"lovely villa in peaceful surroundings"
This is the third time we have rented the villa for a month, so obviously we like the place and the area it is in.
It is situated in quiet part of the island and is near beautiful scenery and walks, in fact the views from the villa are quite stunning, the sea and large hills are all in sight.
There are lots of sitting out areas around the villa, some in full sun, others in the shade and from all these areas you can still see the lovely views.
As the villa is situated at the end of a small track, there is no passing traffic and hardly any pedestrians, so it is very quiet and private.
Inside, the villa is comfortable and has all you need for your stay. The beds are comfortable, the showers good and the kitchen is well equipped.
There is a supermarket 5 minutes away by car in nearby Calheta, it stocks most things you need for you stay. There are also a good choice of cafés and restaurants in Calheta and lots of other small bars and cafés in other little villages in the area for you to explore.
The booking process is easy and the owner will contact you during your stay to make sure everything is ok, although Rose, who looks after the villa for the owner is also nearby if you have any problems, (which are rare.)

"What a fantastic Villa"
We wish we didnt have to return home. We loved staying at this villa, it was very clean with a high standard decor and very spacious. The kitchen is very well equiped and the views from the all day balcony are outstanding. It is quiet and peaceful and we spent many an evening watching the sunset from the varanda. The villa is lovely and cool providing relief from the heat in the much warmer months.
Rose and Gilberto are very welcoming, nothing was too much trouble and they were always available if we needed their advice.
Calheta beach is a 2 minute drive away with plenty of parking. After reading Madeira is a walkers paradise and we are not very mobile, we found Calheta provided everything we needed from restaurants to bars, a very well stocked supermartet and flat promonade for walking with plenty of seating and shade.
The main roads for driving are very good, very well signposted and the view through the mountains are out of this world.
We couldnt have asked for more, the villa is lovely and Madeira is beautiful. The owner was also extremely helpful from the initial enquiry through to our arrival, really taking time out to ensure our holiday was planned to perfection.

"A Fabulous Villa in a Quiet Location"
I don't very often use superlatives, but this villa deserves it. If you want a relaxing holiday in peaceful surroundings this is the one for you. The owner, Ian, is a very friendly and helpful guy in giving info. before and after booking. When booking online you are never sure who you are dealing with, but Ian put me immediately at ease with his warmth. Ian and Karen's local contact, Rose, in Madeira gave us a warm and friendly welcome.
The villa is spacious, clean and comfortable. The several outside spaces and seating are excellent. We went mainly for the covered terrace with its soft furnishings. We read; listened to the doves cooing, frogs trilling, birds chirping, and occasional water trickling; and gazed at the great view.

"Everything you could want in a villa rental"
All of the villa facilities we expected were provided and in good working order and the setting is lovely, it was certainly bigger than imagined and the furnishings are lovely. The master bed is incredibly comfortable The pool table and games console were an added bonus for keeping our son entertained. From the time of booking prompt and clear communication put us at ease before our holiday .
We were met in Calheta by a lovely English lady called Rose, she showed us to the villa which was great as it would have been tricky to find it on our own but once we knew the way we had no problems. She also ran through where everything was in the villa & how everything worked.
We loved Madeira, it is so beautiful and we managed to walk every day and see some fantastic scenery. The location of Calheta is great, the resort is small but has everything you need. Also we found for walking that the villa is ideally situated as it is only 10 minutes from Ribiera Brava and the tunnels that allows fast travel between north and south. However when the cloud from the north was spilling down the ribiera brava gorge and into that resort, a few miles away Calheta remained in sunshine, its certainly an island of micro climates. Calheta is also one of the few places on Madeira that has a sandy beach.
We definitely wouldn't hesitate to recommend the villa to another family as we had a lovely time.

"A Memorable Holiday"
A wonderful holiday with great weather and leisurely breakfasts on the balcony, with superb views. The villa was very well equipped, comfortable and relaxing and we had fun playing darts and pool. Well-stocked supermarket and good restaurant a short drive away in Calheta. A car was essential for us as we wanted to explore the beautiful Island. Any queries arising pre-holiday were dealt with quickly by the owner. Can't wait to return to Madeira and would have no hesitation in booking CasaCades again.

"The perfect Madeiran retreat, will definitely return!"
A fabulous villa, really well equipped with everything you need for a relaxing break. This was our first time in Madeira, and we're already looking forward to coming back.
The villa has a great location with simply stunning views of the ocean. The rooms were spacious and clean and the decor very sophisticated and on a par with some 4 star hotels I have stayed at. The place has a wonderful feel, the balcony is a fabulous place to sit and relax with a good book whilst watching the sun go down, and the pool and table tennis facilities provided some fun entertainment.
Many thanks to Ian for his excellent communication pre-travel, and Gilberto and Roseann who provided a warm reception for us on arrival on the island and gave us an informative insight into the island how best to make the most out of our holiday.
All-in -all a great well appointed villa in a brilliant location, I can't recommend this place highly enough. I look forward to our next break at CasaCade in 2012. Many thanks!

"Super property with fantastic views"
My wife and I stayed for 2 weeks. Perfect for a stress free, relaxing holiday. The property is extremely well equipped, although guests will need to take the basic food items, and dishwasher tablets and washing powder.
Although there are no restaurants within walking distance, why bother ! With sunshine all day, and super sunsets, why pay to go to a restaurant - the kitchen is so well equipped, that cooking is not a problem, and you can enjoy the view while preparing your food.
A car is pretty essential, although there are local buses (Funchal is about a 45 minute drive, and the Airport about an hour).
Calheta is about 5 minutes by car, with a good sized supermarket in the town.
1 minor issue - the internet is very slow (although always a bonus to have it anyway).
We also had a small problem that although it could not be dealt with whilst we were at the property, both Ian and Roseann supported us as much as possible, and were extremely understanding.
However, we have already booked for 2013.

"Vacanza Fantastica a Madeira in Calheta"
We spent the week in a lovely environment, close to the garden and nestled among the banana plants. What I can say, the house is well equipped, the kitchen, terrace, closely to Calheta, where is possible to buy good tuna and prepare the barbecue in the villa.
Thank you also to Roseann and Gilberto always available in case of problems/tropubles.
I would recommend.
Thank you again and maybe see you next year!

"Fantastic! The best location on the island and surely one of the best properties - we had a wonderful time."
From being met at the airport to leaving (sadly) we had the most wonderful time in Madeira. The house was exceptional - very clean and spacious and well kitted out. A real home from home. The sea view from the lounge, kitchen, bedroom and huge veranda really were out of this world. We spent a lot of time sitting there taking in the view and the atmosphere of Madeira. The local services were really good and there were several good restaurants close by. We were very well looked after by the owners and nothing was too much trouble. I would definitely recommend this property and hope to get there again myself someday.

"Lovely villa in delightful location"
Villa: The villa sleeps 6 but at such a good rate. we chose it for just the two of us. Very spacious (even for 6), well laid out, and equipped with everything we needed for the week. Though slightly inland, the large balcony overlooked a beautiful blue sea and we ate outdoors most mornings and evenings (there is also a sheltered area with plenty of seating, which was great when the sun was at its strongest), and if you were unlucky enough to have inclement weather, the property has Sky TV, pool table, pc, computer games, plus board games, dvds, etc. The property was clean and very comfortable and an excellent base for our week.
Hosts: The owner kept in touch with us after booking and ensured we were sorted with everything we needed for our holiday. The property manager in Madeira met us in Calheta, took us to the property, and was available and very helpful throughout the week.
Location: The website for the villa is detailed and we were aware a car would be practical. The property is approx 30 mins away from Funchal, in a more rural than nightlife type location, and this suited us perfectly! We walked in the mountains and did lavada walks, got around the island easily with the car we hired, ate out in local restaurants, but mainly ate in, as a local supermarket provided everything we needed (and very reasonably priced), and we loved sitting out on the balcony in the evening, relaxing, and taking in the view. The property is in a quiet area, there was no disturbance, except for a frog chorus each evening.
Madeira: We read up on Madeira and were aware it is not blessed with beaches (though Calheta has one!), but it is beautiful and green with lots of flowers and plants; the lavada system is fascinating and obviously feeds the island hence it looks lush and fresh wherever you go. The island is undulating with a lot of steep climbs, but many of the lavada walks are level. On a couple of days the mountains were very misty, but that should be expected as we were almost up in the clouds. We managed to walk every day, found the majority of people speak English, we had all amenities in close proximity, found the roads good, with just a few track like roads as you climbed the mountain areas (still thought they were fine though). We took a map and guide book (found similar in the property) and found them invaluable for getting around and planning our days. Not a huge variety of birds, but the lizards were cute, and lots of butterflies. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and would go again.
