"Gorgeous, clean, warm, and very welcoming house feels like coming home."

This house is very welcoming and caters for both young and old. It has been built and decorated by caring hands to a very high standard. This was our first time renting a holiday home, we were unsure what to expect. We received a warm welcome from John and were made to feel very comfortable this was definitely a home away from home. My 5 year old little boy loved playing on the swings and John very kindly let him borrow a bike which he loved! The views and near by beeches are lovely and fingers crossed we will definitely be back again! We would like to thanks both John and Dolores for letting us stay in this truly lovely and affectionately now known to us as our holiday home. There was only one bad thing about Mia's Cottage – are stay was not long enough!

"Excellent cottage with modern amenities catered for everyone in a beautiful part of Donegal"

We are just back from our stay in the beautiful Mia's Cottage in Urris, just outside the village of Clonmany. We stayed during the first week of June 2013.

I travelled with my partner and our 4 year old boy. The cottage is beautifully finished with all Mod Cons. It was very warm and cozy and that was without having to light the fire or burn oil :-) There is also a private garden with plenty of parking and a play area for young children, which my little man loved as there was a slide and swings and see-saw so he was well entertained. There was also a Playstation there, just in case the weather may not have been so good. :-)

Mia's Cottage was a great base for the nearby beautiful beaches of Lenan (Right when leaving the house, about 5 minutes drive) and Tullagh Bay to the left. There is also an equestrian center at Tullagh Bay so plenty to occupy kids. We picked an excellent week for it as temperatures hit 25c at one point. There are lots of great walking routes around the nearby mountains of Ractin and Dunaff and Mamore Gap to keep ramblers entertained. Ballyliffin is not far away either for aspiring golfers.

I also had the pleasure if witnessing a Pod of Dolphins at close quarters on the nearby Doagh Isle, mesmerizing to say the least and the fact that they swam close to the shoreline was brilliant for my 4 year old to get a proper look.

All in all, we got exactly what we needed from our stay. Comfort and tranquility in the beautiful surroundings of Donegal. Will be back again without a shadow of a doubt if the owners John and Dolores will have us. :-)

"Lovely homely cottage in a picturesque setting."

We visited Mia's cottage In February and had a wonderful time. The cottage was warm (even in Feb) and homely and beautifully finished. The rooms were comfortable with plenty of extra blankets should they be needed. The area was beautiful and the locals very welcoming. There was lots to keep the children occupied such as the local horse riding school and the nearby beaches. Would dfinitely like to visit again :)

"Brilliant cottage in classic Donegal location"

I stayed here over new year (2012/13) with my husband and mother. We had terrific welcome from John and had an absolutely brilliant stay in the cottage, it was even better than we expected and what we could image from the photos. It was just newly renovated so we were using everything brand new and for the first time!!! It was great to have 2 bathroom facilities in the cottage which meant everyone had their own space :) We cooked in during our stay and the kitchen is really well equipped. The washer and drier would come in hand if I'd been there with my nieces and nephews!!!

Nearby beaches (turn right when you come out of the lane) are absolutely beautiful and relatively sheltered for Donegal! The rusty nail pub nearby had a great atmosphere and good tradition food! We also ate a few times in the Ballyliffin Lodge and we would highly recommend it. As it was over new year the tea rooms at the waterfall were closed but definitely looked like a place for a return visit and the walk to the waterfall was lovely and well worth it.

Overall we all had an absolutely lovely time in the cottage, it was perfect for a relaxing get away after a brilliant but busy Christmas!! We will be back :)
