From the owner

Ours is a log lodge built by owner in the year 2000. It is 90 sq meters (3000 sq feet) on 2 floors with 3 bedrooms and sleeps 7(8) adults. It sits on the lower slopes of a small mountain with a magnificent view over river below and the mountain range afar. A hot water tub is on the large patio that surrounds the house (we try to keep tub working through winter but cannot guarantee it). The house is conveniently located just off the Ringroad (Route #1 goes a full circle around Iceland) centrally in West Iceland within one hour's drive from Reykjavik and many major attractions such as:

I'm very pleased that you enjoyed your stay, but you should not be unhappy about paying the full price. As you say you had agreed to the rate, but in the end I had to compromise on a lower rate. The cleaning fee is clearly stated on the TA listing and quote. So I believe is TA's fee. You are right about there not being a mention of checkout time in the inhouse info folder and that has now been amended. I hope that regardlessof this your overall experience is positive

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Karl (the owner) a message.

If Karl (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
