The Canary Islands region
Gran Canaria has one of the best climates in the world, which attracts thousands of visitors every year. It's volcanic landscape and beaches makes this island a prime tourist destination.
Valle de Agaete is located on the islands north-west, far from all tourist resorts. The Mountains of Tamadaba, which make islands largest Nature Reserve, surround the valley.
As you open the door of our house you are literally standing on one of the island's most popular trekking paths. The path takes you up the mountains and the views from the top are just mesmerizing. We heavily recommend this 2 hour trek.
Nearby is Las Nieves beach. There are two beaches here and a fantastic natural swimming pool, which is very popular in summer. From Las Nieves you can also get on one of the Ferries that take you to Tenerife for the day.

"Great accommodation for walkers wanting an accessible rural escape in Gran Canaria"
This place is great value, run by a family who extend a warm welcome and lots of lovely fruit and avocados from their own orchard. Situated at the foot of a Camino Real, impressive cliffs and jaggy pe… More

"Wonderful house, delicious fruits and awesome host!"
I had a great stay here with my family, except car park access which was very tough (too much slope) for drivers with less experience with such environment, everything else was amazing. Dailos parents… More

"Wonderful time in Agaete"
We had a lovely family time in a lovely environment.
The owners are really nice people. It was reassuring to know that they were close and lovely to be allowed to enjoy freely from this beautiful nature.
Being right in the mountain and so close to the sea at the same time was outstanding for us.
The flat is clean and spacious with nice vivid colours and a really beautiful view from the terrace too.
We felt warmly welcome with trust regarding the reservation, everything provided for the beginning and nothing to do at the end so it was really easy and we could really enjoy
the whole time.
I would of course recommend this address to anybody who is looking for a
friendly atmosphere in a natural environment.

"The true Gran Canaria"
We have had a wonderful holiday in your top apartment, everything was just as in your advertisement, and the only concern could be our own lack of Spanish.
But everyone was so kind and so helpful and full of smiles, that we really felt at home, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
We also enjoyed your father showing us the farm, he gave us a real good impression of life in the area, the farming, and the dependency on e.g. the weather; the latter making good reason for short showers in the bathroom!
And we enjoyed eating in Casa Tino, and the help we received from the owners was impressive and very welcome.
We had no main concern about staying with you. We had studied the Holiday Lettings ad, and you solved the puzzle: your week was 6 days/nights, our week was 7days/nights. Other home-pages have been scrutinized too, so we were well in the picture, and had a fair idea of Casa Tamadaba as well as the area. Everything has been absolutely tops! We felt at home immediately, and couldn't wish for a nicer place to stay, even for a much longer period.
The welcome pack was overwhelming and we have really enjoyed.
We have already handed out one of your cards, and will recommend your casa to anyone interested in Gran Canaria, who are not like mass tourists just coming for the pool and sun.
It might be a good idea, that you suggest future visitors to hire not the smallest car, as, being “flat-landers” with no practice for very steep places, we found it rather difficult for “our” Yaris to climb up to the allotted parking place without draining the battery!! - thereafter we parked on the square by the supermarket!
Thank you so much for your kind comments.
I'm really glad you had a good time in our apartment and in Gran Canaria. Yes, it's always good to know some Spanish before coming here. I usually buy Lonely Planet's fast talk phrase pocket book for wherever I go as I have found them really useful.
I'm happy to hear you stopped by Casa Tino as they are very friendly and make some of the best steaks in my opinion.
Thank you so much for handing out our cards to your friends and recommending our place to them. It was lovely having you here and we hope seeing you back in the future!

"A Fantastic Holiday!"
We've just returned from a wonderful holiday staying in this apartment, which has spectacular views and is in the grounds of a fruit farm at the visitors' disposal.
The owners couldn't have been more welcoming, seeming to know exactly what the traveller needs, for example providing something to eat and drink when you arrive tired and hungry after travelling so far. The accommodation was the best we have ever experienced (and we have experienced a lot of self-catering establishments!).
We had some problems locating the apartment, and found that, once in Agaete, the GC 231 pointing to the Valle de Los Berrazales took us to the San Pedro road. After driving straight through San Pedro there is a big board on the left advertising a vineyard; go up this road - it's very steep. Hope these suggestions might help fellow travellers, so that they don't keep the hosts waiting as we did when we got lost!
Thank you very much for taking the time to give us such a positive review.
We are truly glad you enjoy your stay with us and that you had a good time walking around our farm.
My parents send warm regards and we really look forward to seeing you again in the future.

"Very nice place to stay if you want to go walking in this fantastic area."
****: The house is very well equipped and has nice furniture and wonderful beds. The location is superb for those who want rest - and lots of walking tours in the Tamadaba-area. The house is situated in a fruit garden (that you're allowed to pick!).
The owners are prompt, very helpful and friendly; the welcoming pack was a nice surprise as it saved us a trip to the shop.
There is free internet (wifi) down the street around the corner, in front of the (mini)library.
*: Boiler capacity is limited, the house is in the shade side of the valley (3hrs less sun in dec), the view is beautiful on the roof terrace but limited when you're inside. If you're unlucky, people walk their dogs just in your alley, leaving you with their smelly greetings.
Thank you so much for your review with so many positive comments about our apartment and the local facilities like the free internet (wifi) just around the corner in front of the (mini) library.
We appreciate you taking the time and look forward to seeing you again.
