The villa is over 30yrs old (100sq m)and has been completely renovated. It stands over two garages. The main living area has three bedrooms and patio doors lead to a large south facing terrace from the living room. To the rear of the house there are steps leading to the pool (9mx4m) area and loft apartment (75sq m)wherein lies the fourth bedroom which sleeps up to 6 people. This 4th bedroom , separate living room and bathroom allows great space for older children while parents enjoy the peace and quiet of the main house if they so wish. The loft is not available to rent separate to the house but only as a fourth bedroom, which allows the property to cater for 12 people. A Pergola 2.3 m x 4.5 m has been added recently allowing extra shade from the sun.
Just five min walk from the centre of Collioure the house is ideally situated. Far enough away from the noise of the beach area and traffic and yet an easy walk. The living area and the master bedroom are air conditioned as is the living area of the loft apartment.The Master Bedroom has double doors leading to the pool area.

The house is extremely comfortable with lots of extras.. The American fridge/freezer. Coffee percolator and new comfortable beds to name but a few. The pool has an electric cover which must be closed as per French regulations when not in use. There is a gate leading to the upper level pool area which can be locked to prevent small children from gaining access.. A selection of books, games, DVD's and videos are available.
Although the house is air conditioned the shuttered windows when closed do keep the house cool during a hot spell.

There is a selection of PVC and teak garden furniture. Some at pool level and more at the terrace level. There are two BBQ's. One gas and one coal. The South Facing Terrace with mountain views is relaxing and tranquil. There are parasols to shade one from the sun and at night the terrace is like an outdoor room with a star filled ceiling. It is wonderful to sit out on the terrace watching the sun set behind the hills and see the lights of Collioure take over.
A large Garage is available for parking and there is also safe parking nearby for other vehicles. Sheets and house towels are included.
Changeover day is Sunday in High Season unless otherwise arranged. Time of arrival 4pm and departure 10am unless otherwise arranged.
The villas must be left reasonably clean and tidy.
Use of three bicycles. But we do rely on guests to leave the bikes in the condition that they find them.
During mid and low season arrival days are flexible.
A deposit of 500euro is required when booking to secure your reservation. A damage deposit of 300 euro payable on arrival will be refunded two weeks after departure provided no serious breakages or damage has occurred. Full payments are required six weeks before arrival unless otherwise arranged
Strictly no smoking except on the terrace.
The Languedoc-Roussillon / Pyrenees-Orientales region
Collioure is an excellent location for exploring the many interesting places in the surrounding Lanquedoc- Roussillon area. There are many historical and Architectural sites to be visited in the region. Perpignan is the nearest city and is a lively commercial centre which also houses the Palace of the Kings of Majorca.
The 'Train Jaune' will take you to the town of Villefranch-de-Conflent, (a preserved town) through the gorges of the Tet and up to the high plateau towards Andorra. A breathtaking train journey.
There are superb beaches and towns to visit within 10 or 20 km if one feels the need to leave Collioure.
The town of Figeures over the border in Spain houses the Dali Museum and Cadaques a beautiful fishing port on the Costa Brava is also worth a visit.
The Collioure area
Collioure is a charming Catalan village and holiday resort. Its central parts are conservation areas and the streets around the waterfront have remained unspoilt without high rise developments to dominate the horizon. Everything is built in cream or pink with the traditional orange tiled roofs. The narrow streets and alleys are full of traditional shops with wonderful merchandise. The village is full of character and many artists sketch and paint the many beautiful aspects of Collioure
There are four beautifully clean beaches in Collioure that are very safe for swimming. There is a carousel and playground beside the sandy beach. Perfect for small children. Scuba diving and snorkeling are very popular in Collioure and boat trips are a great way of traveling to the nearby coastal towns. Boats are available for hire in Port Argeles and Port Vendres.The beach at Argeles-sur Mer has lots of water sports available. Canyoning and white water rafting are not too far away, in the foothills of the Pyrenees.
Places of interest include: The Museum of Modern Artlocal wine may be sampled nearby),The 'Chateau Royal', the summer palace of the Kings of Majorca, The Church of Notre Dame and the Dominican Abbey to name but a few.
There are many restaurants in Collioure. Fine dining and casual dining. A few of the favourites are down at the beaches where one can see Fort Elme and the Windmill at night time, lit up, as if floating in the night sky.
Market days are Wednesdays and Sundays and shouldn't be missed. The freshly cooked meat and fresh fruit are superb.
There's a Michelin star restaurant in Port-Vendres well worth a visit. 'La Cote Vermeille' and not too expensive. The Neptune' in Colioure also boasts a Michelin Star. It is expensive but the setting and quality is superb. There are many fantastic restaurants in Collioure. The Casa Leon is a particularly good fish restaurant.. Also in Port-Vendres is one of the best Pizza Parlours which also do take aways. Its across from the entrance to the Car Park at the Marina.
There are superb walks in and around Collioure. One can walk through the narrow streets and feel they've had their daily exercise or take a more energetic walk to Port-Vendres, Argeles, or walk through the vineyards up to Fort Elme. The views are spectacular..
On the Way into Collioure there is a very popular Casino. Not suitable for children.
Beside the Casino there is an outdoor disco called 'Indigo'. Top DJs from Europe play there during the summer. suitable for 18yrs plus. Taxis and a shuttle bus carry people to and from the disco and Casino up to 5am high season. A difficult walk to get there, but downhill on the return.
