 rare plant species such as liquidamber (Liquidambar orientalis), a Turkish endemic, Phoenician juniper (Juniperus phoenicia) and cypress (Cupressus sempervirens). Area hosts wild goat, wildcat, brown bear. The coasts of Datça Peninsula and Bozburun are among the most important habitats for the critically endangered Mediterranean monk seal (Monachus monachus)."
Health

Close by the beach in Datca there is a small lake with hot springs increasing its temperature to 40 degrees, inviting on cooler days for a swim. The lake is reputed for its natural healing powers.
Local people live on farming and fishing as well as producing honey. Different varieties are produced each season such as the delicious thyme-scented honey. You will see small children on the road selling jars of honey and home-made salsa, the tomato and pepper puree at the heart of Turkish cooking.
Excursions & Turkish Bath
As we are on the south west tip of Turkey, the Greek islands of Rhodes and Kos can be seen in the distance and day trips can be arranged from Marmarais and Bodrum. There are regular minibuses to Datca where taxis are available alternatively you can hire a car or moped. Any of which we would be please to arrange for you. If in Marmarais Don't miss the opportunity to experience a traditional hamam or turkish bath followed by a full body massage.

Transfers & Car Hire
From the airport you can take a taxi or bus to Datca via Marmaris. Datca is about two and a half hours drive from Dalaman and Bodrum airports. From May to October there is a daily ferry service from Bodrum to Datca, Kormen. The Ferry takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes or by Hydrofoil 30 minutes to Mesudiye.

We found the villa by chance on the internet having been recommendedthe Datca Peninsula by friends and stayed in June 2011. What a find!The whole area is truly stunning and we had a wonderful holiday. Theviews as you drive from Datca to Musudiye are especially breathtaking. The villa is about 15 mins drive from the main town of Datcabut we spent most of our time in the beaches nearby and only wentthere a couple of times to visit the supermarket and the spring lake.You can have a nice massage under the mini waterfall.The villa is really charming and comfortable and makes you feel youare part of the real Turkey. The gardens are beautiful and spaciousbut with all sorts of fruit, vegetables, herbs and flowers notforgetting the Olive trees! The kids loved the pool so much it washard to get them out. We had the master bedroom with the on suite,waking up to the views from the window is something I will not forgetand being able to walk out on to the upstairs balcony and into thekids room was a great way to start each morning. There is a largemodern family bathroom as well and big kitchen with everything youneed especially a dish washer! The satellite stations are mostlyforeign so bring some of your own DVD's to keep the kids amused.The kitchen and living room open up on to the large veranda where wespent most of our time eating fresh bread and enjoying thesurprisingly good Turkish wine. Wonderful to sit out here in theevenings and look out at the stars.Thanks to Sel, Harun and Nermin for helping whenever we needed it andmaking us feel like part of the family. Lovely, comfortable traditional villa, spacious, clean and full of character. We spent a week at Villa Olive Garden and did not want to leave. The views from the veranda, gardens and pool are just stunning. If you are looking for a holiday in the real Turkey this place is for you. Locals are extremely friendly and hospitable, lots of sun and great food! We stayed at the villa olive garden during the first two weeks of September 2011. Although we could not fault the surroundings (the coast, landscape, atmosphere), the villa was somewhat a disappointment. The garden is lovely, and so is the swimming pool with its view on the bay, but they are both frequented by a lot of rather assertive wasps and hornets. Inside the villa, the standards drop markedly from the pretty exterior: gloomy lighting in the kitchen and living room, tacky very worn pine cladding, loose toilet seats. The electricity supply is inadequate (lights dim when the kettle is on...). Whilst the the bedrooms are air conditioned, the ground floor is not (a fan is supplied, which did not work). The TV is tiny, the beds are mediocre... The villa feels very lived in (it is obvious it acts as a residential home throughout the year for either the owner or her parents) and in dire need of a refurb, and definitely below what one would expect given the not-so-cheap rental rate. If you do visit the Datca peninsula however, we can recommend the Gulcan Restaurant in Ovabuku, and the Zeynep restaurant (in an old windmill 10 mins out of Datca towards Marmaris). Both owners are remarkably friendly. Response: We are sorry these guests did not appear to like the Villa. However they were not a family with teenagers as listed but actually an all-male group who insisted that we should not attend the Villa during their stay for personal reasons. We reluctantly accepted this which meant we could not make our regular visits to maintain the pool and gardens or attend to any minor maintenance problems. We pride ourselves on service and give guests our mobile number and can normally be at the Villa within the hour or give any advice or suggestions. Having arrived 5 hours before check in on the first day without warning, we took them to a local hotel for breakfast on us and completed the cleaning asap to allow them access to the Villa early. We came back later to fix a sprinkler in the garden to discover them struggling to light the barbecue. We provided some charcoal and lit the fire. Later we received a text not of thanks but to advise us in no uncertain terms not to attend the Villa again without an appointment! Please see the many other reviews and photos here and in our guest book. The Villa is not used as a residential property (see all year availability) and was only completed and furnished in mid 2008. It is purposely designed and styled in the tradition of the local area. The Villa is improved and updated every year and is appreciated by nature lovers and families looking for a Turkish styled property in a spectacular rural environment. |

We've had fantastic first week in Turkey here at your very specious and comfortable villa.The view from the verandah is spectacular. With the lounger barring access to the steps we have practically lived out on the verandah all week.Isabel's swimming has come on leaps +bounds while we'vebeen here. we enjoyed the beaches of Kara Incir , Hayit Buku, ova buku and Palamutbuku although our attemped to drive to third local cove from Hyitbuku ended with one wheel in a ditch and a rescue from 4 burly dustmen!We 're amazed Datca Peninsula has refined all its charm despite an easy drive from Dalaman airport. Long may it continue.

We've all had such a wonderful and relaxing holiday! The wonderful views from the verandah were unexpected and we all made most of sitting, reading, eating +relaxing on it.We went to all the beaches and enjoyed each in a different waybut it was the perfect being able to comeback to the comfort of Villa Olive Garden. The Area was just what we wanted, unspoilt,few British tourists and relaxed and quite.We do feel we found the perfect place here and all had best time- hope to be back one day.

Just an email to thank you very much for letting us stay at Villa Olive Garden 3-10 July. We had a lovely holiday. We were really impressed with the villa. It was beautifully finished and had plenty of space. The verandah was particularly good and the view was spectacular. It was good to be able to separate the children from the pool too. The pool was a really good size and always clean. We loved the area and can't believe it is "undiscovered", at least by non-Turkish holidaymakers. It was a great first introduction to Turkey. The children enjoyed all the attention which they are not used to in the UK. We visited several of the local beaches, Knidos and Datca, all very nice.

We spent a lot of time in the pool, day and night - it was fantastic. England has seemed so cold this week, after the extreme heat of our fortnight in Turkey; I've never before had a tan like this! Sitting on the patio daydreaming, reading, eating and drinking was thoroughly relaxing! Such a peaceful, unspoilt area and what a stunning setting; we went on a few fascinating walks, enjoyed some figs en route! We ate almonds from your garden and brought some home! It was fascinating to watch the local people picking almonds. The nearby beaches and coves are exquisite; so beautiful, unspoilt and crystal clear water; we particularly loved the one beyond Ovubuku. Datca is a delightful town; the Saturday market was fun; we had a great day scuba diving from here with the Datca Diving Club. We enjoyed the day we spent at Knidos, although it was probably the very hottest day of our holiday! There are quite a lot of restaurants to sample too! Our favourites were undoubtedly the Olive Garden Hotel and Ortam in Hayitbuku. Overall, we had a wonderfully relaxing and enjoyable holiday and would definitely like to go back. The Datca peninsula is a real gem - a genuinely unspoilt place with a stunning coastline, good food and friendly people. Villa Olive garden was perfect for a relaxing family holid ay and had everything we needed - the views from the pool and terrace were beautiful and the olives we picked from the garden and brought home were delicious! Datca harbour and Old Datca were definitely worth a visit, but the highlight for us was playing and swimming in the turquoise sea on a small beach that we h ad all to ourselves.
