The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region

the Turquiose Coast has a little something for every-one, with both quiet and lively resorts. Akyaka is in the national park and bay of Gokova, one of the quieter villages in the region. If you're looking for peace and quiet you can take a small drive to the neighbouring bay of Cinar bay which has become a popular spot for both tourists and Turkish residents. Further afield is the bay of Akbuk which offers traditional Turkish cuisine and gorgeous scenery and a chance to swim in the clear waters.

If you're looking for something a little more lively, buses and taxis are available to take you to Marmaris which is a 40 minute journey to some specatacular restaraunts and bars.

If it's history and architecture that interests you there are many excursions available from Akyaka some of which include Dalyan, Pamukkale, Heirapolis, Bodrum and Mugla.

For relaxation and a little taste of Turkish life there are mud baths and Turkish baths situated in Marmaris and Lake Koycegiz.

The wet season ends in March. Hotest periods are in July and August. May, June, September and October are warm and dry.

Akyaka

Gokova is situated in the province of Mu?la, in southwest Turkey, at the eastern end of the Gökova gulf, between Marmaris, Mu?la and Bodrum. It has a delightful position at the end of the Gökova gulf, bordered in the north by the Sakartepe hill , in the south by the wetlands of the Gökova plain ("heaven's plain") with its multitude of species, particularly water birds which entice the visitor into its spell.

From Gokova to Dalaman airport it is 70 km , to Marmaris 27 km, to Bodrum 109 km , to Fethiye 130 km . Between Gokova and Fethiye there are other popular resorts such as ; Koycegiz , Sarigerme , Dalyan and Gocek. In Gokova gulf Akcapinar beach is only 7km away and Akyaka town centre is 9 km . Akcapinar beach is very popular for wind and kite surfing. It has been nominated by foreign visitors as the best wind and kite surfing beach n Europe

"Wonderful villa in tranquil setting but near to beach and town."

Villa Gultekin is a lovely villa in a peaceful rural setting overlooking wooded valleys and mountains. Its spacious, very well furnished and the kitchen has every appliance and convenience. The pool is delightful with plenty of terrace space both in the sun or for shade beneath the pergola. We have just returned from a two week holiday with our three children, two teenage and an eleven year old. It was a hard call between lazing beside the pool or making the ten minute journey into nearby Akyaka. Akyaka is a small very genuine Turkish resort set on the coast and a river. It has a number of good fresh fish restaurants beside the river and in the town there are a selection of shops where you can buy all you need for the villa. At night the town is buzzy with a few bars and restaurants but not at all touristy. The beach is small and it was busy as we coincided with the end of Ramadan, but we never had a problem and enjoyed the atmosphere. We found two good beach front restaurants, particularly "The Marina Bar" where they serve drinks and food on the beach. Also try the "moules man" who wanders around the beach at lunch time serving the biggest and freshest mussels in their shell with spicy rice - excellent! Hamza, the villa owner was marvellous right from the booking to stocking the villa for us before our arrival, meeting us at the airport and arranging our hire car. Nothing was too much trouble so thanks again and we will be booking for another stay in 2014.

Thanks for your feedback however I just wondered did I miss anything because I received only 4 star. I would appreciate any commend so I can improve it.
Kindest Regards ,
Hamza GULTEKIN
