The Sardinia region
The second-largest island in Mediterranean after Sicily, Sardinia serves up a lovely blend of sea, sand and history. Thousands of nuraghe (stone buildings) dot the landscape, proof that people have been enjoying the lovely climate here for millennia.
From posh Costa Smerelda in the north to medieval Alghero in the northwest to the lively capital of Cagliari in the south, and with many picturesque towns and unspoiled sandy beaches in between, Sardinia’s got a little something for everyone.
Tresnuraghes is a very quiet traditional town which has many local specialty shops to discover, it has three local bars all very welcoming and most evenings the town folk will gather to catch up on the local gossip.
For those who have not yet been to Bosa in Sardinia, you will have a welcome suprise in store. Just 45 mins South of Alghero this is a more traditional and less commercialised town also benefiting from being less expensive, than Alghero.
Bosa is situated in the Planargia flatlands on the Northwest coast; to get there you can drive along the panoramic road from Alghero, where you will find many little coves to stop and enjoy the scenery.
Bosa Marina beach is a long and deep stretch of sand and is very well served with all tourist facilities, pedalo and rubber dinghy hire, jet-ski and even a windsurfing club. There are also many bars on and off the beach, hotels and lovely restaurants where you can enjoy the local cuisine based on fish and seafood accompanied by a glass of the Malvasia, Bosa’s lovely wine
