'La Maison de la Souris' is a beautiful, detached and private stone-built French farmhouse recently converted and equipped to a very high standard to provide exceptional holiday accommodation in the Haute Vienne, part of the Limousin region. The addition of a nine metre in-ground pool and hot tub help make this property the perfect location for your holiday in France.

The property, which stands in 2.8 hectares of land, has four large bedrooms (three doubles, one twin and including the signature bedroom... a vaulted 9m room with a walk in wet room with free standing bath), a spacious family bathroom, a double height lounge equipped with Digital tv, Sky+ HD box, DVD player, Xbox, free Wi-fi internet access and even an HP Printer for the day when you've forgotten to print your Ryanair boarding card. A wood burning stove will keep you warm and toasty when the evenings begin to cool and new for 2015 is our games and party room which provides a 7' slate bed pool table, 55" Smart TV with bluetooth Soundbar, plenty of seating, party lighting and an additional bathroom.

The brand new kitchen is 9m long with beautiful oak flooring, a three-oven Rangemaster duel fuel cooker, a large fridge/freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher and also has a comfortable seating area.

Outside, the property overlooks a beautiful new 9x4m pool, an accompanying hot tub, outdoor dining furniture and loungers and a large gas BBQ. There are even hi-fi speakers so you can provide your own soundtrack to your time by the pool. The summer weather in this part of France has more in common with the south of France and with temperatures regularly over 30 degrees a pool should be high on your list of 'must haves'.

Situated in a peaceful hamlet with views of rolling countryside, the property is 3km from the nearest village which is served by a restaurant, boulangerie and village store. Chalus is the closest town, being 5km to the west and providing a large supermarket, restaurants, butchers, bakers and other shops as well as two ATMs. Being in French lakeland, there are also several freshwater lakes in the area. Most have man-made sandy beaches and other leisure facilities and are very popular.

Whether your interest is in walking, cycling, fishing, horse riding... or you just like the idea of relaxing and doing as little as possible in a beautiful part of the world then 'The Mouse House' is the ideal venue to make your holiday special.

How do damage deposits work?

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Andrea (the owner) a message.

If Andrea (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
