The Loire Valley region
Situated in the west center of France in the Loire Valley where the Kings had built many chateaux .The region has a nice climate which is also called in French "la douceur angevine or Tourangelle" that means this area has a temperate climate: not too cold in Winter and not too hot in Summer.
It is also why you find many vineyards as: Chinon, Bourgueuil, Saint Nicolas, Saumur, Saumur Champigny, many are red wine but you can get white an rosé wines and also sparkling wines as Vouvray. You can do lots of things in family or friends. For example wine tasting or french cuisine in good restaurants as some are very famous.
Chinon had some important people has a king of France who lived in the Chateau of Chinon at the 15th century where he had received Joan of Arc, Cardinal of Richelieu who was the Prime Minister of Louis XIII came sometimes at Chinon, Rabelais a Docter and a famous writer was born in this town.
The region is historical with a lot of very well known castles, chateau, abbey, extraordinary gardens, museums, zoo. About chateaux: Chambord, Chenonceau, Villandry with its garden, Azay-le Rideau, Chinon, Saumur Montsoreau, Langeais, Rigny-Ussé (sleeping beauty) and so on.
